UPDATE: From a big misunderstanding to everything being fixed. Thank you so much Megan. Wonderful come back. Will definitely come back to this location when I need new lenses.

We had gone to several "specialist" around town. After three years he solved in six a lot of my daughters problems. After surgery he called us on his personal cell phone to make sure we were okay! Dr. Cohen the Ecke's will be forever grateful for you! Now my daughter wants to be an eye doctor!

I was recently treated rudely by one of your employees named Esther. I will not be a customer at mcoa any longer

We arrived early, checked in on screen and paid co-pay. Coffee was cold and seating arrangement was a bizarre mess. After waiting 45 minutes, my husband was annoyed that they didn’t respect our time more than that, so he asked for a return of his co-pay which was given, and we left. We Did not have an opportunity to see if the Dr was any good, but hate it when an office overbooks, as if their time is so much more valuable than yours.

I hate the sign in computer. I was forced to pay $45 for a prescription for glasses I didn't want. I plan on finding a new doctor who is more customer friendly.

I called & was put on hold as 14th in line. After finally getting to 1st a recorded voice said all personnel were busy & it put me at 13th. I waited again & the same thing happened. There is no other # to call to tell them the sad state of affairs with their line.

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT Was ATTEMPTING to have eyelid surgery and that went DOWN THE DRAIN. Back in April went to the office to pay my Portion of Out of Pocket expense in the amount of 866.10 for Lid Surgery. Once paid and ppwk signed, i was advised you need to contact the Surgery Center to see THEIR Portion of Out of Pocket expense. ( i didn't know i was going to owe another business, as i was advised in advance my cost was 866.10....so that is what i budgeted for). Once i contacted the surgery center the additional fees were right at 1400.00... Needless to say... I had to postpone the surgery till my deductible was met. Requested a REFUND of the 866.10. Surgery Coordinator C.S. stated she understood and apologized she FAILED to mention the ADDITIONAL fees before taking my payment for them and scheduling the surgery. She stated she could put me on the schedule 6 months out as that is the time limit of scheduling. Was placed on sch for early September. WELL.... This is where is goes DOWN HILL... I called to state my deductible was met and wanted to see what i would now owe and get the ball rolling. Was NOW advised... since i waited TOO long I HAVE TO START OVER. I have to PAY to do all the test again and PAY to see the Doctor again!!! Due to the employees in ability to give the patient CORRECT information...TWICE... I am HAVING TO PAY AGAIN !! I called the Office Manager M.M. and expressed my concerns. I was basically told in a scripted Voice SORRY... You have to do this and pay again or NOTHING else can happen. The Co-pay will NOT be waived. The Fees for the Test will NOT be waived ! OH..... lets not forget the 866.10 that was SUPPOSE to be Refunded. I have NOT received that refund yet. This Business is TERRIBLE to the patient and will simply say SORRY, They are not willing to do anything to make what They Wronged... Right. If you are thinking of doing business here BEWARE !!

This is one of the most unethical and unprofessional medical offices I've ever experienced. They are not in the business of treating patients; they are in the business of profiting off of cash cows, the patients they push through as quickly as they can. I had two appointments, one with Dr. Jason Burns and the other with Dr. Darren Bell. The first appointment was for a vision test. I've had some blurriness and realized that I needed some glasses. I have been 20/15 for years and am now apparently 20/25. Burns asked if I really wanted glasses since I didn't really need them. He literally said, "I think you've been spoiled...most people would kill to have 20/25 vision." Had he been joking, I could have seen passed the shaming. However, he was absolutely serious. I had to ASK for my prescription. During this visit he noticed what could be a retinal tear. He referred me to his colleague, Darren Bell. I was scheduled for 3:15pm but showed up at 3:20pm due to construction on Babcock (I called ahead to warn them and they told me to come in and they would see what they could do). We arrived and I was going to check in with the front desk, however a little old man who helps with the automated check-in, a gentleman named Rob, said I needed to check in at the automated machine. I told him I was late and I wasn't sure they could see me. He insisted and assisted me with the check-in. We sat down and were subsequently called back by the young receptionist who informed us that, unfortunately, Dr. Bell would not be able to see me today. I begged, saying that I had called ahead, I was only 5 minutes late, and I had taken the afternoon off of work (and my fiance had taken the afternoon off of work, as well). She insisted he could not see us because we were 5 minutes late and that that was "non-negotiable". I then said I wanted my $50 refund. She then informed me that they would keep the payment for my next visit, to which I informed her "I want my $50 back; that is non-negotiable, because I'm never coming back here." She said she could not process our refund that day. My fiance then asked to speak with the manager/patient coordinator. Melissa Perkins came out and she was the only professional we dealt with that day. She tried to go ask if the doctor would see us, but then returned to tell us he could not because he had a patient in surgery that he needed to go attend to, however, she would process our refund immediately. In essence, we were 5 minutes late and the physician could not see us because he needed to be in surgery. This means that we would have been rushed in and out, like the first visit with Burns, and that we would not have had time to ask questions and get the appropriate and thorough care. We are nothing but cash cows in this establishment. We are not treated as humans; we are nothing more than profit for them. Do yourself a favor and go see someone else. This office is not about healing people, but rather about turning a quick buck and making profit. I will be filing a BBB report as well.

