While waiting on my glasses that had been scratched, I overheard staff saying that their lab was having a lot of issues and sending them damaged glasses. I had to wait for over an hour before they came out and told me they’d have to once again order me new lenses. Doctor was very rude to me and I will not be returning after coming here for many years.

My glasses arrived scratched 3 different times. The staff never apologized and acted like I was the one being unreasonable because I didn’t want scratched lenses. It seems like if you get lucky and have no problems with your glasses the Prairie Eye Clinic has received positive reviews, but I can’t imagine that others haven’t had the same negative experiences I have. Their treatment was unprofessional and I would avoid.

Never been here before, called at 1015am, got an appointment with Dr. Clarence at 1145am, full eye exam, ordered new glasses, and gone by 1215pm! The entire staff was professional and courteous, everything was explained to me very well, including the pictures from inside my eyes. I never felt rushed, and yet everything was done so quickly! Had been going to vision clinic in walmart, but new insurance forced me to change, and I am extremely satisfied with the change!

Everyone was very friendly, and the optometrist explained every step of the exam so that it all made sense. I came away with a much better understanding of my vision and my eye health. My ten-month-old son had an eye exam, too, and it was much more thorough than I would have imagined an infant exam could be.

I'm not a patient there, my wife has been for sometime. On Friday night I scratched my cornea, and by Saturday morning I was miserable and couldn't see out of my eye. My wife called to see if they could get me in, no doctors were in clinic that day. They called dr cindy Johnson and asked her if she could come in, and she agreed. She was so pleasant and treated me as if I was a patient there. She went above and beyond for me, and I can't thank her enough. I would highly recommend prairie eye clinic in vermilion to anyone.

The friendliest staff in Vermillion; I felt welcome the minute I walked in the door. I was a new patient and check-in was a breeze. The preliminary checkup was thorough and she explained everything; which I very much appreciated. I saw Dr. Vanderlei and he was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole exam. Again, explained everything and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with my visit and look forward to my next.

Wife ordered sun glass lenses, which were scratched, but the lenses were guaranteed for a year. She kept her frames & lenses, and Prairie ordered new lenses. The lenses arrived about 2 weeks later, and when Prairie went to install the lenses, they said the lenses would not fit, and while trying to make them fit, they scratched the frames and stripped a screw, which they blamed on the manufacturer. So another frame was ordered which took 2-1/2 weeks. Upon arriving to pick up her glasses, (we live 50 miles away) the lenses did not fit the frame, and she was told they would have to be ground to fit the frame. So, my wife was required to wait until 3pm to pick them up. After picking them up & heading home, she discovered the nose pads were very rough & digging into her nose. So once again she turns around and heads back for the pads to be changed. At this point, all she was interested in was a full refund, because it was costing her more in fuel than the glasses were worth. Prairie Eye Clinic's office manager refused to issue a refund, because one of the doctors said the could grind the lenses. I suppose it was too much work & cost for them to simply redo the entire order and get it all correct the 1st time. I immediately cancelled my upcoming appointment, and told them to cancel me as a patient. We had been with them for 10 years.

Both my father and I went for eye exams. Neither one of us were able to wear the glasses we purchased there. My father didn't want to bother but I went back and was re-examined. After a significant change, the new prescription still caused bad eye strain and glasses were unwearable. Whether incompetence of the optometrist, Kevin Brown, or poorly calibrated equipment, or badly made glasses, the overall result was that I had to go back many times and finally demanded my money back for the glasses. They would not refund the exam costs. A big waste of my time and money. Don't go unless you have the most simple basic prescription. Even in that case, save your money and go somewhere else.
