After spending my forties finding my long distance clarity go down while my readers strength went up, I heard about a surgical procedure that I could be a candidate for. I made an appointment with Dr. Huff and he informed me I was a candidate and we scheduled 2 appointments (one for each eye) a couple of weeks apart. It is now 4 weeks after my second surgery and I cannot espress in words how happy I am. My eyes are perfect. It is incredible. I spent 20 minutes in the checkout aisle at Walmart the other night, just looking at the candy, reading all the labels and looking at the colors. I read all the newspaper tabloid covers. Not just the headlines, ALL the print! No my insurance did not cover it, and it was pricey, but when you divide it by 30 years, it's less than a half a cup of small Starbucks a day! Why spend another day missing out on the wonderful things that you can see and read in your life! I even had a small bonfire and burnt all of my readers that I had stashed all over the house!!

I am so pleased with the results from my cataract surgery done by Dr. Huff. Had the Symfony Lens placed in my left eye during the surgery (highly recommend)and had the LenSx Laser on my right. My family & I have been blessed to have Dr. R. Brian Huff to do cataract surgery on us. My husband had both of his eyes in 2016 & he still til this day see great without glasses! I recently had cataract surgery in both eyes(2 weeks apart). I haven’t needed glasses since the first surgery and now after the second, I can see amazingly clearly! I opted for the top of the line lenses so that in addition to the removal of the cataracts, my nearsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism are all corrected! Seeing this beautifully is well worth the extra expense! I can’t stop marveling at the level of detail I can see, and the freedom from glasses is liberating! Dr. Huff is a very talented doctor who genuinely seems to enjoy his work. His credentials and years of experience inspire confidence. He is personable, listens well, and explains things clearly. Every one of his staff that I encountered were competent, pleasant and helpful.

I just had cataract surgery on my left eye and in a few weeks on the right. WOW - my vision is now 20/20 in that eye. I am so thankful to God for blessing me with Dr. Huff. He is such a genuine, caring, kind, spiritual, awesome and professional doctor. I am overjoyed and grateful because my journey has been a rollercoaster after being diagnosed with cataracts at a younger age than the norm. Earlier this year, the doctor at an optical store referred me to an ophthalmologist due to my very high negative measurements. After three office visits (1st - confirmed diagnosis of cataracts; 2nd - several eye measurements; 3rd - discussed options), I was confused and aggravated because I didn't know what option would work for me. When asking the doctor for his recommendation, he stated "it was what I could afford" based on the options discussed. I felt it was all about the money but, really lost trust with this doctor and facility when he insisted to perform surgery on the right eye first instead of the left which was the worst. I knew immediately I had to find another doctor so prayed to God for his guidance. Found Dr. Huff's name from the Google search of "Best Ophthalmologist in Columbia, SC". After reading the reviews and Dr. Huff's bio, scheduled a consultation. Once the entire process (which included eye measurements) was completed, met with Dr. Huff. I was so impressed because everything was done in one visit and also, the thoroughness of Dr. Huff and staff. My vision information blew me away because it was the first I had heard. After he took his time to explain in great detail, answered my questions and rendered his recommendation, I knew he was the one and had my surgeries scheduled that day. Yes, the wait time may be a little longer than expected but it is truly worth it because Dr. Huff takes his time to care about each patient and his or her needs. I really appreciate the extra time ---- thank you again Dr. Huff!
