Being new to the Tyler, Texas, area I made an appointment with Dr. Fisher for my 11 year old daughter based on reviews by other patients. Dr. Fisher was very thorough with her exam and talked to my daughter on a level she could understand. I was very pleased with Dr. Fisher and her staff. The only thing I didn't know ahead of time is the patient has to file his/her own insurance. All the paperwork to file the insurance was given to me so that makes it easier to file insurance.

I didn't have a satisfying initial experience w/Dr Fisher. Very little conversation making the visit seem awkward. No eye health or safety suggestions or recommendations! My previous optometrist made excellent suggestions/recommendations. Also, fully explained my eye conditions, their history and what to do about them. Why dilate my eyes then have me sit in the lobby for 10 minutes when there were no other clients in the building only to go back and sit in the same chair? That's never happened to me. Made an alarming health statement with no explanation! Didn't take the time to explain though there were no clients in the lobby when I left. My doctor visit found nothing of concern. Went next door and got fitted for new digital lenses. I would not recommend them. It took a month to adjust to them because when looking at an object it must be done directly. If not it will cause the object to appear distorted. Also no significant improvement to warrant the extra cost. Got a message I have an appt next month when I don't. I'm debating whether to return or seek another optometrist.

Arrived for my appointment two work days later and was informed they did not file on any insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket.