To register you use a kios which was new to me. I had to ask another patient for help in registering because there was no staff to help me. I was expecting no co-pay but there was a $40 co-pay. I was given a paper with my user ID and temporary password at the time of payment and told that I would have access to my records and prescription if I needed glasses. The tech that actually entered my information into the computer had limited medical knowledge. She had me spell my medication and she entered them. I will say that I was not required to wait any length of time to be seen. The exam went well. I was asked if I wanted to get my glasses there and I said yes knowing that if they were to expensive I could take my prescription elsewhere to have it filled. I went to the area where the frames were and there were 2 ladies working in the area waiting on customers so I took a seat. One of the ladies acknowledged me and told me she would be right with me. After the gentleman she was helping left she left for a minute the returned as I was getting ready to take my turn a lady approached her and began speaking to her in Spanish. The lady took that customer instead of me ,so I left. The next day I was going to have my glasses made somewhere else so I open up my patient portal and there was no prescription. I returned to the office to find out what the problem was. I was told there would be a $45 charge for the prescription. I have since talked to all my friend that wear glasses and none of them have ever paid for a prescription. So in short. No one to help me with the kios, they allow someone to cut in line in front of me. And now charging for a prescription. It’s the principle. I refuse to pay for the prescription. I will not be going back. If I have to pay for an exam out of pocket even though I am disabled and on a fixed income I will. I do plan to file a complaint with the medical board regarding charging for the prescription. They do provide fresh baked cookies and coffee I received a response to this post with a number to call for a clarification for the charge for the prescription so I called the number and left my name and phone number but now 24 hours later I have not received a call back. Please check all the reviews. I wish I had before I chose to use their services.

Would give a zero if I could. Staff is extremely unprofessional and too lazy to call the 1-800 number to verify insurance. Waits are long and waiting rooms are dirty. I wish I had read the reviews before making an appointment. I feel sorry for the ophthamologists who have to put up with such inconsistency in an organization. Just sad.

Thanks MCOA for being there for me. My cataract surgery 2 years ago was a tremendous success. Vision 20/20 now. I am a Veterans Choice referral and I chose your clinic and doctors and wow have I've been fortunate. Thanks to all the Doctors of MCOA

Wow. I spent 1 hour and 40 minutes after my appointment time sitting in the waiting room for the doctor to spend no more then 5 minutes with my child. I have spent the last two years trying to correct her vison and you cant even ask if she is seeing well or has any questions. Seriously, this is what is wrong with Healthcare these days. We spend thousands of dollars to care for our familes just to sit in waiting rooms and recieve inadequate care.

I am looking for a place because I’m a disabled veteran and I am checking reviews. My concern with this review is the doctor charging for the eye prescription. This sounds ludicrous because the insurance pays for this. Hmmm I think I will look at other places. This practice does not sound right. Sorry you did not get treated right, try being a vetern.

Chris Bermea

I have been coming here for years....and each time I am so impressed by my docs knowledge and bedside manner. I always am made to feel very comfortable and the staff is like family to me. I have referred several friends and all have not been disappointed.

