I go to the eye clinic for my eye exams, and they are fine. Seem to do a good job and they are friendly. HOWEVER - the optical department is not as friendly. I needed a measurement so I could get my glasses made somewhere else (called a PD), and it is "company policy" that they do not give out the PD. This is in order to make sure that you do not buy glasses anywhere else. Other eyeglass retailers indicated this is not a big deal and they'd gladly do this measurement as a courtesy, so I'm very disappointed in the "company policy" of this optical department, particularly as I have spent a lot of money with their optometrists. It is hard to recommend a company like this.
The office is an amazing place to visit. Very friendly staff, very professional.
My appointment was on time with good interaction and explanations. Everyone was personable and helpful.
Clean, great front office staff.
Excellent experience: Dr. Myers is a little stuff but sure knows his business. Last year he discovered a retina defect, referred me to a specialist that performed necessary surgery to saves my vision! I returned last week for a follow-up exam and received a new eyeglass prescription. I went downstairs to the optical department and ordered new glasses . Five days later I picked them up! They were able to use a previous frame so I saved $. Kudos to both the staff, especially theoptical department. I would definitely recommend Clearview Eye. T
I had cataract surgery in one eye. I was given a careful diagnosis and thorough information in advance. On the day of surgery the intake process was caring and proficient, and the procedure done efficiently. My recovery and aftercare was also well done. When my vision a few days out started to change, Dr. Weingeist asked me to come in immediately. He discerned that I was a "hyper-responder" to one of the drops--a steroid--and immediately applied a counteracting agent and changed my routine of drops. Through the whole experience I felt safe, cared for, and well-served.
Amazing doctor and easy picking process for my new pair of glasses!
If you go somewhere and people aren't professional, everything isn't explained, no one is personable, and you just have a bad feeling, please get up and leave. Don't let anyone treat you who you aren't comfortable and confident with.
I have been going to this clinic for my eye care for over 30 years. It was located up on California Ave near the West Seattle Junction back then. Dr Meyer's and their staff are great.
The staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable
My first time here and everyone was very helpful. Dr. Mulligan was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. Recommended!
Very efficient and professional, I've had all my eye problems treated at Clearview.
Great service; caring staff!
Always great and courteous service here!!
Was very happy that Dr. Mulligan could check my eye for a retina tear right away.
Great experience. Michelle helped us to get an immediate appointment. Staff was polite. Office is modern and clean. Dr. Mulligan was professional, knowledgeable, and took extra time to evaluate and discuss concerns. Thanks everyone!
The staff are excellent! very kind, and knowledgeable
Everyone is so helpful & nice
I have been to both offices and they are both excellent! I would highly recommend them!
My transportation home was delayed an incredible 3 hours plus; your office staff remained with me well past the end of their day to help me and make certain I arrived safely home. I cannot thank your staff enough!
Nice facility, great office team to work with, Dr Weingeist is wonderful in his knowledge, manner, and personality. I highly recommend him as well as the Clearview team.
The doctors are great! But very rude receptionist.
Always friendly,always professional.
Continues to provide outstanding eye care services. However, if you are late for your appointment there is a strong possibility of being rescheduled for another day.
I was at the west Seattle clinic this morning. I found the place to be clean and quite. The front desk staff were friendly and inviting. The Tech was super friendly and knowledgeable, so was the doctor. The at the store which is located on the first floor had wide range of glasses to choose from, the staff there gave us excellent service. Clearview my family's go to place for eye care.
Excellent professionals in an excellent and very well equipped office - highly recommend it!
GREAT STAFF AND DRS. PLEASE PLEASE WARN PATIENTS ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF EYE DILATION AND TO BRING SUNGLASSES. I WALKED INTO BRIGHT SUN ON FRIDAY AFTER MY EYES WERE DILATED AND TODAY MONDAY I'M STILL SUFFERING.
I continue to be impressed by the helpfulness, friendliness and quality of the work done by all of the the staff here.
I hate to give Clearview overall a bad review because some of the staff are very kind and welcoming. However, my most recent experience led me to consider switching clinics. I made a 4:30 appointment and arrived at 4:35 due to traffic. I got there and the receptionist goes, “Yeah, the doctor [Dr. Mulligan] left.” There had been no grace period, no courtesy call, nothing. The clinic doesn’t even close until 5:30- I didn’t understand. When I asked what I could do (because there is something seriously wrong with my eyes that needs to be seen ASAP), the receptionist just said “You can make another appointment.” So I just left. The doctor nor the receptionist seemed to care at all about their patients. I am now booking an appointment at a different clinic.
