They were the first place that actually listened to my complaints about having double vision and after a number of tests prescribed me glasses that took care of that problem. From the initial exam through my cataract .surgery and post op appointment ...my experience could not have been better. Dr. Rudd is a fabulous coach during the actual surgery as he talks you through every step of the "light" show. Everyone on staff is professional, answers patient questions, and really appears to like their job. I was surprised to even get a personal phone call from Dr. Rudd that same day just to see how I was doing. Lindsay, the surgical coordinator, was well-informed, smart and funny...and you even get flowers on the way out!!!

They informed me I was going to have a long wait. And they were understaffed. They seemed like they didnt want my busniess at all. There was another upset customer complaining about coming back multiple times. I took my prescription elsewhere and purchased glasses.

The tech used the wrong drops on my eye and over dilated my eyes (24hrs instead of the 4 hrs). Then the Optic Center had four people waiting to pick out frames while two employees picked out frames for each other neither even greeted the other customers waiting in line. Will never go back. To top it off my insurance copay is $10 a person we were charged $15 a person.

This place is all about volume. No personal concern what so ever. The check in staff is not very helpful or friendly and were extremely rude to an elderly gentlemen standing next to us. When it comes to the vision of my children I expect a little more concern and care. After being corrected several times, they still called my daughter by the wrong name. No attention to detail. Will be looking elsewhere for a new place to care for my families eyes. Highly disappointed.

Clarus Eye Centre provides excellent eye care. As a person with complicated eye problems, I have spent a lot of time there and will continue to do so throughout my life. Their intake process is welcoming and efficient and patients are looked after by a person who "works the floor." She is in charge of making sure no one falls through the cracks as someone might as they have a high volume of patients coming through. I had to wait a bit longer than usual the last time I was there and she approached me and then followed up with other staff to find out when I would be seen. This is a nice touch especially since a lot of folks who come here are older and may have impairments that might make it difficult for them to completely keep track of themselves. Clarus technicians are friendly and professional and Clarus eye physicians are top notch. I highly recommend Dr. Steven Reck. He performed my eye surgeries and has been my eye physician ever since. I highly recommend Clarus Eye Centre.

We moved to the area about 2 years ago and chose Clarus for our eye care based on their reputation. It is a large practice consisting of many eye specialists supported by a large staff. They conduct routine eye exams and also perform eye surgery procedures in a seperate on-site annex (cataracts/glaucoma/etc). Both the administrative and technical support staff are very professional and pleasant to deal with, and the patient is never "in the dark" about what is taking place during an exam or procedure. My spouse and I have both undergone cataract surgery there and are highly pleased, with the outcome and our care and handling throughout the entire process. We highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for, or needing, eye care.

So we set up an appoitment. The day when we went over. They said no, they don't accept our medicare insurance even we have supplemental carrier on top of the medicare. It totally wasted our effort and time. So we went home without being seen.

Worst experience of my life! I called ahead of time to schedule an exam for CONTACT LENSES, my husband calls them later to confirm what was covered and when I get there I find out that it’s not covered I need to pay. I tell them never mind I don’t want the exam so I went ahead with my sons exam. While I’m the exam I’m talked into getting my exam and getting a prescription from them. This is under the understanding I’m there for contact lenses. The woman comes back and tells me the contacts ARE covered so they give me trial lenses and tell me mine will come in the mail. I’m called back and told they’re not covered AGAIN so I decided to go to Costco. I get an appointment at Costco and turns out they give me a prescription FOR GLASSES! I call to have my contact prescription faxed, the technition says “I’ll fax it right over” 14 minutes later I call to ask why we haven’t got our fax and they tell me that she went into an exam with another patient and they don’t know when I’ll have my fax WASTING MORE OF MY TIME AND NOW COSTCOS TIME AS WELL!

From the moment you walk in the doors you are greeted and directed to the representative who can best help you. The waiting period for your appointment is minimal. Once shown into the doctor exam room one generally expects to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes minimum before actually seeing your doctor. Not so at Clarus. Doctor shows up, is very personable; dispenses information you can understand, answers questions and takes a personal interest in your well being without delaying you. Intake took less than five minutes and the nurse called me back less than two minutes after I sat down and 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment. Dr. Heather Muehler is a delight and a breath of fresh air in that she listened, was very informative about options for my multi focal contacts prescription. I didn’t have to decide then; rather she advised me to try a couple pairs over the following few weeks then get back to them with which ones worked the best! Very highly recommend her and will be sending my adult college aged daughter to her when her appointment time comes up!

If I could I would have given zero stars. While the service provided is acceptable, the wait time IS NOT. Have been there for 4 appointments now, and on visit #1, was called back 1 hour late. Visit #2, nearly 3 hours late. Visit #3, 30 minutes late. Here it is visit #4, and was called back 1.5 hours late. Bring a pillow, because you could be here awhile.