Jennifer Ramirez

When one first walks in, there is a receptionist sitting right in front of the door to welcome customers and provide assistance which makes it an inviting environment. The receptionist then directs you to sign in at one of the kiosks which makes it easy and convenient for me to sign in but may be troublesome for those who are not tech savvy. Depending upon the time and day of the appointment determines the wait but its not excruciatingly long. Once called for measurements and eye dilution drops they have you sit in a separate waiting room for another 30 minutes which can be unnerving especially with children. Then when one finally is seen by the doctor it only takes 20 minutes for the exam and prescriptions. Unfortunately I did not purchase my eye wear from their office because that would have took 1 to 2 weeks to recieve my glasses. I suggest going to an outer source for glasses because their selections were limited and pricey. As for the visit, the environment is welcoming and comfortable, the staff is friendly and professional, the wait can be unnerving just as any other, and the products are a bit pricey. Overall go for the exam but elsewhere for the eyewear.

I've been a patient here about 15 years. My boys too. I have spent countless hours waiting to see the doctor. Billing department is terrible, very unprofessional. I literally spent the entire day trying to get ahold of Rosie in billing. When we finally got in touch she treated me like I was an idiot and was so rude. . I guess it doesn't matter how long you've been a patient. I'm pretty sure my vision was ruined w a particular procedure for dry eye. I will never go back here!

Tonie Marie Tenorio

I've had eye surgery twice with Dr. Burns at his Huebner road location and each time I was treated with the most professional care. I recuperated as expected and have not had any post surgical difficulties. Follow-up appointments are always easy to schedule. I will have eye issues that will require life long care and i'm very secure that Dr. Burns and his team of experts are right there with me.

R Lee

I've been a patient of MCOA for over 6 years. I was seeing Dr. Singer for my Retina issue but switched to Dr. Orozco as my Optometrists. They are always very detailed and took their time to explain the issues. They maybe slower but I know I'm not getting rushed out so they can fill another room like other places.

I am a disable veteran and this appt. was scheduled by the VA and I was informed by the VA that they will pay for it and I still received a statement to pay 120.00. When I checked in for this appt. the receptionist was informed that I was a disabled veteran.

Company lost my sons frame. They said they would make a second pair for us until they could locate his. We had to pick a color they had in stock. Now my son is walking around with Elsa blue glasses. Not cool! We had to pick what they had in stock. I was told Jeff the optical shop manager would call us back with an update. He has yet to return my calls. I've been waiting since January. The company has more excuses than anything! All I want is for them to replace my sons black frame!

I have been bringing both my children to MCOA to see Dr. Cohen for almost five years. I love the service and the information that we are given. Dr. Cohen is so patient and calm with my boys, who like other children obvious don't appreciate going to the doctor. The office is always clean and well taken care of. I will continue to bring my boys to this office and will always recommend the other doctors at MCOA.

A bit of a wait but very happy with my appointment and the staff

Please, if you are reading this, DO NOT go to MCOA if your are seeking eye care. I was treated by "Dr." Angela Rowden. She immediately looked at my eye and said the infection would not go away. I still asked if she could give me another type of antibiotic which she agreed to do. Well, the infection began to disappear. Slowly, but surely my eye began to look a whole lot better. I asked for a refill and she refused. Even though I sent her before and after photos. She wanted me to pay for a follow up, only to tell me NOW that the infection would return. Really? First you say it won't go away and now you say it will go away but end up returning. She kept insisting on surgery. They don't try to work with you, they quickly jump into finding ways to take more money out of you. They give you instant negative feedback. Please, if you truly care about the well being of your eyes, DO NOT come here. Go elsewhere. Never will I come back here. And Thank God, that I never allowed Angela Rowden to touch my eyes, because I am sure she would have left me blind.

Allen Burns

Pitiful! I made my appointment for first thing in the morning so I could get to work. Appointment time 8 am. The time I actually saw the physician at 845 am. I made it a point to be there at 730 am. First thing, you sign in and pay. Then you get taken to the back so a technician can do the preliminaries. Then you wait, wait and wait some more. While waiting, I saw a line at the water station. All employees filling their water bottles. Finally, I get called. I tell the next technician that it will be my last time there. He tells the physician and she says oh, so you're moving. Nope! I'm getting another physician who is more concerned about my time. I'm not retired so I don't have all day to sit around waiting for you all to finish discussing eye make and watching the employees fill their water bottles. I had to ask if they were going to check the osmolality for my tears as I was there for a followup for dry eye. Oh, we can do that. Daaa. If you have all day, be my guest, but if you have another appointment or work, best look elsewhere. The physician said well, there are 12 physicians here. So, if you can't get one patient in an out in a timely manner, you suck!

