Amazing staff and one of my greatest investments in myself. After dealing with being near-sided for almost 20 years, I wanted to drastically improved my vision and become less dependent on expensive and costly glasses and contacts. After doing research on the LASIK procedure and reading testimonials, I decide to go with the Texas Regional Eye Center here in Bryan, TX. Hands down one of the best experiences from start to finish. From the walk through, pricing, expectations, post procedure, and follow ups they covered it all. They have top of the line technology to meet your needs. Dr. Riggs was my surgeon and I couldn't thank him enough for taking care of me. I highly recommended that you consider this facility for your future LASIK procedure. It is worth it.

My husband is being treated by Dr Riggs for cataracts and long distance vision. First surgery was 6-29-17. Check up the next day was correction from 20/80 to 20/20!! He can hardly wait to have the other eye done. Dr and staff have been above outstanding professionals and courteous. Vision outweighed the extra cost after insurance. I will be using them for my next exam. We would highly recommend them

I went in for a laceration in my eye. Waiting time is usually a bit long, but they were able to fit me in the day I called. Dr. Lee was very kind, and very focused. He explained everything to me in detail about my injury. He was easy to understand, and he also understood me. I was prescribed antibiotics, and am recovering fast. Staff was all very fun to talk with. Great management. Center was clean and cool. Overall, five star review from your local guide.

Good service overall; just remember, this isn't Burger King. Sometimes "stuff" happens and scheduled appointments run late. The facility is inviting and very well equipped. Staff is efficient, courteous, friendly and caring. Pricing is competitive with 3 other providers in the area. And, very importantly, the surgical center is an integral part of TREC. My doctor was William Riggs, M.D. and I am very satisfied with results of my cataract surgery.

Expect to wait at least half an hour to 45 minutes to see the doctor, AFTER waiting 15-30 minutes to be taken to a room. I've been coming here for years and this has always been the case. The wait times are always ridiculously long, but I tolerated this as I had lasik surgery performed on me by Dr. Riggs years prior and he knew my eyes. After the following happened, I'm done tolerating this place and will find a better local eye doctor. The office has made minimal effort to get in touch with me regarding an outstanding bill that I was unaware of before sending it to billings. They had the wrong address on file; in fact I hadn't lived there in 6 years. They never asked me if the address was correct or if it changed, but somehow they had my married name in their system and not my maiden name. The bill in question was from an appointment a year ago, and in the TWO times I visited them since then they neglected to tell me of any outstanding bills. I never received a call or email about the outstanding bill, because (according to the woman in billings) they don't contact their clients about billing issues, only appointments. Apparently it's easier for them to contact collections and mess up their clients' credit than it is to pick up the phone and contact the client directly. On the bright side they finally got the money- all it took was a call. On the less-than-bright side, they lost the business of multiple life-long BCS residents and their rating drops that much more on Google.

Texas Regional Eye Center is a professional, well staffed, eye clinic and eye surgery center - with Texas Regional Eye Center conveniently located within the same office. When I moved from Dallas I was sure I would have to travel to another large city to find quality eye care for my glaucoma Doctor/specialty requirements and I quickly learned I was so wrong! Texas Regional Eye Center offers the same high quality care and professional services found in metropolitan cities without the traffic, hassles and paid parking lots associated with big city clinics. So happy to have this resource here in the Brazos Valley!

Visiting Texas Regional is like homecoming. They welcome you with smiles. I had a bump on my eyelid. It wasn’t painful. But as I was advised, it was growing in size and could eventually be intrusive under my lid. It was affecting my confidence. My eye makeup no longer covered it. Dr. Wutherich removed it with zero discomfort. My lashes are back to normal! No longer do I worry it was growing or if others noticed it! Thank you. Texas Regional does not accept my insurance. I don’t choose what insurance wants. I choose my doctors.

I went for a routine eye exam and was told that I had a very bad cataract. I couldn’t see a thing out of my right eye. They recommended me to an ophthalmologist in town. I tried calling them several times but got no answer, so I drove up to their office to schedule an appointment. The staff was rude! They were not welcoming or approachable whatsoever, so I left and googled other ophthalmologist in this area. I called Texas Regional Eye Center, and was able to get in to see Dr Riggs that same week. Although, he has performed thousands of these surgeries, I was still scared and worried. He explained the entire procedure from beginning to end, and prayed over me before leaving his office! How great is that!!! I was in the doctors office no more then 2 hours the morning of surgery. The procedure itself was about 10 minuets!! The most uncomfortable part of this entire event was all the eye drops used to dilate and numb my eye! I had no complications and no discomfort whatsoever!! My eyesight is amazing! Everything is so clear and colorful! If you have a cataract or are looking into LASIK, this is the place to go! The front office staff are very kind & welcoming. Jessica is really sweet and very knowledgeable in her field. Betty was so kind and eased my nerves before surgery. Christy, was the nurse that prepared me for surgery, and administered all the eye drops and the IV! She was amazing and funny! I highly, highly recommend Dr Riggs and his team at Texas Regional Eye Center.

