Wouldn't go here anymore if I didn't have to. Although I have great insurance the optometrist selection in tyler are few. Dirty outdated place. Rude staff who are clearly only hired because they are bilingual. I say that because no one acts like they know what's going on. They were constantly checking there personal cell phones gossiping about each other when the employee would step away. More interested in what was going on personally instead of professionally.

Avoid this DUMP! This place was dirty, dingy, and what a horrible selection of overpriced rims. Not one of the front help did anything to help me and when asked a question I was looked at like I was stupid. I guess facebook was more important than a customer. Almost all the glasses were covered in fingerprints, mirrors too. I wont ever darken that doorstep again.

This vision center deserves less than one star! The doctors are kind during the exam and educate you very well on whats going on with your vision. However, the staff who run daily operations are a bunch of ninnies who are concerned with chit chat and pay no attention to the patients or their paperwork. Since its the staff you are mainly dealing with, I highly suggest that you seek your vision care needs else where. This place had misplaced my insurance information, refused to call the correct phone number on my paperwork, didn't place my glasses order for 3 weeks and then didn't contact me for over 2 weeks. I have been chasing them to follow up for all their faults. This is the worst vision center I have ever had the displeasure of using.

Dr. McGough misdiagnosed eye condition for my step daughter and advised to see an expensive specialist in Dallas who gave us the correct diagnosis, but could not help condition either. The whole experience ended up costing us several hundred dollars, plus the time spent at a Dallas hospital. Avoid this place at all cost.

Okay, when you have this many negative reviews and the owner does not even have the courtesy or respect to respond to them, you know its a problem. Sad that it sounds like this place believes customers are their biggest inconvenience. Some places truly do not need to be in business. I have been searching for a vision center in the area and will definitely avoid this place. My thanks to others who have posted their comments and ratings.

Horrible experience and customer service! Rude staff, and all they care about is insurance money. The man Harry didn't even order my contacts because he was too busy talking about his other coworkers mistakes ...ill never come back here after 3yrs of coming. Wish I could talk to the doctor about his staff!

If you're looking for an optometrist in the East Texas Vision Center Village area I definitely recommend this place.

This place is absolutely terrible. I have been there twice and both times were bad. They always rush the exam. They don't give you enough time to figure out if you can actually see or not before they start getting frustrated with you. They usually don't give the right prescription. So once again they have ruined my one eye exam covered by insurance. 10/10 would not recommend.

I have used Dr.McGough for many many years. Usually at his Broadway location. My job is closer to the one on the loop so I went to it this go around for my yearly checkup. He is a great doctor. However the front staff that work there are not very friendly at all! Once I was done with my exam and fitted with a trial contact that was as closes they could get until the correct trial contacts came in. I was interested in glasses as well. The lady that was setup to help me acted like she didn't have time to deal with assisting me in picking out a pair of glasses. Then straight out told me you are better off buying them from somewhere else they are expensive here..... I couldn't believe it! So almost a month goes by and I have not gotten a call or txt letting me know my correct trial contacts are in. I call and the lady tells me "Well we did call you and txt you" If I had gotten a call or txt I would have came to pickup the correct trial contact for my eye a long time ago! I asked to speak to the manager and she says I am the manager! I will not be going back to this location, and just go back to TSO on Broadway for Dr.McGough!

The staff were so rude and loud, talking about their personal lives and cussing nonstop. I'm glad I didn't have my kids with me. It was such a miserable and negative experience. The doctor was nice, but he left for his lunch break before even signing my prescription so I had to leave empty handed.

My experience with East Texas Vision Center was absolutely the worst, most disappointing in my 14 years of routine eye exams/service with a number of various clinics. The initial exam was fine; the facility itself is more dingy and bland than I'm used to, but not a deal breaker. The optometrist was short and to the point; not stellar but not rude or incompetent. I was sent home with a trial pair of lenses and told to return in a week for a quick check, which I did and ordered - and PAID for - my supply of lenses at that time. I was told I'd be contacted in approximately seven days when they arrived. Almost two weeks later, I hadn't heard anything so I called for an update. Initially, I was rudely told that I never came in for my one week follow up/for check. Once I was able to convince them I not only had come in, but had paid for the lenses, I was told simply "Ohhh. Yeah, they're not here." And silence. I'm the one who had suggest to this girl that perhaps she track the shipment, call the sender, and otherwise do their job and a little bit of investigative work. It was met with a haughty "I guess I can call." and was hung up on. Almost two weeks after that, as I was preparing to demand a refund and my prescription, I was notified the contacts had arrived. Great! Except as I went to put in a brand new pair straight from the packaging, one had a tear in it. Again, it was met with "Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do." Absolutely zero offer to replace the lens, to contact the manufacturer, nothing. I worked customer service my entire life, and have maintained my composure with these people while pointing out their utter lack of customer service and even basic friendliness, in an effort to help them improve; i have been interrupted, eyes rolled at, sighed at, and hung up on. Noemi is the name of the young lady who I spoke with both times. These business owners could benefit from a serious overhaul in how their front desk personnel are representing them.

GREAT....THEY are AWESOME the GIRLS that work there are very helpful and have great customer service skills. This was our first visit and I recommend them because the visit was for my 8 year old and THAT'S what impressed ME...they were very patient and helped her make her eye glass choice...sweet ladies there...thanks again.

The staff doesn’t do a good job. It’s either hit or miss here. They can be very rude or very nice. I called to order contacts for another 90 days (I’ve been with this doctor for two years now). I went to pick up my contacts and the lady hands me one box of contacts. She argued with me about my prescription was the same in both eyes when I’m the one that puts my contacts in my eyes every day. I know I have two different prescriptions. The lady then checked and realized they messed up. She told me to use the same prescription in both eyes until the other order gets in next week instead of giving me a trial box with extra contacts since it was heir mistake. I have been waiting to hear from them to see if my other box of contacts have come in. I finally called the doctors office to see if my contacts have come in and sure enough they have. I didn’t get a call or anything saying they were in. This isn’t the only thing that has happened but needless to say I will not be going back. Horrible customer service.

BY FAR THE WORST VISION CENTER IN ALL OF TEXAS. THEY DROPPED THE BALL ON MY ORDER AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 21 DAYS AND STILL WAITING. I HAVE HEARD EVERY EXCUSE POSSIBLE. DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO GET YOUR VERY IMPORTANT EYEGLASSES. THIS COMPANY IS A BIG JOKE. IT IS JUST A BUNCH OF EMPLOYEES THAT ARE CLUELESS.