Blanca Calderon

If you don't have a job because they will make you lose it they don't follow the appointment time. If your taking your parent make sure you took the whole day off and bring them something to eat and drink, most important bring them a comfortable chair.

What I Iike the most is the Doctor and his staffs take their time in term of explaining and educate me about my eyes care... Also the waiting time is reasonable and the registration/checking in process is very users friendly...

This office has been a bad choice from the beginning. Jennifer, surgery coordinator, is rude & unprofessional. I would never trust this office with my vision.

I had surgery with Dr. Rowden. It was to remove excess skin over my eyelids and I was told my muscle was not holding my right eyelid up and that need to be shorten. This has been the worse experience ! I informed them that I had bleproplasty 15 yrs. ago. Removal of excess skin above eyelids. She agreed I needed the muscle shortened on my right eye. Never did I think I would have to question an ophthalmologist about making sure nothing would be done to impare my eyesight. After surgery my right eye which had the muscle shortened looked very different than my left eye. It was much more open. Her remark was, that eye is very open and looks good. Many of my patients like the one so much they come back for the other one. I also had surgery on the other eye and was expecting them both to end up looking the same. I looked worse after surgery than before. She talked about raising my left eye to match. I went into this thinking I would come out with both eyes looking the same. This was the least of my problems!!! I was no longer able to see clearly out of the right eye. Everything was extremely blurry even with my glasses on. I was given tears and three week appointments. This went on for several months. By now I was very concerned because my dominate eye that I could see very clearly with was now blurry, sensitive to light, and secreting mucus. Long story short, she took too much skin off the muscle and then proceeded to do blephroplasty on my eyelid right over the scare of my previous. 15 yr. old surgery. You do not cut over an old scare. You have to go above so the scare will heal and not be seen. On top of an old scare leaves the incision thick and it will not heal so you can not see it. Professional? I don’t think so. The Worst has been that I cannot see out of my right eye. She eventually had to go back in and release the muscle on my right eye to allow my eye to close. Her remark was, let’s hope this works! Really, is that what you want to hear? Unfortunately, it didn’t work! It has now been nine months and my right eye is no better than the day after surgery. Because my eye does not close all the way my cornea drys out and that causes the blurriness. It is painful, very sensitive to light. I work on the computer and have a very difficult time seeing. I did see their cornea specialist who, after eyeballing my eye, pronounced my eyelid to be closing. This came four days after I had seen my glaucoma specialist, who after checking my pressure looked at my eye under his scope and said I had scratches on my cornea due to dry eyes and my eye lid was definitely not closing and recorded a number. Unbelievable that Dr. Sharma, their cornea specialist four days later looked at my eye by standing in front of me and said my eyelid was closing. I guestioned her because I knew my glaucoma specialist had recorded what he saw. She didn’t like that I challenged her and told me she didn’t know what another Dr. saw she could only say what she saw. She then said she had no need to see me further and to keep my appointment with my glaucoma Dr. In 6 months. If you want cosmetic surgery of any kind go to a plastic surgeon. I did 15 years ago in another state. It turned out beautiful with no complications. I had never heard of occular plastic surgeons and it is my opinion that the eye industry jumped into this to capitalize on the cosmetic industry. They are not trained like a plastic surgeon is trained. Plastic surgeons understand that everyone is different and their surgeries must be adapted to each person. Dr. Rowden told us she uses algorithms and if you don’t fit it......too bad! I am now looking for a cornea specialist that has experience as I am concerned that my cornea is always blurry.

Maribel Solis

ZERO STARS...I went to the eye doctor and they gave me pink eye medicine. I TOLD the Dr I did not think it was pink eye...well a couple of days later it was WORSE. I had to go in on a Saturday. I had a stye as I suspected with all my allergies. I was charged twice even after I was misdiagnosed the first time. 180 dollars x 2. I tried to get them to remove the second change or charge a lesser fee. Called TWICE. They never returned my call. I paid both fees and I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

Roberta Dobie

Huebner road is great! Been going for at least 10 years. Always efficient & professional staff. Tried Stone Oak this past visit. 3 months later, went back to Huebner to straighten issues I had at Stone Oak. Plan to be a customer at Huebner forever!

