Horrible experience with care after cataract surgery. The doctors were arrogant and demeaning. I was very upset and frustrated because of my vision issues. The doctors’ comments were the farthest thing from caring. The staff was rude on the phone, and they just seemed like they didn’t care overall. I would never go back here. They seem to be totally motivated to get the patient in to do the surgery but after care and complications are pushed aside. Very disappointed. Had heard they were wonderful. I didn’t get that treatment.

Hi,I am writing to Review the fabulous Service I received at Commonwealth Eye care Associates, and specifically from Dr. Iuorno. I can't say enough about the excellent care I received from Dr Iuorno and his team. I was referred to Dr. Iuorno after being injured in a Tae-Kwan-Do match. After testing, I was told I had extensive traumatic injuries to my right eye. From the very start, Dr. Iuorno and his team explained to me in great detail my injuries and the steps we would take to regain my eyesight. Dr. Iuorno addressed all of my questions and concerns The team scheduled all of my appointments, testing and surgeries as well as corresponding with my employer to assure that they received all necessary documentation. Throughout the entire process, I've had the impression that I was see as part of the "team" working to reconstruct my eye and improve my vision. Dr Iuorno was professional and compassionate throughout the entire process. I felt rushed through the whole process. Cataract surgery went well. I saw the surgeon at the beginning. He was zoomy zoomy. I was told it would cost X amount. I ended getting three different bills. Final cost was 3 times more than when I was first told. Post op felt rushed like " you're good to go" and I was out the door. Wouldn't feel comfortable going to them again. Felt better with my Lasik surgeon. Unfortunately he could only do my cataract surgery in an alternate office in DC.

Extremely professional and personable staff. The check in process was a breeze . I would definitely recommend completing the requisite documents online prior to your appointment. After reading some of the reviews I was nervous about the wait time, but, was seen within 10 minutes of my arrival. The technicians and the doctor were all knowledgeable, pleasant and took ample time to ensure that I was comfortable and aware of the procedures that were taking place.

Took my Mom to the post op appointments here after cataract surgery. We were rushed through at all the appointments. We were in the middle of questions when the doctors (2 different doctors for 3 appointments) and their assistants stood up, walked to the door, held the door open, ready to leave. At the last appointment, when I wanted to make sense of an eye prescription, the doctor said "You don't need to know that" and he left.

Wait times are horrible. Have to wait at least an hour to even see the doctor after tests. This happens with every visit.

I had LASIK done by a different practice and have really dry eyes due to the surgery so came to CECA after being referred by my optometrist. I had punctal plugs placed in and for the first day, they weren't that bothersome. However, the following morning, the plugs were noticeably sticking way out of my ducts and were scratching my eyes which made them blood red and swollen. I called their office and spoke to the receptionist. I told her that I was in extreme pain and that I believed the plugs were causing potential damage. I asked to speak to the doctor who placed my plugs in and tried to ask to get seen by someone. The receptionist told me no and REFUSED to even alert the doctor of my situation. She just told me in a flat tone that I had to make an appointment with my referring optometrist to evaluate me first before their office would see me. From her attitude I honestly think she was just trying to have someone else deal with my problem! So I made an emergency appointment with my optometrist and when I saw her, she was startled to learn that they refused to see me right away that morning. She personally called their office to ensure that they would see me ASAP. By then, it was already the afternoon and my eyes were inflamed and I was in so much pain. I finally saw one of their doctors and he removed the plugs right away saying "Those definitely have to go!" (oh really? Maybe the swollen red eyeballs were a clue). He gave me prescription drops to stave off any potential infection and for the swelling. I just think the whole situation was ridiculous and that I had to suffer for all those hours because of their staff! I also agree with other regarding the wait times here--- you sit there in the room for a while just waiting for the doctor to come in and it's because they are running extremely behind. You can definitely tell that the doctors are hurrying around from patient to patient because they are overbooked. This office is sadly just about the business and not the welfare of their patients so I am never returning because I simply do not trust their staff with my eyes!

The doctor is great but it I have literally never had an appointment run on time. Every single time I have been, it is at LEAST 30 minutes late and the nurses are not very friendly. The doctors are great though. I just wish the experience wasn’t always such a nuisance

The entire process was great. Rayna and Dorsey who set up the process were beyond professional. They could not do enough to make sure I understood the steps in having the surgery. Dr. Iuorno made me feel very comfortable during the surgery. He is one great surgeon. The entire staff is just so professional. Thank you all. The only thing I would add is during my visits prior and post seemed a bit rushed as was said by other patients. Bottom line great eye care by great organization.

I life your office and staff but.... getting them to answer the phone is very difficult, I do not want to leave a meat for an appointment request. I have left them in the past and I had to call them back again. Maybe a different phone triage system????.... not sure but your providers and office staff are great in person!
