Dr. Morris answered all my questions about using contacts or getting LASIK. He really helped me make an educated decision. I would definitely recommend him if you need glasses or contacts.

I had the interesting experience of having an eye procedure done here for one eye, and the same procedure done by a competitor on the other eye. Excel eye center's front staff and automated systems are highly error prone. The procedure itself seemed to be carried out well, but bedside manners were severely lacking. Follow up visits were superficial, and lacked rigor. The procedure here healed slower and the doctor was much less attentive. When it comes to your eyes - get the best and skip Excel Eye Center.

My daughter recently had a serious eye injury when an extended bungee cord was released and hit her in the eye. The doctor was friendly and very good to her. She could not do any physical activity for 3 weeks to prevent a possible re-bleed. He was firm without scaring her. The technicians were always friendly with her and made her feel comfortable. I would definitely visit here again.

I had my mother bring my daughter in for her appointment. Apparently service was refused until either my husband or I signed a patient responsibility form. I find it ridiculous even after speaking on the phone with both my husband and I that my mother in law could not have signed for us. Also, if a document can be scanned in and faxed, it can just as easily be sent in an email. Not sure why emailing the forms isn’t possible as fax machines are becoming uncommon. Lastly, if these forms are so important, maybe let the patients know up front instead of at the appointment, especially when we had to schedule an appointment over a month out just to be seen. With that long of a wait, the forms could have been mailed out to be completed and brought in at the appointment. My daughter missed an entire day of school. Not to mention my mother’s time.

Not too sure what happened here. The Dr. Hatch is a great doctor I am sure but the duration of our visit he seemed to be short with any questions that we had in regards to our 14 month old son and his specific case. My wife left with answers that were partially answered. He seemed as though he was just rushing to get us out. Our child was a little tired and fussy but I am hopeful for our next follow up we will be able to see more patience and more surety in the answers to our questions. Completely competent doctor though. Will return.

I went to their old Orem office over a year ago. It was a small office with not many choices for glasses frames in their office. I've recently found out that they've moved and have a nicer and newer office with more space! The appointment was very smooth. I didn't have any wait time and the office staff was very friendly and helpful. It was the first time I saw Dr. Hatch and he genuinely cares about his patients. I recommend excel eye center and am pleased with their work!

I would give them 5 stars but the optical place where you order glasses is driving me bonkers. It took them weeks to call me back (I left several messages) and just to place an order has been ridiculous. I would just go buy somewhere else but they have a great selection. Fingers crossed

I called to reschedule my sons appointment and after sitting on hold for five minutes it seemed someone could help me only to have it ring twice and go to voicemail. Heres a tip exccel instead of playing adds for your company maybe just some jazz for people on hold as listening to a repeating add is irritating.

I went there about a year ago and my experience was very so-so. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful when I asked about pricing. She said they wouldn't know until the exam was complete, she said the prices are always different...? So I called my insurance and they said that a normal eye exam would be completely covered. Little did I know that the doctor I saw was a specialist and he did all sorts of tests on my eyes and provided me with a lot of information, which I thought was great... Until I got my bill! He did many things that I've never had done at any other eye appointment, so I thought it was just great service. That day I was able to leave without paying because they said they would bill my insurance, then a few months later I got a bill from my insurance then from Excel saying that I owed $50 because of all the extras that Dr. Hatch did! Now I realized that my prescription expired. He only gave a 1 year prescription (when they can be good for 2 years), so I called to see if I could have my prescription extended and he said that I would have to come in for a new exam. I don't live in Orem anymore and wasn't pleased with their service, so I won't be going there, but it would have been nice to be able to avoid another eye dr visit for a while.

I love the Orem office. They have great doctors. Dr Hatch I go to for yearly exams and he is always very thorough. I go to Dr Yeates to follow my strabismus. Both doctors always answer my questions and help me understand. The wait times are never too long.

I went here for the first time today and was very impressed. We were referred by our pediatrician and my experience with both the doctors and the staff was top notch. The receptionists were very attentive and compassionate and Dr. Yeates was seriously awesome. He told me they’d dilate my daughters eyes and come back for us in 30 minutes and then they actually came back in 30 minutes. He was super calm and did a great job explaining things to me. 10/10 would recommend.

Too bad there isn't a H*** NO rating! I was referred to Dr. Abrams from my regular family eye doctor in regards to an eye muscle issue. I was told that he was the best and well worth the two hour drive! I was surprised upon arrival to find that Abrams primarily works with children so I felt a little silly as an adult sitting in a room with Disney running in the background. Honestly, when I saw Dr. Abrams for the first time, I didn't want him to touch me. I also wouldn't want him working with my children! His hygiene looks as bad as the cleanliness of the patient rooms. I found it pretty pathetic and insulting that he couldn't give me a REAL diagnosis. I explained my issue to him and he told me that nothing was wrong. After I insisted there was, he then told me I was just born with my eyes on the side of my head (not the case). I expressed much frustration to him so he sent me out to the lobby with my eye closed for fifteen minutes, when I came back to meet with him he said I have just convinced myself of the issue. Did I say how frustrated I was? Ha! His next diagnosis was that my eyelashes were too thick and blocked light to my eyes, creating an illusion. Let me add, this was all without dilating my eyes, examining or doing anything but holding his thumb up in front of my eye!!! $200 bill later...I feel cheated! Crappiest experience ever! I will be seeking a third opinion.