Good experience so far. I was a little unhappy that it took so long to get my sons glasses (they were on back order). But it really wasn't their fault.

The check in is not very personal or professional. Checking in on a computer and never being greeted is not very professional. I had to help an elderly lady with hers because the receptionist is talking about thier personal lifes to one another. When I gave my concern to the reciopsionist I was told it was easier for them. The staff is nice. But the check in process needs much improvement. It's a big turn off.

Laura Abdo

My daughter and I both had appointments this morning at 8:45, it took 3 hours ! Dr Ismaili spent a total of 15 minutes with us combined. Her focus was clearly to make money, trying to persuade me to order contacts through their office rather than online and pushing daily disposable contacts$$$. Our vision insurance coves eye exams, but they charged us an extra $65 each for a contact exam although one of our prescriptions didn't change . We will not return.

Blanca Gonzalez

Dr. Cohen is the best! He treats his clients with the best care. Our son's strabismus surgery was very successful!

I have been a patient for many years and have seen the Same Doctor, Dr. Bourns, all this time. He has provided me with good vision, I can see 20/20 but he has provided me with glasses which provide me with better three Demention. My cataracs were removed and now I will have my drooping eye lid fixed so that it will not cover part of the vision. Highly recommend their service.

Kimberly Jones

Worst Experience Ever!!!! I was born with crossed eyes and had three corrective eye surgeries to fix this issue before the age of three. I have been going to an Optometrist for glasses and contacts but thought i would go get a check up from an Ophthalmologist to make sure my muscle still looked good and healthy since i had been having some turning of one of my eyes. First of all i had to wait for 30 minutes past my appointment time after they tell you to get there early to fill out paperwork. So in actuality i had to wait 45 minutes. Once the MA called me back, she tried to take my medical history which took another 20-25 minutes because i had to tell her how to spell words and and medications, which is unacceptable as a Medical Assistant and very unprofessional. Once i got to see the Doctor, he started asking very detailed questions about my surgeries, which i didn't know due to them being all before the age of three. He wanted me to call my mom which i did and she was unsure since it had been 36 years ago and the Dr. seemed very irritated that she didn't know every single detail. The Dr. Looked at my eyes and said well, we can do surgery! Come back next week and let me know. I told him, i didn't want surgery i wanted to check my eye health and muscles and he said again ok i will see you next week. Once i went upfront to check out the lady tried again to schedule an appointment for a week out and i said IM NOT COMING BACK. I was there from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm and my appt was at 2:00 pm I work at a Medical Facility and that is just not right!

Amanda Schubach

Horrible place. Take forever, do thier jobs half hearted. I hate bringing my grandfather here.

Christine King

I would give 0 stars if I could. I had them verify with insurance, confirm pricing, went in for my appointment, and was surprised with a $185 bill for a basic new patient exam. Not at all what I was promised and told by their employees what it would be. I told them the entire visit I only wanted to do what my insurance would cover and keep the cost low, and then find out insurance paid $65 and I owe $185. They're super expensive and will lie to you to get you to come in and go through with them. Straight up bait and switch robbery and thievery .

Kristin R

Very disappointed. My 3 yr old daughter started going cross eyed so I made an urgent appointment. They seemed very impersonal. Definitely not kid friendly. There was 1 toy in the entire office that looked like it had never been cleaned-very disgusting. Yes the doctor knows what hes doing but no interaction or rapport was attempted with my daughter. The tech (a young girl that looked very irritated to even be in there) dilated her eyes without any notice to her or me. No warning to me that it may hurt her, which it did. I got moved to the eye glass store (inside the office) which set her up with glasses. Had I known this wasn't mandatory I would have gone somewhere cheaper. 4 hours and $350 later (only have PPO medical) they said her glasses will be ready in 7-10 business days. Its been 3 weeks and still no glasses. I've called 15x, left 3 messages, left my twice with the answering service, got hung up on, placed on hold for 15 min only to be transferred to the same voicemail I was trying to avoid. Complete BS.

