Be very careful of this clinic. I met with the doctor for cornea damage. At my first visit he said it had likely plateaued and would monitor. Fastforward 6 months later and a new treatment is approved and despite no changes in my exam findings Dr Hu highly recommends the procedure for $6000 ( not covered by insurance since it was still investigational at the time). I get a second opinion and they agree no changes in vision and the procedure he recommended would not likely work in my situation. Get a second opinion!

Dr. Hu is terrific! He’s knowledgeable and stays on top of the latest advances in his field. He did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I was highly anxious and nervous (my eyes, right?) and both procedures went so smoothly, totally pain free, easy peasy.i cannot recommend Dr Hu and the folks in his practice highly enough. I visited the Fort Worth branch of Texas Eye and Laser center because I was having some blurry vision at a distance. I found the experience pleasant, the waiting room is very modern and clean and my wait was very short! Technician May and Dr. Cox were quickly able to figure out my contact prescription had changed. I’m happy to say I’m seeing great at a distance again!! Dr. Cox was great at hearing and understanding my issues and worked quickly to get me into a new prescription! I will definitely visit Texas Eye and Laser Center again!

My mom needed cataract surgery. We were referred to Jerry Hu by our optometrist. Hu did an evaluation and told us that the basic lens does not have any type of correction. In addition it will cost my Mom $5000 for lenses to allow her to see distance & 8000 for a lens that allows her to see distance and reading. After we left I spoke with some professionals' in the field of optometry (I work in the medical field) and a few of my friends who works for a surgical center that does a lot of cataract surgery and they were all confused when I told them of what Dr. Hu explained to us. They all explained that there is always some type of correction even with the basic lens. So, I emailed Dr. Hu to clarify this and what was explained during the visit and got a reply from her office manager that the information was accurate.(I even saved the e-mail). Luckily, I decided to bring my mom for a second opinion at UT Southwestern and that is where I found the dishonesty of his practice. Our UT doctor told us that there’s always some type of correction in even the most basic lens that Medicare pays for and they charged $1200 for astigmatism correction and $3200 for distance and reading lenses. He did not even encourage us to pay for astigmatism correction because my mother's astigmatism was minimal and he did not want for us to spend money on multifocal lenses because of her advance age. I was very disappointed and cancelled my Mom’s scheduled surgery with Dr. Hu immediately. I am making a very elaborate review because it saddens me that this doctor who pledge to help people is an opportunist that preys on the weak and elderly. His reviews are high because most likely people does not seek a second opinion. I am hoping that he changes his practice and will be upfront and honest with patients or patients seek second opinion. Jerry Hu is a heartless human being that even uses his own mother to set an example in trying to entice you to purchase his most expensive package. He says and I quote " you're mom will do great, I put the best lens on my 80 year old other and now she can see distance and read without glasses". Maybe true, but at what cost to other? Some of our seniors are on fixed income and this doctor enriches himself at there cost. Such a shame Jerry. They even have a reply which sounds so generic. Jerry , I did not want to put in a negative review but this is the truth of our experience! Update 01/22/2019 My Mom had both eyes operated and with the basic lens replacement paid by Medicare. 20/20 vision using both eyes. No extra charges on our part. I'll be putting up a review for our UT doctor.

As retired military and an avid outdoorsman I enjoy participating in all hunting, fishing and shooting sports. Not long ago, I started experiencing difficulty seeing too tie a hook on my line and for that matter seeing the sights of my weapon. I went to Texas Eye & Laser Center (TELC), which has state of the art facilities in Hurst and Fort Worth Texas that proudly support our US Armed Forces. Dr. Hu preformed an examination which disclosed developing cataracts in both of my eyes and recommended cataract surgery. I elected to do so, selecting multifocal lenses which allow the ability to focus at all distances. Throughout the surgery and follow up examinations Dr. Hu and his entire staff were courteous, knowledgeable and displayed a level of professionalism that I have rarely seen. Am I happy? Yes I am! No more glasses for this ole' boy. I can see better now, than I ever could before. TELC truly provided me World Class Care. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend TELC for your eye care needs.

I met with Dr. Hu for a second time to discuss my impending cataract surgery. He was attentive, kind, and obviously passionate about helping people with their vision needs. Chris spent a great deal of time helping me sort through my thoughts to make a decision. She was patient and understanding. I was recommended by two friends to get lasik done at this office, and I am so glad I went here! It had taken me about ten years to actually get the nerve to make the consult appointment because I was so nervous. I felt very comfortable and was told all details about the procedure, which helped calm my nerves. During the procedure, Dr. Hu talked to me throughout the Lasik procedure and it was very calming. I am three weeks post surgery and have great results!

Horrible - I cannot speak for anyone else but this Doctors office experience was so bad... i decided not to spend my thousands of dollars with them. The short version is that I was told one thing and what actually happened was going to be totally different and cost me 'an additional $2,000. ' (I felt like the old days of buying a car) That was supposed to be doing me a favor? I cannot recommend this office or this doctor... what a disorganized mess...from the moment you walk in to the time you meet with the doctor to being told bout your 'options for payment'... its a total turn and burn factory....(they even had me sign my documents knowing my eyes had been dilated and that i couldn't read anything i was signing)... don't waste your time... in fact, before you go to any eye doctor about surgery- get it in writing what you are going to have to pay before letting anyone do any tests on your eyes. @ Jerry Hu- your team let you down ... and stop telling people that a famous sports team owner got their eyes done by you and that you cant disclose who it is... you discredit yourself as a Doctor when you become a huckster... your work should stand on its own... what a stupid experience... i wish i had my time back that i wasted on these people...

Dr. Hu is the bomb! I had one of the highest and most complicated prescriptions, wore glasses pretty much in my whole life. A relative recommended Texas eye and laser center. Dr. Hu treated me with such care, and performed an outstanding surgery! The whole process was easy and pleasant, my recovery was smooth. Two other doctors have seen me for post check-ups, they were all very nice and responsible. I am finally glasses-free now and I'm enjoying it! Thank you Dr. Hu!! I paid Dr. Hu $6000 to get me out of glasses for distance vision after cataract surgery. I cannot read the TV menu at 16 feet on a 55" LCD HD TV. and he says 'Nobody sees perfect'. Take your money else where.

One day I was driving to work and my contacts were bothering me so bad that I had to turn around and drive back home and take the contacts out and put on my glasses. I work outdoors so I found myself sweating all over my glasses and I can’t wear sunglasses with the glasses. So, I made an appointment that day to get my free consultation to see if I was a candidate for laser eye surgery. And luckily I was. I had the surgery and it went smooth as could be and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I opted for the most expensive package because I’m 40 and It came with a lifetime warranty. The surgery went wonderful. I now have 20/15 vision in both eyes.ynonly regret is waiting so long to do this. I should’ve done it this 20 yrs ago!! I have been recommending this office to all my friends and telling them I have new and improved bionic eyes now. Dr. Hu is absolutely awesome.