I was needing my daughter's eyes checked as it has been years since her last exam and she being a preemie I just like always making sure everything is ok. We went to the West Seattle Clinic. I actually got lost and had to call to make sure I was close and the staff was very helpful. The office is very clean and we found the front desk receptionist to be more than nice! I feel badly for people who have said they feel just like another "number" because that was not the case with us. Maybe they have improved over the years but every single staff member that saw us was nice. We even passed by a staff member in the hallway and she smiled and said good morning. We felt both the tech and the doctor took their time with us and we certainly didn't feel rushed at all. He made my daughter laugh and she actually had fun wearing the 3D goggles. Dr. Mulligan was great and I recommend this business.
*This is a review from 6 years ago, that's not visible since it was on my dead profile before Google Plus* Don't let the MD status of these doctors fool you. The whole office upstairs is very unprofessional and dysfunctional. Communication skills of receptionists are very poor. On my first visit, receptionists were arguing out in the open with the customers about missed appointments, unpaid bills and other personal information, while I was standing there. Dr. Thomas G. Mulligan was very brief on my first visit and annoyed on my second. His first prescription didn't work, so went back for a remake, I suggested maybe I should just get my old prescription that I had 3 years ago from another doctor because it still was better than what he prescribed me. He quickly wrote me that old prescription and left. Then a staff member walked in and said that I should still try the new eye glasses to know for sure. I did, and a few days later realized that the distance was fine, but anything within 10 feet was very blurry. I called the office to tell about my discovery and all of a sudden they went CRAZY on me like some mad dogs. The receptionist started yelling and saying that I can not get anymore appointments because I have to wear my new glasses for 2 weeks. I felt like I was talking to a mentally unstable person who couldn't comprehend anything I was saying. She kept getting irritated and agitated. When I said that I need to talk to a doctor, she said that he is busy. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she just hung up on me. Then I got a phone call from another female, who said that they will refund my money and that they can not take me as a patient anymore. I was like... what are you talking about woman?! and who are you? She was very offensive. She started saying that I should wear my new glasses for 2 weeks before making another appointment and that I was late for my previous appointment. When I said that I was never late for my appointments, she started threatening that she will hang up and then she did. Very pathetic encounter. Even the refund process was a mess... One receptionist didn't know what the other was doing, etc. What a waste of time! Thank god, it's over. Stay away from this place!!!
Delightful and helpful staff. Makes going to the doctor a pleasant experience.
I always get good care at Clearview Eye & Laser. Thank you!
I have been coming here on a regular basis for 3 years and have found them pleasant and professional on every occasion.
I have been a patient of Dr. Weingeist (an ophthalmologist, instead of just a optometrist) for several visits and he seems very knowledgeable. I was hesitant to make an appointment again at Clearview due to all the negative views, but had no issues whatever so as the first patient of the day. I did ask about the negative reviews - they told me that sometimes they get an emergency patient into the clinic, which causes a delay.
I drive 20-40 minutes each way just to come and see Dr Meyer for my glaucoma. My old opthamologist, from another state who did many of my old eyes surgeries in childhood said to find an eye doctor who is certified with the American glaucoma Association. Something like that. There were only a few choices in Seattle and I'm happy that was one of them. He is always incredibly warm and I really believe he cares. Sometimes the receptionists can seem a bit chilly or brusque but Corporate America always wants everybody to be incredibly chipper even if it's fake and I am not bothered by a lack of false perkiness.
Dr Mulligan and his team were wonderful throughout my entire lasik pre-op consultation and lasik procedure. Just woke up from my post procedure nap today and I can see the clock without my glasses! They explained the process thoroughly throughout my entire experience. Would recommend to anyone that is interested in lasik eye surgery.
