Between a friend's referal and the good reviews about Diagnostic Eye Center, I had high expectations of the place and it didn't disappoint! Starting with the tests, they took 2 hrs and were very thorough. Dr. Lozano handled that portion and was very friendly and having gone through the procedure herself was very informative. Dr. Salem performed the procedure and made sure to walk me through every step of it. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They are a bit pricier than the competition but you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is considering LASIK.

I went in for a LASIK/cataract consultation with Dr. Bell. Dr. Bell thoroughly explained my eye exam results and possible treatment plans. At one point, Dr. Bell requested Dr. Salem come to discuss details about cataract surgery. Both doctors were very helpful and took the time to make the appointment personalized to my needs. I would highly recommend them!

I would highly recommend Diagnostic Eye Center to anyone and everyone. I've visited the clinic for a routine eye exam and LASIK surgery. All of my experiences have been 10/10. The staff is friendly. The doctors are intelligent and they know what they're talking about. The front desk staff is quick and orderly. If you're considering LASIK surgery, I would highly recommend this place. They're trustworthy, and I was thoroughly impressed by the overall process. Each appointment (consultation, follow-ups, etc) moved swiftly and the doctors ensure all your questions are answered. On the day of the procedure, the LASIK machinery was top notch, and the doctor took extra care to ensure I was relaxed. It's a bit unnerving to have a laser cut into your eyeballs but the doctor talks you through everything. The actual procedure lasts only 30 seconds. Overall - the quality of service is excellent. The office is run by intelligent people who know what they're doing. If you're looking for an eye doctor, or considering LASIK surgery, go here!

Dr. Sanders is very professional and did an excellent job with my lasik surgery. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I was a little anxious about having the surgery performed and had been putting it off for quite some time, but the whole procedure only took a few minutes and only mildly stung for a day or so. The results were fantastic. Dr. Sanders is very conservative and will let you whether or not you are a good candidate for surgery and even whether or not you need to have one or both eyes fixed. He told me I only needed one eye done.

DEC is seriously awesome! After two years of contemplating LASIK I finally went for a consultation and a week later had my procedure. Dr. Lozano and staff made me feel very comfortable and are very knowledgeable at what they are doing. I would have given 0 if I had that option. The reason is that I had a surgery on my left eyelid for chalazion by doctor SALEM. After about a month still had bump on the same spot . And when visited him again , I was informed that I had to go for another surgery . Really ?? He could not remove it first time , now referring me to another doctor . Either do it correctly first time or don’t do it at all. Completely DISAPPOINTED by the quality of work done by the Doctor Salem !! Not even talking about time and money that was wasted here !! NEITHER coming back again to this place NOR recommending to anyone !!

Entire operation was handled professionally from start to finish. Operating room was very comforting. Doctor talked me through the operation as it was happening. The actual operation was painless and interesting. There was some pain starting 1 hr post operation that lasted about 2 hrs. However "comfort drops" are given. Next day I woke up with great vision. My prescription for contacts is complicated between nearsightedness and astigmatisms in both eyes. Dr. Welton has repeatedly written perfect contact lenses prescriptions to give me the best possible vision for my eyes. After my son was born I saw Dr. Welton and mentioned some changes in my eyes. After dilating my eyes he suspected a detached retina and scheduled an appointment with a specialist immediately. It was in fact a detached retina that required surgery. My most recent visit was due to some discomfort in my left eye. I suspected dry eyes and over the counter drops weren’t working. Dr. Welton was able to see me right away with some rearranging of schedules. Dr. Welton found an ulcer on my cornea. I am continually thankful and grateful. I have always had a great experience here and feel as though my eyes are in the best hands!

At first, I was very nervous about having Lasik performed. Dr. Sanders and the (very efficient) team at Diagnostic Eye Center made this process so smooth and easy. The greatest attribute was the care after the surgery. I was completely impressed at the care and concern they exhibited. One other thing... I usually expect to have an appointment at 1pm and finally see the doctor at 1:45. This isn't the case with DEC. You get there at 12:45 for a 1pm appointment and you'll probably get to see the doc before your scheduled appointment. That, to me, is an office well managed. And, its not as if I'm the only one there. The office is usually quite busy. They just do things, even the little things, productively and positively. Thanks you guys! I can see!!!

