I recently had PRK surgery at Virginia Beach Eye Center. They provided excellent service and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have vision correction surgery. They were quick to get me in for a consultation and working with Josh was great. He was very personable. He took the time to explain the options and answer all of my questions. He was also able to ease any nervousness I had before the surgery. Dr. Kurz was very professional and I felt confident about my choice going into the procedure. The day of the surgery went great and they addressed any concerns I had at my follow up appointments. Following the surgery, Josh took the time to handwrite me a Thank You card on behalf of everyone at VBEC. I feel like they valued me as a patient and that is a great feeling after making such a big investment. I have needed glasses and contacts for more than half of my life and it feels wonderful to now be able to see without them. I appreciate everything they did to make this experience a good one.

I chose Virginia Beach Eye Center after researching several eye surgery centers in the area. VBEC had the best reviews and after having my PRK surgery here I see why. The staff is warm and welcoming from beginning to end. Josh and Dr. Garrett were very understanding to my needs as a patient and were very thorough in explanations. The staff was able to answer any questions I had at any time, even after hours. I can say with complete confidence that they genuinely care about their patients. I'm glad I chose PRK for my eye surgery and even happier it was done by Dr. Garrett and the entire team at VBEC. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. Not wearing contacts or glasses is a dream come true! I highly recommend VBEC for corrective eye surgery.

Excellent Lasik experience at VA Beach Eye Center. Once I made my decision to move forward with having my vision corrected I researched possible procedures and had evaluations with a couple highly rated local providers. VA Beach Eye Center was by far the most thorough, professional, and least pushy. Lasik is not something I'm looking for a 'deal' on....not like shopping for a used car which is the feeling I received from other Lasik providers. My Surgery Coordinator was Julianne H. who was friendly, professional and very willing to provide answers to all questions and concerns I had regarding the procedure. I was able to meet Dr. Kurz a couple times prior to my actual surgery who was also very professional, informative and at no point did I ever feel pressured into making a decision to follow through with Lasik. I would say my experience was outstanding and the results were probably well above average. Pre Lasik I was practically legally blind without contacts or glasses. Post Lasik I have 20/15 vision with virtually no side effects (slightly dry eyes when I wake up early in the morning, nothing a couple lubricating drops don't fix instantly, this has gotten better over the past couple weeks). Post opp you have one day of basically laying around the house with your eyes closed, the day after surgery I was seeing very clear just sensitive to bright light, and after a week of medicated drops a few times a day I am 20/15 and back to normal eye comfort. I should mention I am just over 2 weeks out of surgery and I have zero discomfort. I should have done this a long time ago. Thanks Virginia Beach Eye Center, Julianne, and Dr. Kurz!

I recently had Lasik surgery here and I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff is great, especially the Lasik consultant Josh. Super nice, funny, and very knowledgeable about the different Lasik options. Dr.Kurtz is also great, very accommodating and friendly. I was fortunate to have Dr. Kurz perform cataract surgery on me in November 2014. After wearing glasses for over 70 years I am now able to read, sew and do so many other things without glasses. I now only use glasses to drive and watch tv. What a difference it has made in my life. The day of surgery I was taken care of from arriving at the center until I was discharged later in the afternoon. The staff is exceptional. They could not have been more professional or caring. I just returned home from having my eyes examined at Virginia Beach Eye Center. I was seen on time, and went into a room and had some vision test done. Then I had my eyes dialated and waited in another room for a few minutes. I returned to the examination room and was examined by Dr. Kurz. He used a very bright light which was a little uncomfortable but he was patient and explained that "flashes and floaters" I just started seeing was normal for my age of 57. It means I'm getting old! I would highly recommend this office, based on my own experience here today. I will be back in one year as long as I have no other problems before then.

The process and procedure for my LASIK surgery was straightforward and stress free thanks to Josh, Dr. Kurz and his staff. I highly recommend this professional and courteous establishment!

I missed an appt in 2015. I tried to make an appt in May 2017 and the office manager said I couldn't until I paid the 50 dollars fee. I tried to explain that I missed the appointment because my dog was going through chemo and actually died around that time. She was too busy telling me that I could make payment plans and unfortunately it put a burden on the office when people miss their appointments. Hmmmm. No people skills, all about the money! I despise offices like this! I've been going there 10 years!I would have payed the money if she had asked was there a problem? but she angered me. The office is always running late anyway. Oh well time to find a new one. This is a wake up call.

Everyone i interacted with at Virginia Beach Eye Center was VERY nice and professional. They all seemed to really love working there and it showed. I would definitely recommend this clinic if you have any issues with your eyes! I know I'll be back.

Dr Kurz is awesome! He's highly skilled, polite, and explains all your options very well. I was referred for a vitreous floater, which is not a major problem, but he also found I had cataracts in both eyes, which was confirmed by my family doctor. He correctly predicted my sight would get much worse within two years and about 1.5 years later I went in because I was really having trouble seeing. He replaced both cataracts and did an astigmatism correction and I now see great. I can see fine with no glasses, except a little on distance--which he had correctly predicted. I now only wear glasses for distance, though I can now get by without them. The other staff is also nice and helpful. The only improvement I can suggest is the waiting as sometimes the wait is nothing but sometimes it's a bit long.

I have found the office staff here to be top notch. My phone calls and emails are answered promptly and courteously and they are attentive and supportive during office visits. Special thanks to Dr. Kurz for his surgical expertise and to Andrea Desmarais for her patience while explaining paperwork and answering my many questions prior to surgery. I wholeheartedly recommend Virginia Beach Eye Center!