Near 5:00 pm and my eye started having very scary things happen, seeing a haze over eye and images like lighting bolts. I called , paniced and the person answering the phone got me an appointment the next morning. Was still afraid to wait and just wanted to talk to a doctor. I was given an after hours number. Doctor on call, called me within 5 minutes, Dr. Sharma, who was beyond kind. She said I should be okay to wait for Dr. appointment next day, and that she was really happy I was seeing Dr. Evans. She stressed if anything changed, not to hesitate to call back. I was thankful to be fitted it. What was and is happening is very scary and not a norm. Dr. Evans saw me and he was so kind, professional and explained what was going on and that he would help me get set up to see Retina specialist in two week. Again, he is really wonderful, cannot say enough good things about him. The only regret is that after I got home I could think clearly and now have more questions. My eye is still doing things that scare me, and I only wish I could get in sooner to see the Retina Specialist. However, I know that if something happens, I can call and get in. Again, so thankful to the lady who took the time at close of day to get me an appointment so soon. Rob, at front-entrance desk was also terrific. He was kind, funny and very helpful with the kiosk that I was not familiar with. Dr. Evans, thank you for your patience and kindness. You are a good man.

good doctors but billing is a nightmare...tell you your portion will be one amount ..then send you bills for different amount plus their surgical center bills seperately and dont try to call and get an estimate from surgical center cause they wont call you back.. im done with these people..

Mike Machado

I have nothing but good things to say about my interaction here. Dr. Nancherla was very kind and informative on all the questions I had - he never made going to the eye doctor so easy. He helped me get the perfect prescription and now I can see better than ever. Definitely going back and 100% recommend going here! I'll be back in six months!

If I could give less than one star, I would. I am an adult who has never had vision issues. I originally saw Dr. Cohen. He was extremely dismissive, rushed and didn’t answer my questions. I was the sent to a location across town to get a prism for my glasses- Dr. Cohen clearly didn’t listen when I told him that I don’t wear glasses. This took several hours to resolve this issue. I made another appointment when the prism wasn’t working. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. I went to the front to ask how long it would be, and I was told the Dr. had 4 patients in front of me. At this point, I requested a refund of my copay and left. Very poorly run and overbooked.

This is the worse case scenario of a place to seek eye care. Send me home with fully dilated eyes and did not care to correctly fix my eye prescription after my visit. They make up their own rules in regards to refunds and are out to take your money. I DO NOT recommend this place. The contact lenses manager Melissa is very unprofessional, rude and needs a lesson on common courtesy. I called her 12 times and left messages only returned my call once as a missed call. A 1 star only to be post this

Rose Gonash

Rehna Ismaily O.D. was brilliant. She was very patient and explained everything to me. In fact everyone there was very courteous.

Went here for 4 yrs. - annual wellness exams - Different Dr. every year. This year, I scheduled annual exam, the Dr. decided this wasn't a annual exam and coded exam differently. Insurance I have only pays for annual exam. Called Eye Dr. office to have them correct code as annual exam and they refused.... So, I paid them and will NEVER go back. Good job!!!! NOT

Bruce Darden

This is a large practice with professionals in every field. Sometimes you may have to compromise and visit a second office in order to get the appointment time you need. But surprise, the medical assistants for your doctor also travel from office to office. I have received the most encouraging care as an older patient (60) learning to wear contact lenses.

I always enjoy my experiences at MCOA but particularly my last experience was the best. I bent my wire rimmed glasses and needed them to be repaired. Jackie fixed them as good as possible but I wanted to get my new prescription filled. Since I am disabled Jackie brought me some frames from the display area. This was so helpful to me since it would have been extremely difficult for me to walk around and make a selection. Jackie is such a friendly helpful person that I left MCOA with beautiful frames for my new glasses. When I returned to pick up my new glasses she helped me again with the fitting. I just want to say that Jackie is a tremendous asset to MCOA.