I decided to do LASIK in October of 2017. Dr. Sanders and his staff did an amazing job. Within a day I was able to see better than 20/20 with no pain or irritation. After about a week I was completely healed. I was told after about a month the X-ray vision will kick in.... but I'm still waiting. Dr. Welton was very knowledgeable and made the recovery process and checkups a breeze. The staff at Diagnostic Eye was always friendly and I was able to be seen with minimal wait time. I was referred to Diagnostic Eye Center by a friend Steven Young, and it was as great experience as he said it would be. The clinic is in a great location with easily accessible free parking. The staff was friendly and greeted me as soon as I entered. Once I completed the initial patient paperwork, I didn't have more than a few minutes wait before they began my initial diagnostic procedures. The tech handling this was friendly and thorough and did a great job of putting me at ease. Once she finished I met with Dr. Lozano and I could tell she had reviewed my information with the tech as she immediately asked me questions following up on information I had given the tech. Dr. Lozano was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. She gave me a thorough analysis of the issues I have been having with my sight, and offered recommendations to resolve these issues. I am not even going to wait any more than a day to write a review. My overall experience was beyond anything I expected. For years I had been hesitant about getting the procedure done, but I was tired of my glasses fogging and drying contacts and I am glad I finally did. Every single staff member was great and I was able to relax and trust in them. With the Doc Sanders using top of the line equipment, the procedure was over in less than 10 minutes and I barely even felt a thing. Today I was seeing 20/15 and I don't even feel as if there was anything done to me. one of the best parts about Diagnostic Eye is that they are not like other lasik places and don't pump out patients like how the Hershey factory pumps out kisses. They were never running late (I never showed up on time and had to wait a half hour to be seen). I was always nearly immediately seen upon arrival. Dr. Bell and the staff were wonderful! I felt at ease and I felt like they actually listened to me. The power for the whole block went out due to lightening and they still did everything they could to check my eye, even without power. I was having eye pain so I called in the morning and they were able to fit me in later that day. I had my LASIK done with Dr. Sanders. Everyone at the clinic is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I scheduled my first consultation on a Thursday. During this consultation my eyes were examined, prescription checked, and questions answered. I was also given a tour of the facility and laser that they use. After the consultation I was told that I was a perfect candidate for the procedure. I decided to sleep on the decision to have the procedure because I was very nervous and wanted to try out other doctors. After reading other reviews and looking at prices (from reviews) online, I decided Monday morning that I wanted to go ahead with Dr. Sanders. I called Monday morning, had my second consultation that day, and the surgery that night! Everyone was incredibly nice and calming. They checked and rechecked all of my numbers before the surgery just to make sure everything was perfect (which calmed me down alot). Dr. Sanders told me everything that was happening and comforted me throughout the entire procedure (which was about 7 minutes long altogether). I'm one day out and I can see 20/15 and will only improve from here. I have no red spots on my eyes, no discomfort, no halos, no fog, just great vision! It's incredible! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sanders and his staff. My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier!

After researching around several of the other LAZIK eye centers I decided upon Diagnostic Eye Center because of the outstanding reviews. Upon arriving I was warmly greeted and had the entire procedure thoroughly explained to me during a free consultation. All of my questions were answered and I decided to go ahead with the procedure the following week. Now, just a day after the procedure I have 20/15 vision (maybe 20/10, I'll find out next week for a follow up)! I got LASIK and I’m super happy!! My optometrist Recommended Opthamologist Dr. Andrew Salem cuz patient outcome has been great for lasik and PRC and ICL with Dr. Salem. I’m very glad I chose Diagnostic Eye Center & River Oaks Lasik. Dr. Stephanie Lozano did a thorough work up and diagnostic tests. Christina was sweet and helped with diagnostic assessments too. Marcus took care of my pre-op procedures and meds. Pre-op made me calm, relaxed and comfortable. Good to wear cotton clothing to keep you warm in the chilly surgery suite. Excellent experience here getting LASIK. Essentially no pain or discomfort during a procedure that took about 20 minutes. I could see fine almost immediately and when I woke up the next day my vision was very sharp. I am now 20/15 vision. High recommend them to anyone and my only regret is that I didn't come to them 5 years ago.

Didn't feel one bit of pain or any sign of bothersome throughout the process of the surgery. I have definitely recommended Dr. Sanders to my friends and they are beyond satisfied. I had literally taken 3 years of research to find the best LASIK surgeon out there, and I can I am extremely happy with the decision and the results. I had an issue with health insurance, and they were overly helpful with sorting out prescriptions that met my needs. The staff at Diagnostic Eye Center approved the request for a prescription fill in a very timely manner and I was good to go before my flight. The office is very organized and after the first visit, the staff checks you in to your appointment upon walking in the front door just by looking at you and greeting you by name! Best Eye Center ever !!! So I had been contemplating LASIK for some time and drove almost 2 hours from home to check out a few centers and see what they say . First one said I was a great candidate for Lasik within 30 minutes of being there . Then I go to DIAGNOSTIC EYE CENTER. I was seen by Dr.Lozano and she did some test and showed me where my cornea was too thin and her conclusion was PRK would be better for me as LASIK could be more risky. She said "If you were my sister, I would tell you heck no dont do LASIK" THESE PROFESSIONALS CARE!!! My surgery was performed by Dr.Sanders and although PRKs recovery is alot more lengthy and difficult thank Lasik , he has blessed hands . I didn't feel nearly as bad as I read I would. If you want a quick in and out you go, then go somewhere else . But if you want a professional group of people that care and take pride in their work who will be with you every step of the way (including weekends if needed) then this is the place for you . Just got back from my 10 day follow up and everything checked out perfect !!!