Inconsiderate and rude office staff - highway robbery on prices for contacts and glasses. They treat you as though it is a privilege for them to take their precious time to deal with you. Then they want to charge you a premium price for that privilege. Too bad one cannot offer negative stars.

After many years of wearing contacts I finally got LASIK eye surgery and my life changed! It is the best thing to be able to wake up and see things clearly immediately. It has been wonderful being able to swim and do other water activities without worrying about losing my contacts. Another plus is all of the money we have saved by not having to buy glasses and contacts anymore. Dr. Varvel answered all of my questions and took really good care of me. The procedure was quick and painless. If you are considering LASIK go to Texas Regional Eye Center and ask for Dr. Varvel!

I had lasik eye surgery on 24 January, 2017 and now it's Thursday and I can see really well. I went with Dr. Wuthrich and his staff after he had performed surgery on my father a few years ago. I was extremely nervous, because I need my eyes to do my job as well as enjoy my hobby of photography. Dr. Wuthrich talked me through the procedure and answered all the questions I had. The surgery itself was pretty painless and only felt a few moments of irritation and it was very fast. I've worn glasses since I was 9 and soft contacts since I was 13 and my most recent contact prescription was -7.50 in both eyes. It feels great to be able to wake up and not fidget for my glasses. I would highly recommend Dr. Wuthrich if you are thinking about getting lasik, even if it's only for a consolation.

They went above and beyond to help me. Dr. Wuthrich was willing to see me last minute to remove something from my eye, rather than making me wait for the next day. I'm sorry I don't remember the names of the ladies at the front desk and the lady who assisted Dr. Wuthrich remove the "thing" stuck in my eye, but thank you all!

My father was scheduled for cataracts surgery, though ended finding a different place to get the procedure done. My parents were not treated well there and came home upset. I called Texas Regional Eye Center to express my disappointment in the rude way my parents were treated. I spoke with someone named Kristy, who was cold and apathetic on the phone. I told here I would be leaving an unfavorable review. Then I got a call from Robin, who might have been the office manager, but she was only focused on convincing me not to leave a bad review. She could have cared less about how my parents were treated. Not a good experience with that place.

I would like to share my customer experience with Texas Regional Eye Center. My wife and I schedule our appointment two weeks in advance at 0800 this morning. After arriving early - before any other patients, having our paperwork filled out, we waited....and after 15 minutes past our appointment time, we asked if there was an issue, and were told, "The doctors could be late, and just because we were first in the office, doesn't mean we will be seen first, and we would be seen shortly." My appointment time was for 0800, and my wife's was for 0820. Five other people were called before my wife, then she was called in, then an additional two other people were called. At 0830, I was still not called back. There are only five doctors listed, and I was still not seen. By this time the waiting room had more than 25 people in it. I informed the staff that I was leaving, and that I was 30 minutes past my appointment time. If you were interviewing an applicant for a position, would you hire them if they showed up 30 minutes late? I would not recommend Texas Regional Eye Center to anyone, unless they want to spend long amounts of time waiting.

First, let me start off by saying this is the first review I have ever written. My experience at Texas Regional Eye Center was so atrocious, I could not let this one go. I am currently studying for my state board exams which have been giving me headaches, nausea, and vertigo as a substantial portion of my studies are on a computer. Two months ago I had received a pair glasses which modestly eased these symptoms, and I wanted to go see a doctor to see if these problems could finally be resolved. The agony of studying 10 hours a day with dizziness and headaches was just too much, so I decided to schedule an appointment at Texas Regional Eye Care with Dr. Riggs. My appointment was scheduled for 8:40 in the morning, and I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment with my completed paper work in hand. I didn’t see the doctor until 9:40. Once he entered the room, I told him a brief description of what my symptoms were and the troubles I was having. Dr. Riggs then preceded to say the vision problem I was having was “the laughing stock of Optometry school.” Absolutely no empathy or concern was shown for the problems my eyes were causing. Then he simply did a single test that lasted about 30 seconds and said there was nothing he could do for me. His advice was basically “don’t look a computer screen” and to “experiment” with over the counter reading classes. Within 5 to 8 minutes after his arrival, the appointment was over and he immediately proceeded to the next patient. I left the room shocked that I had come here for this brief and meaningless interaction. After payment, I was back in my car and headed home by 9:50. If you want to be treated like a real person and not like another revenue source, I would not recommend coming here.

In July 2016 I had cataract surgery here and Dr. Riggs was my surgeon. I cannot express how smooth the surgery went and Dr. Riggs was so nice to work with.