2 times in a row the doctor messes up on my prescription and has caused many issues with getting my prescription filled. Does he even know how to keep all his patients files separate and properly provide accurate prescriptions. I've had bifocals for over 8 years and both times he writes a single prescription for almost good vision and if I didn't tell costco they wouldnt have caught it and explained he wrote the same prescription that was wrong. When called the office to address the concern they were rude and had me on hold as of I had time to leave and drive from tukwila costxo fo west seattle. I explained this is a common mess up out that office. My family and I are no longer going here after this. The staff are rude and think it's all funny and laugh at you like that dont know what professionals are. I guess they just want money. The people down stairs are pushy and rude. They assume you dont have money and will categorize you.
This review is for Dr. Mulligan. I went to see Dr Mulligan about a year ago on for PRK surgery on 1/27/2017. I was told I would need PRK surgery because I had already had lasik treatment back when I was 18 (I am 34 now). I had also needed an enhancement six months later from the lasik center back when I was 18 as well (but all turned out good then). Dr Mulligan informed me that at most, it would only take me a few weeks to recover the bulk of my vision. I did the PRK surgery with him and even after two weeks my vision in my right eye was still not adequate to do normal tasks. I would constantly get dizziness and could no longer see objects within close range. Each time I went to see Dr Mulligan, he would inform me I needed to wait more time for my eye to heal. After about 3 months I want to say, Dr Mulligan finally prescribed me another prescription for my right eye because I still did not have any close up vision in my right eye. Each time I went back to see him he continued to tell me my eyes would heal overtime and if I did my second eye, it would probably even out with the lack of lost vision in my right eye. I never liked the way Dr. Mulligan was short with me anyways, but I figured this was just his style. About a year later, this last week, I had scheduled to do my left eye. So I had paid $2500 - 15% from my VSP for the first eye, I was told if I did my second eye, I would only be charged $1200 for doing both eyes with them. When I went in for my pre-op exam, I asked Dr Mulligan about my options in the event of something going wrong with my second eye. I was quite shocked with his behavior at that point. He got extremely defensive, saying that he was doing me a favor and I had already had lasik twice before, ect, ect. I was actually quite scared at this point because the door was closed and he was standing up and speaking in a very elevated voice towards me. I asked at that point if I could just speak to a manager and he said I just needed to go somewhere else and that he was the manager. I persisted a bit more, this time getting up and pushing my way to the door so it would be open at this point. I think that shocked him because he moved out of my way and told me he would get the office manager. I spoke to the office manager about my concern and how the doctor had overreacted to what I thought was a very innocent question. She told me she would follow up with me after speaking to the other doctor to see if he could do the treatment on me instead. The next week she called me back and told me the doctor did not feel comfortable with the situation and was not going to be able to perform the surgery. I am a bit taken back by the whole situation and now I have to start completely over and pay even more out of pocket to get my left eye done, I don't even know at this point if my right eye can be fixed.
Good professionals
Bought a $320 pair of sun glasses here and made sure I could return them. Told me I could. Tried to return a week later unused and refused to do so.
I have had eye exams and surgeries with Dr. Mulligan for a number of years both at the weat Seattle and Burien offices- very professional and well- run establishments. I highly recommend them.
Dr. Casimir is great!
Great staff, friendly, helpful. Wait time to see doctor could be improved slightly.
They were great. My surgery was done well and it was very quick. The staff was very friendly and helped me feel very comfortable.
I have been to Dr. Mulligan several times. He knows what he is doing and I feel confident about his competency. He is proud of his facility and he is very concerned about peoples' eyes.
I don't need my surgeon to have a great bedside manner. What I require is great competence. Although Dr. Meyer does not present a warm presence and comes across a bit on the brusque side, I found him to be professional, polite, informative and an excellent surgeon. He removed cataracts on both eyes and the experience was as comforting as they could make it and the results were outstanding.
Ymy only. Problem is the wait time in the exam room, would be nicer to sit in , lobby. Longer, really like the entire staff!
Why does this clinic only comment on the positive reviews? I would LOVE to see what they have to say in response to the negative reviews regarding the personal treatment of their clients. Any explanation? Just a helpful hint-- you CAN report this doctor, and he could potentially be charged with medical malpractice. I am seeing a lot of the same complaints regarding his professionalism and work, and this saddens me. Gather your information and report Tom Mulligan.
Had a great experience. Clean, convenient, and knowledgeable staff.
