A little disappointed...everyone seemed nice. But also in a hurry. We sat down and they had SO much paperwork for my grandparents to fill out. It took my grandma 30 minutes to fill it all out. Most Drs these days either don’t have that much paper work, or have it online for you to print out and fill out before hand. As soon as we sat down, the place got crazy busy. Like they scheduled 15 people all at the same time. People were actually waiting in line to get to check in. Once we were finally seen, everyone speed talked and were rushing. We saw Dr Lord for less than 5 minutes. He just said “yup you have macular degeneration. We take it seriously because you only have one good eye left.” But then proceeds to say there’s nothing that can be done except take these vitamins that MIGHT help. No explanation of what it is, or anything else. When I’d try to say something I was mostly talked over. And when they asked if we had any questions it was like they were again, in a hurry and rushing to get us out. As nice as everyone was, it still felt like they were pushing us out the door to get to the next number.

Dr. Lord treated my teenager and calmly spoke to her about her condition without instilling fear. He was very matter-of-fact and made me feel at ease as a helpless Mom. We are blessed to have such a high quality, full-time retina doctor in our area! His staff let us know ahead of time what to expect with regards to wait time vs appt time, copays and other financial matters. Highly recommended!

Dr. Lord took special care with my mentally handicapped daughter. At her first appointment she began to panic when the assistant put in the eye drops to dilate her eyes Dr Lord took the time to talk to her and calm her down. The staff were all kind and understanding when we had to reschedule due to her anxiety
