Very happy with our decision to see Dr. DeChamplain for my husbands cataract surgery. My husband was very nervous about the procedure. Dr. DeChamplain is friendly and personable and put my husband at ease right away. The surgery was a success and pain free! The staff was professional and kind. We had little to no wait time for all the follow up visit as well. I would highly recommend Dr. DeChamplain to anyone that is needing cataract surgery!

I was a bit nervous as a former Bausch and Lomb rep I had never had success wearing contacts. My cataract surgery was a breeze. Staff is professional and kind nd a well oiled machine that takes care of each patient individually. Dr D was GREAT--cautious but not ridiculous. Use the drops and follow the instructions and you too will see dust you never saw before!!!

Not an efficient office Front desk staff is abrupt. Recent example my mom needed to have a film burned off. They set her up for the first exam and the follow up exam but not the surgery. They called one day and said she had to be there the following week or they would start the exam process all over again, which meant she would have to pay.

Dr. DeChamplain's expertise surpasses all opthalmology professionals I have experienced in 73 years. I just finished my first cataract surgery with Dr. DeChamplain who explained the procedure thoroughly with all pro's and con's assuring me he would be able to significantly improve my vision. Cataract removal after Lasik I had Lasik surgery about 12 years ago. At the time, no one told me there might be an issue in the event I ever needed to have cataracts removed. Indeed there is a possibility of complications. I was grateful that Dr. DeChamplain is well experienced with cases similar to mine and provided ample information about the potential for complications. Thankfully, because of his experience, I had no issues. I'm confident that if there HAD been complications, he would have been able to handle it. Regarding the front office and staff, I couldn't have had a better experience. There was quite a wait for an appointment, but that's understandable considering the demand for services. Payment and insurance filings were handled with no problems. The actual surgical suite was comfortable and well staffed. It was readily apparent that everyone in the surgical suite has worked together for years and the place runs like a well oiled machine. During my first surgery, I was a bit uncomfortable with pain. I really should have said something but I thought I'd tough it out. For the next surgery, I told them my experience and my pain medication was adjusted accordingly with no issues at all. I'd highly recommend Coastal Eye Group and Dr. DeChamplain, particularly for cases with previous Lasik surgery.

I called at 10AM for an appointment because I had something in my eye. They gave me immediate service and appointment at 1:45 the same day. Dr. Richard DeChamplain took care of me and in 10 minutes removed a grass seed from under my lid that was causing pain and discomfort. What a professional operation this was I will never go anywhere else now when it comes to my eyes and "THANK YOU" Dr DeChamplain