I had LASIK done by Dr. Sanders a month ago (7/20). After a month, I could not be happier with this decision. If you're thinking about having this done, I would highly recommend that you go to Diagnostic Eye Center to have a consultation. Everyone there is extremely nice, and they made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. My contact prescription was -6.5 in both eyes before the surgery. The surgery was literally pain free, and I was out of there in about 45 minutes. I had it done in the afternoon, and then I went home and took about a 4 hour nap. That night I was able to watch TV, and see pretty good with a little blurriness. The next day I had very little blurriness, and was able to read 20/20 at the checkup. At my one-week checkup, I read 20/15. Right now I have slight dryness in the morning, but other than that, my eyes feel amazing. I love my new eyes, and I would highly recommend getting LASIK done at Diagnostic Eye Center.

Dr. Salem did my cataract removal surgery in April of 2019. He did a beautiful job. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Because of my MS, my eyes became super light sensitive and very dry. Saw Dr. Bell on August 1, 2019 and she prescribed medications to alleviate the problem. I had my surgery done last Friday after 8 years of contemplating whether I should do it or not & all I can wonder is WHY did I wait so long!! I shopped around for about a month before booking my lasik appt and I decided to go with Dr. Sanders because his staff made me feel so comfortable, they took the time to explain everything to me and answered all the questions I had. The actual procedure was painless and took what seemed like only 3 minutes or so. When I got home- I'll be honest, I did have some discomfort- I think it was mostly anxiety because I couldn't open my eyes, no matter how hard I tried, just couldn't. Took another Valium (they prescribe you 3, I took 1 before the procedure) and that put me back to sleep, when I woke up a couple hours later- opened my eyes and COULD SEE!!! It was amazing. The next day I drove myself to my follow up and was seeing 20/15. I don't think I can ever thank this office enough, no price on perfect vision. THANK YOU, again!

Dr. Sanders and his team provided me with a wonderful experience for a procedure that I was slightly nervous over. Prior to the treatment, I was reconfirmed as a candidate and both Dr. Sanders and Dr. Lozano discussed what to expect. I arrived to a relaxation room and was asked what music I enjoyed. In the surgical room, they actually played my choice of music during the procedure to calm any residual nerves. Dr. Sanders explained every movement he and his team would make, what the laser would do, what I would feel, and reconfirmed all information prior to any operation. I couldn't ask for a higher level of care! The procedure was very quick (10 mins start to finish) and I was seeing 20/20 immediately. After my post procedure evaluation, I was moved over to the relaxation room again. There, Ryan thoroughly explained all the medicated drops required and their frequency. He took the time to answer all of my questions and was very patient. He also provided me with the protective goggles to wear for the first 5 hours and nightly for a week. The next 4-5 hours were a bit uncomfortable and blurry as I rested while wearing the provided dark goggles. After that period, Iight wasn't as bothersome and my watery eyes subsided a bit. The real magic happened the next morning. I woke up a bit dry eyed but after a few medicated drops, I was back to seeing clearly! The first 5 days require a few drops to ensure healing and to reduce dry eye. It really hit me that I didn't need glasses at the end of week 1. I was watching TV and used to fumble for my glasses to read the TV guide in the middle of the night. I was pleasantly surprised to 1.) not find my glasses on the night stand (old habit) and 2.) that I was able to read through the channels with clarity. Disclaimer: there are "halos" around bright lights initially but I have noticed as the month progressed that the "halo" is much less noticeable. Also, you are not allowed to rub your eyes (this was very very hard for me) nor blink hard (squeeze your eye lid tight) for up to a month for a risk of displacing the flap created from the procedure. Everything was explained to me by the doctors. My experience with Dr. Sanders and his team was exceptional. I trust my eyes to Diagnostic Eye Center. Thank you Dr. Sanders, Dr. Lozano, Ryan, and Monica for my great experience!

