This place is a joke. My first time at the office, my PCP called for an appointment. Without my knowledge my PCP office called Capital Eye Care to set up an appointment. I was called right before clocking in at work and I decided I would call on my lunch break since that is the only time I could do it. I called and they were on lunch, I then called after lunch and they told me they would confirm another appointment. I show up to my appointment and the receptionist tells me that I owe $50 for not showing up. She then gets the billing manager to discuss it and she so rudely tells me I will not be seen without paying the $50 no show fee. I refused to pay a ridiculous amount for a service I attempted to call and cancel but they were at lunch (which I didn't know because it was my first time even going to this place). The woman banned me from the office by letter and then I received a collection agency notice. This place is a joke and don't treat their patients with courtesy or compassion.

Avoid this practice at all cost. The office manager, Maryann is the rudest person I’ve ever spoke to in my life and the entire staff are terrible to deal with. I made the mistake of calling ahead before my appointment to verify they took my new insurance. The person I spoke with was incredibly rude and told me it was against their policy to tell me if they took my insurance. Then the delightful Mary Ann called me back and was so condescending I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never had someone speak down to me like that all because I was trying to find out if they took my insurance. We had an argument when I told her I’d be telling the doctor about this at my next appointment. She seemed to not want that to happen because I received a letter from “the doctor”, unsigned that they had canceled my appointment. I’m certain this was MaryAnns doing to cover for herself.

Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever been to. Dr. Suresh G. Kamath is a sorry excuse for a doctor. Did not listen to any of my concerns over getting a procedure done and told me I was “limiting his practice” because I had questions and concerns about said procedure. Because I had these concerns he then refused to listen to me at all and just continued to prescribe me drops for my eyes which I told him I was ok with. When I left to the front desk I told the receptionist how upset I was with the man and wouldn’t be returning to see that doctor. Instead of letting me know they would cancel my prescription by the time I got to the pharmacy they just did. When I spoke to Maryanne in the Troy office to try and remedy the situation she was just as unprofessional and rude as Dr. Kamath and started taking the whole issue personally. Not to mention how the delmar office takes you in, puts you into one room just to put you back in the waiting room so you can then go to another room. All of this while you’re at a place for your eyes, you would think they would keep you in the dimly lit room. There was no concern for the patient or any of my problems at all. Malpractice at its finest here folks and the receptionists are just terrible as the doctors. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this place. If I could rate this negative stars I would.