My experiences with the receptionist downstairs and upstairs has ALWAYS been professional, courteous, friendly and welcoming....my experience with Dr. Weingeist has been exceptional...he takes great effort and patience in instructing and explaining all concerns of the eye ..AND LISTENS TO AND RESPONDS TO QUESTIONS...there is sometimes a bit of a wait.....BUT i have been taken in on two emergeny visits and that does interfere with the normal scheduling .....so waiting is not a problem for me and it has never been inconvenient...i referred two friends last year and just now referref two families and know they will get the best treatment
The front desk staff, technicians and supporting staff are always so nice. They have always been so helpful when I have questions about insurance, health care, etc. I have been to other eye clinics before downtown. This place & staff are so much more relaxed and courteous.
I had cataracts removed from both eyes by Dr. Mulligan. It was entirely painless and I can see normally now. The operation took only a few seconds. The clinic operates very efficiently. You spend very little time in the waiting room, most of your visit involves the staff doing preliminary work with you to prepare you for Dr. Mulligan's examination, or for the surgery. They don't waste your time, they just restore your vision. Which is as it should be.
I would not recommend. Zero explanation of what the procedure was going to entail. Procedure was more invasive and painful than planned. Any other physician I’ve met explains what they are going to do, and what the recovery timeframe is. If I had meetings or presentations I would have looked like I’d just gotten into a fight. No post procedure instructions provided.
Been going to them for a number of years. /good outfit and I continue to go their for my eye needs
Dr. Casimir and the whole staff were wonderful. Kind, clear, competent. Explained clearly. I love Dr. Casimir's relaxing voice.
I walked out of this office and will never return I had my records sent to me. The office runs like a machine and you are treated like a part on the assembly line Dr. Thomas Mulligan after examining my eyes told me that if I wanted to see better I would have the cataract removed from my left eye. "You can think about it," he said, "No urgency." I asked what the consequences would be if I waited. He replied that there would be no consequences. I asked if a change in prescription would help me see any better. Again, he said, "If you want to see better, have the cataract removed from your left eye." Well, these are MY eyes, and my only eyes and I expect more information than a Dr's conclusion. Trying once more I asked another question. In an exasperated tone, Dr. Mulligan said, "For the fourth time: If you want to see better, have the cataract removed from your left eye." I've told you that four times!" Wow!, I'm not sure what century he lives in, but certainly not this one. I have never experienced such disrespectful and unprofessional treatment.
Dr. Meyer is excellent and his staff as well. I would recommend him in a heartbeat and have in fact on several occasions.
Office is very efficient and I liked Dr. Weingiest's professional but warm manner. I am a new patient and will return in the future when the need arises.
Had a great experience with Dr. Keshia Casimir and the glasses clinic downstairs. Had my prescription renewed and new glasses in less than 2 hours.
The assistants were all rude young women who were more interested in gossiping and giggling with one another then providing customer service. This has happened the last 3 visits. Plus their glasses selections are horrendous and overly priced.
My optometrist is amazing! Kind, knowledgeable, and using the latest technology. The store has a great selection and service. We have been going there for over 5 years. Frames are a bit on the $$ side.
Dr. Casimir is amazing---professional, kind and attentive. She goes above and beyond to make sure your questions are answered and meet your needs. Dr. Weingiest also gets high praise. He was my mom's doctor for many years. He did her cataract surgery after her stroke and was very kind to her. It was not easy for her to travel and he always made her comfortable.
the staff was very friendly and my lasik surgery was quick and painless. I was able to see the same day! The doctor did a great job. I would definitely recommend.
Very friendly and professional staff and doctors. Happy with what they've done for me so far. Decent parking also
Lovely people, great atmosphere (clean, comfy with lots of laughter) and Dr. Aaron Weingeist is absolutely the best!!!!
Don't go here! Horrible experience with Dr. Mulligan. I have insurance so my exam with him was covered but you couldn't PAY me to get an exam from that rude man. He didn't greet me upon entering the room (basic gesture upon meeting a new human) or actually look me in the eye, except through the flip-down prescription lense apparatus. He answered my single question with a snide remark. I've never been in a professional medical environment and felt like I was an intrusion. Clearly I'm not alone in my opinion, judging by other reviews. Why is this guy working with the public??!! Unbelievable!
The staff is very professional and friendly. Dr. Meyers answered all my questions before and after surgery. I would recommend clearview to everyone!