Needed an eye exam went to Doctor William Hatch in Orem. Was very pleased, he was very friendly, discovered I had pressure in my eyes and referred my to the Provo office for testing.

We took our daughter to Dr Yeates because she has a lazy eye. Dr Yeates was not a very personable person and for specializing in pediatrics he’s not great with kids. We were told our daughter needed glasses to help with her lazy eye. After several months it became worse, we scheduled another appt. and he then told us it was normal. (Thanks for just now telling us!) He then told us she needed bi-focals to help the glasses work better. ($500) later the problem was even worse! When we asked if surgery was an option, we were told that it was a last resort surgery and was adamant that we didn’t need surgery. We just met with Primary Childrens this week for a second opinion and were told she didn’t need bi-focals. And that the only way to correct the issue was surgery! The Dr was great with children at Primary Children’s and was very confident in her findings. A lot of money and time spent with Dr. Yeates feels to be wasted... lesson learned!

We’ve had a great experience here with Dr. Yeates. He is very knowledgeable and kind. My only complaint is that glasses seem expensive. That being said when my sons bifocals were put to low for his eye sight they covered the cost of switching them out.

Dr Yeates is great. Staff is friendly and professional. As nice as they are, we stopped going to Excel because the only treatment they could offer my child with lazy eye was eye patching. After a couple of years with no progress, Dr. Yeates said that I needed to lower my expectations. I was very disappointed that he had nothing else to offer me. I googled treatments for lazy eye & I came up with vision therapy. So I have left Excel & have gone to a more innovative eye clinic so we can take advantage of the latest therapies. I just wasn't ready to give up on my child's eye.

****Update**** After hearing about my experience I was contacted by excel to discuss my experience and what they could do to help. I was also contacted by the Dr who was also very concerned about my daughter and the situation. They worked with me and did what they could to help correct what went wrong. I am impressed by the quick response, as I did not expect one, and their willingness to do what they could to fix things. In the end my daughter has been well taken care of and excel set her up with a corrected perscription. **** I took my daughter here because I was told they are the best pediatric opthamologist in utah county. My daughter has very obvious issues with her eyes and we were told she needed glasses. So we got them and were visiting the office every couple of months and thought everything was fine and dandy. However after going to a few appointments for her eye issues and doing the recommended treatment things seemed to be getting worse. I was encouraged to get a 2nd opinion so I took her to the Moran eye center at primary children's and boy am I glad I did! My daughter's prescription was so far off and her diagnoses was wrong! Therefore the glasses that we got from excel and spent a lot of money on were completely WRONG for her making things worse. When I called to ask them about replacing the lenses on her glasses that i got from them 4 months prior to the correct prescription I was told it would be over $140. I would understand if her prescription had changed over time but this was not the case and it was so incredibly off it was causing her more issues than helping! I took her glasses else where and got the correct prescription in them for less than what excel wanted and much better much quicker service. She is like a new kid! I'm so upset that she spent the last 4 months wearing glasses that made things worse for her. I'm also upset that I have had to put so much more money into her glasses when they were wrong to begin with! Lesson learned drive the hour to primary children's!

Dr. Hatch is the most charismatic doctor I have met and it really shows how much he enjoys you coming to see him. I have been to see Dr. Wilkinson at the Provo and Orem locations and have been thrilled with the staff, the professionalism and the wonderful timeliness of all my visits. I am able to get an appointment whenever I've needed to, my office wait is less than ten minutes and many times only a couple of minutes! Dr. Wilkinson listens and has given me excellent care! I took my newborn son here because his pupils are different sizes, we had went to the ER and was told he needed to see an ophthalmologist. First, the directions to here are incorrect. Easiest if you go into the winco parking lot from the main road and turn right. Second, Dr. Yeates is not very friendly. I would ask him a question and he gave me very short responses that did not help at all. I will be finding another pediatric ophthalmologist that is educated enough to help.

Recently my 5 yr. old didn’t pass an eye test at the pediatricians office for his well check & I was recommended by others to go see Dr. Yeates in Orem. Dr. Yates saw my child he diagnosed him with astigmatism within the first couple minutes of testing him! If only I could give negative stars!! I have never left a professional office in tears before I met the staff at Excel Eye in Orem. There was only one technician who was the least bit kind. The receptionist wasn't very helpful. The technician I saw at first seemed preoccupied. The doctor was fine, but nothing to make up for how long I had waited and the indignities of the other employees. They had me sit in the waiting room while my eyes were dilating (without offering dark glasses) and then didn't call me back until after I had been in the office for over an hour. I finally got back into a room and finished my visit. I asked the "lenswear specialist" or whatever they call them about getting frames with my insurance and she rudely told me to go to Walmart. Well, maybe I will. I know one thing for sure, I will never ever go back to this place.
