My experience at the Northern Virginia Eye Institute was excellent. The staff is courteous and professional. Dr. Rana provided excellent care and explained the procedure so that I understood what was going to happen and how to care for my eye afterwards. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain my condition to me. I would definitely recommend this practice and Dr. Rana to others.

I had a wonderful experience with my cataract surgery. The results were great. I can see distant objects very clear and colors are very vibrant. I didn't know what I had been missing. The office staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions in terms I could understand. Dr.Rana was very knowledgeable and explained the process very clearly. I am totally satisfied with the results from Dr. Rana's surgery on both of my eyes. I would highly recommend Dr. Rana to anyone needing cataract surgery.

Dr. Rana said he would call me personally to discuss details related to my cataract surgery. I waited for days with no call from him so I called the office. The receptionist said he was on vacation and she would personally put a note on his desk reminding him to call me immediately upon his return. Two more weeks passed and I never received a call. Obviously this doctor does not care about lying to his patients. If a doctor tells a patient that he will call, I think that is what he should do. Also they required me to come to two separate appointments prior to cataract surgery, which I never had due to the incompetence at The Eye Surgery Center of which Dr. Rana has a financial interest. My insurance company told me one appointment was all that was required. My insurance company was billed twice and I was asked to pay two separate co-pay charges of $40 each.The reason they said I needed the second appointment to measure my eyeball was that they were "too busy" to do it on my first appointment. This is ridiculous and the insurance companies should not allow this to go on by physicians like Dr. Rana.

This place is a freaking joke every time I've been in there with my husband they have been over 30 minutes behind schedual an the Dr. Was very rude to my husband I would not suggest this place to anyone an if the hospital refers you find somewhere else!
