My husband had his annual check-up with Dr. Mays and had his lens implant cleaned.He found the entire staff is thoroughly competent, gracious, and professional.I could not be more thoroughly pleased with my treatment. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who needs eye care.

My family hasn't been going here long but pretty much every visit has been unpleasant. You never really see the Doc and the assistant that we always get doesn't seem sure about any information she gives. She got frustrated with my child being present and told me I should reschedule at a time where I didn't have to have my child with me. Also, they tell you to come 15 minutes early or else they "have the right" to reschedule you, then they don't see you until 15-20 minutes after your appointed time. I really wanted this place to work out for us but unfortunately it has not and I cannot recommend it to new customers. :( **UPDATE** Since I posted this, they changed their sign in the lobby about having the right to reschedule due to not being there early. ALSO, because I posted a review stating that I was unhappy with the service my family and I received, this office has cut my whole family from their care. I would not have known hat if I didn't walk in myself and ask about my contacts I was supposed to get a call about and never did. They said they didn't call because they never ordered them. Why didn't they order them you ask? Because they "assumed we weren't coming back." Um, unfortunately that's not how it works. Everyone knows how insurance works. This is where we decided to have our yearly check ups that our insurance covers so of course we were gonna stick with it another year. We couldn't go anywhere else and be covered. But they ASSUMED we weren't coming back. Never called to inquire, nothing. Then refused to give me my contact perscription information because they wanted us gone. Because of a Google review. One that I thought was still respectful even though it wasn't positive. So anyway, the manager also told my husband they haven't billed our insurance yet so it could be like we were never there other than our copays but when we called our insurance company about it, they said they did get billed and I won't be able to go anywhere else for a while unless they credit the account.

Dr. Mays has my recommendation!!!! Nothing but good things to say about the entire staff! The women in the optical frame office are amazing! They have worked wonders for my daughter! They are always sweet and more than helpful!!!

I don't know what office these other "reviewers" were in but I don't think it was Dr. Mays office. I just took my young daughter there for a minor eye injury and they were great...especially Dr. Mays himself! They were friendly, engaging and very professional. They actually got us into an exam room before our appointment time. Dr. Mays and his staff have my recommendation :)

I wish that I could give zero stars! So in my 20+ years of eye doctors, this Dr. and his staff have gave me the worst experience of my life thus far. We waited in the waiting room for 25 minutes before ever getting checked in. It was my daughters first eye doctors appointment ever and all they did for her was cover one eye and ask to repeat the letters she seen! And anyone who has been to enough eye doctors appointments know that is not all that they are suppose to do. Then it was my turn. But all of the test that were done to us, was done by a nurse! We never even laid eyes on the dr! We were in the dr office for 2 hours and never got a full exam because when I went to ask about contacts, they told me I had to come back and make another appointment for contacts! (Which I am not a new user to contacts, been wearing them for years.) Everyone’s insurance is different but never have I been charged the specialist price for an eye doctor! But sure enough they charged us an $80 copay for that crappy visit and I got no contacts/prescription nor glasses out of it. (The bill still to come) The biggest waste of money I have ever spent in my life! Definitely NOT recommended!!!!

Dr. Mays is not a recommended Physician by my family nor I. He not only once but twice missed my mothers torn retina in her right eye & detached retina in her left eye!!! He said it was glaucoma and she would never regain her vision !!!!!