Bad place. My husband came here for Retina Surgery. Every office visit with the Doctor was at the Huebner location. Turns out the actual sergury was at another location and the post-op visit was yet at another location (Stone Oak-completely out of our way). The office staff was confused, they have no communication with each other. We paid the entire balance for the surgery at the time of our visit. The surgery coordinator left the office twice to verify what was owed. He was very confused. The next day we received a call that we owed the entire balance. We explained that we paid already. We were put on hold for what seemed like forever. Finally they come back on the line and said said oops, the charge was actually for the facility where you will be having your surgery. 3 office visits and this charge was never disclosed to us. Lastly the medication...the doctor proscribed 3 medications that nearly totaled the price of the surgery. I called for 2 days and left messages that were never returned. Since my husbands surgery was soon and we were headed into the weekend, we had no choice but to pay for the medicines. All in all the total cost for a "Simple, Out Patient Surgery" is up to $6000.00 dollars. Who knows about tomorrow hidden charges. If you need surgery and are scared as it is... you will find no comfort here. The doctors are in a rush, eager to get to the next patient. Never again! Update! Day of the surgery! Doctor was late. Was told to be at the surgery site @ 8am filled out paperwork and was called back for prep at 9:15. At 9:30 We were told the doctor had just arrived and we had another patient in front of us. At 11:15 we were still waiting.

Minimum wait and competent doctors and staff.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They are rude, they hang up on you, they don't answer the phone; you have to wait for HOURS before they'll see you. Just awful.

The all of the staff of this company are some of the best in San Antonio and I would recommend them to anyone needing this service.

I came in despair hoping my husband could be sqeezed in today. His appt is next Thursday but he experienced blurred vision yesterday. I worried because he's diabetic. Brandy came within 15 minutes of researching a time, and managed to get him in at 4::00pm. Did I mention that Brandy was bombarded by at least 4 different people, each with an issue, during those 15 minutes she was solving my problem? She was very professional, yet very caring with all of us. Shes a great asser to your staff.

Tried these guys out. Very short wait during which I was able to pick out some awesome frames. Incredibly friendly staff.. I highly recommend this place.

I had a very good experience with MCOA and Dr. Patel. I'm a doctoral student over at UTSA and I spend a lot of time looking at computer screens while reading and writing. Recently I had been experiencing dry eye and blurred vision as well as seeing starburst around lights after looking at my computer all day long so I made an appointment with Dr. Patel at MCOA. He did an exam and did a very good job explaining that because I was using my eyes more this can clog the glands that make oil lubricating the lens of the eye and to help treat the underlying cause of my dry eye he suggested doing a treatment to clean my eyelids lids of any bacteria that could be clogging my glands and Lipiflow to remove the hardened oil that had built up in these glads which would allow them to produce more tears in the future. While unfortunately the Lipiflow treatment was not covered by insurance I do think it was worth it. After getting the treatment and following following Dr. Patel's recommendations for a few weeks my dry eye stopped and I would only have slightly blurred vision once every 2 weeks that would go away after I blinked a few times instead of every day like it was prior to the treatment. After the treatment I feel like I could work and look at screens for longer periods of time than I could before the treatment as well as having a better understanding of what I needed to do to protect my eyesight in the future. I highly recommend this to anyone who uses their eyes heavily and is experiencing dry eye rather than simply using eye drops which only treat the symptoms of dry eyes and don't address the underlying cause.

This was my first visit and I was impressed with how easy it was to sign in on a kiosk. There was no new patient paperwork to complete - that information was entered in the computer by the assistant in the exam room. The assistant and Dr. Stewart were great. Friendly and thorough. I felt very confident with my new prescription. Highly recommend MCOA and keep in mind it’s a high volume practice so lots of people around. That said, I got in a little before my appointment time. Love that.

I would also give a 0 if I could. I waited 40 minutes just to pick up a trial pair of contacts for my son. I had to do that because it's been 10 days already since we had our visit and ordered a 6 month supply. At the Huebner location 1 young girl is manning the optical for 12 doctors. That is ridiculous!!!

Over an hour behind schedule. If I have an appointment, I can't be spending all day waiting for an exam... The staff was also unprofessional - I'd expect at least business casual at a physician's office.

Bobby Schneider

Some staff can a little "iffy" at times, but Dr Evans is top notch. Takes what ever time is needed - never rushed through an appointment. He takes time to talk you through your concerns and makes sure you understand and are comfortable with what needs to be done and why. He is everything you would want an ophthalmologist to be.

Dr. Cohen saw my daughter for her very first eye exam. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