I came down to Houston from Seattle to visit family for the holidays. I had been researching LASIK for the past 3 years and had decided it was time. On a whim I called up Diagnostic Eye Center to see if they could get me in, and was surprised when they got me in right away, despite a busy end-of-the-year schedule. The consultation was amazing - they were so patient, and answered all my questions. Being able to meet with Dr. Sanders during the initial consultation also eased my anxiety. One of the things that impressed me was that they took measurements several times, and even had another ophthamologist in the office verify them. Living up to the adage of "measure twice, cut once"...but in this case it was like 3 or 4 times. When dealing with my eyesight, I was so happy that they were making so sure that it was correct! Dr. Sanders performed my procedure the very next day, and talked me through every part of it, easing any anxiety by explaining what was next. The procedure itself was very quick, and painless, and recovery was quick... About 4 hours later NE irritation was gone. I just finished my follow up and I will now be returning to Seattle with 20-15 vision! The facilities are very comfortable, and the staff are so friendly. I can't recommend Dr. Sanders and his team at Diagnostic Eye Center enough. If you've been thinking about it or if you've decided it's time to do it but dont know where to go give them a call - you won't regret it!

I got LASIK yesterday with Dr. Sanders after my consultation Monday. You can expect about 1&1/2 hour consultation. For my consultation, surgery and follow up (today), I was attended to right away and didn't have to wait. The doctor and staff are very nice, patient and willing to answer any questions. As for my procedure, I was in and out in an hour. The pressure on my eyes while the laser was cutting the flaps was probably the worst part, if there is a worst part. Immediately after I took the 4-hour nap. I had some stinging in my eyes but went away by later that afternoon. Today I can see extremely well (some haze and glare, not bothersome, which is expected to go away within the day to a week) at better than 20/15. No pain or stinging at all. It's amazing to be able to see naturally and I would recommend this place to everyone interested in LASIK. The price is high for each eye but you can expect to pay for a quality procedure, and to me, going to the best-rated surgeon is worth the price.

Usually I don't write any reviews, but this time I have to write something. I did my Lasik eye surgery with PRK in December 2017. It took more than 1 month to recover my vision. During this time, I vomit once and went to ER which cost me more than $1000 after insurance. After the vision recovered, I found that only the right eye has vision 1.0, the left eye only has the vision 0.75. It's not what they promised that should be 1.0 for both eyes.

I first visited Dr. Salem in January for an eye infection and the truly cared about getting me better. I was leaving for Europe in 2 days and he immediately rushed me in to start treatment. He prescribed the medicine and checked on me again before I departed. While in Europe, he kept in touch through his cell phone just to ensure my eye was healing properly. This great experience provided me the confidence to explore Lasik with Dr. Salem and his team. They coached me through the entire process and the surgery went perfect. For years I thought about having LASIK performed, but as a medical provider, I never wanted to take off time to go through the process. Month after month and year after year, I continued to buy contacts, purchase new lenses and frames, but this year when my yearly eye appointment was approaching, I decided to visit Diagnostic Eye Center after hearing high recommendations. I could not have been happier! My standards are set high for consultations and medical appointments, and I was extremely impressed. Everyone starting from the parking lot (I was greeted by a warm hello from an employee!) to the ophthalmologist was full of positive energy, compassion, patience, and knowledge. I was scheduled for a LASIK consultation, and soon after I signed in, my appointment moved fluidly from eye prescription/corneal measurements, to meeting with Dr. Lozano and Dr. Sanders. I felt extremely comfortable and confident in their knowledge and experience. So, after 17 years of correcting my vision, I was scheduled for LASIK the following week! Surgery day came around, I checked in around 2:00 in the afternoon, the surgery was completed, and I was walking out of the door by 3:30 (with 20/20 vision!) Dr. Sanders made the environment extremely comfortable and talked me through every step. I had no pain with the operation, only expected irritation once the eye drops wore off, and by 6 PM that evening; I was back to normal, except with 20/15 vision! It has been 6 weeks since my LASIK surgery, I have 20/15 vision, and my only complaint is that I wish I had visited Diagnostic Eye Center sooner for LASIK. In the upcoming years, if ever I have a separate ophthalmologic issue, I will be visiting Dr. Sanders and Dr. Salem! Highly recommend!

This was the best experience i ever had. I got out of surgery seeing 20/15 which is beyond perfect vision. There very knowledgable in what they do and are very nice from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DIAGNOSTIC EYE CENTER FOR YOUR LASIK NEEDS.

Horrible experience with the front desk and assistant staff. Last year, they messed up our insurance information, and insisted to charge us. Talked with them for several hours to fix the problem. This year, they messed up my birthday information. We wasted two hours in the pharmacy to get the eye medication the doctor prescribed, it was very difficult to fix the birthday mismatch error in the system, and the clinic did not help to fix the problem. Don't take me wrong, Dr. Stephanie Lozano herself is very patient and kind. She examined our eye sight and talked with us very warmly.