I was treated with amazing disrespect. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Because it's a large facility, you're made to feel like this is the only option for eye care in Thurston County. I have found a new provider Rousche Eye Care in Hawks Prarie where I was treated with respect and dignity. I will never go back to this place. The doctors at Clarus do not take your feelings into consideration or safety and threaten that if they don't perform their examinations the way they see fit, there could be legal or other ramifications imposed on you. When it comes to my healthcare, I don't appreciate being threatened or bullied into only 1 option. As a consumer I prefer to weight out my options and make informed decisions when it comes to my health. SHAME on Clarus for running such a shoddy operation. To note, I was even more offended when their technicians started adding chemicals to my eyes without any gloves or health precautions. I am hoping that I do not obtain an infection from their mis-treatment of my eyes. Maybe if others who are treated this way leave honest reviews, Clarus will understand there are other places who value our healthcare dollars and maybe they will change their tactics to be more consumer friendly. Until then, I will take my healthcare dollars elsewhere. Don't walk away from this dirty place, RUN!

I very recently got Lasik through Clarus. Craig helped me immensely in getting my process started. Dr. Rudd was also very professional. They helped me feel comfortable and at ease with my choice to get the surgery. Both Craig and Dr. Rudd were supportive from start to finish. Dr. Rudd even called my cell phone the night after surgery to make sure I was healing alright. Not to mention the results- no more glasses or contacts! In my eyes (no pun), this was a great experience and I recommend Clarus to anyone. In fact, my parents are following in my footsteps with the surgery!

I really like this place that I drove an hour that's how much I like this place. The receptionist was very nice explained everything about what my insurance cover what I have to pay and asked if I wanted glass or contacts so she can change my appointment. The technician that helped my brother was rude because we couldn't hear her not to mention she kept telling the last name instead of the first name which confused me and my brother on which of us she needs but she did eventually apologize so it was all good on the other hand the Technician that saw me was super nice so maybe it is a luck on who you end up with. The doctor was nice and the person helping was nice they took care of all the details and took their time to do the exam right. Overall I would recommend this place so far the best eye care center i have been to.

He not only thinks he can help me with this problem, but he is going to get it approved with my insurance company so it won't be out of pocket! The staff was amazing, the whole visit was fast and courteous! I go back on the 6th for treatment, and I'm not nervous at all!

Took my wife to an appointment here. I was planning on doing work from the loby as i have before in the past thanks to the wifi. The public wifi does not work and when i told the lady in the loby the response was " i guess its down" no one notified anyone else so it would eventually work later not for me of course that takes some time. Just bothers me when you tell someone there in an issue and they just brush it off like its not their issue.

I have been going to Clarus for about 17 years now and see Dr. Waggoner. He is awesome and I would never switch eye doctors just because of him! One downside to Clarus is you are always called back way after your appointment time (15 mins seems to be the norm). They seems to always be behind.

My first visit and first cataract surgery was wonderful. Dr. Aaker is very knowledgeable and takes whatever time is needed to explain the procedure. However. my second cataract was a bit rougher and I personally believe it was because they were a little behind. I felt it was rushed and I wasn't as numb as my first eye. But even with that I was pleased with the service I received from all the surgical staff. My second post OP appointment is where the Clarus Eye Center lost my respect. I was unable to make it to my appointment by no fault of my own (life does happen and kicks us down at the most inopportune time). I had the misfortune of speaking to Corrina, she was very rude, condescending and hung up while I was asking another question. I called back to speak to a manager to no avail. I also was told one would return my call which did not happen. So my personal observation is as a patient you are treated extremely well, but God help you if there is a bump in your life and it interferes with their schedule because they are so rigid there is no room for any variance. And as the patient I had to get reamed over the coals by one of their employees Corinna. This is unacceptable in any practice. Dr. Aaker is great, but I am leery about recommending people there because of the rescheduling issue.

Tried scheduling a simple eye exam. Spoke over the phone to schedule an exam. In order to schedule an appointment for an exam they said they need my insurance information. Gave them my social and birth date. They said they could not find my coverage through vsp. Called vsp. Entered my social and birthdate through them and had no problem. Walked in to schedule an exam and ran into the same lady I had on the phone. Explained to her what we just went over on the phone. I asked her if we could have mixed any of the numbers up and she said no. Long story short she displaced very poor customer service. The reason I chose clarus was because I had a great experience the first time. This time not so much.

Update 12/18 they have a new machine that scans your eyes and approximates your prescription, this means a lot less of "...1...or 2....2 or 3"

DO NOT GO HERE! I went in three times and never received a working prescription. I went in early and they called me in way past my appointment time, then rushed my appointment and gave me an unusable prescription. I spent hundreds of dollars on glasses, only to not be able to use them. Called Clarus to get this fixed and they said I had to pay them money before they would schedule a appointment to fix this. I only had 14 days to return my glasses with a working prescription. Had to call my insurance company, and my primary care doctor to get a special authorization and go somewhere else! The most annoying attempt at getting my eye prescription updated!

Dr. Rudd and his staff were extremely helpful and provided answers to all of my questions. I now have vision that is better than 20/20.
