I hesitate even giving a one star rating! It was my first visit to this office and would never give them my recommendation. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and respect for one's time. I was there for 3hrs. and left feeling that I didn't receive quality care and was not confident that I had had a thorough eye examination!!!! The assistant did a majority of my eye exam. When Dr Portnoy finally did come in, he was there for 7min. max. and did not seemed to be concerned when I explained that I still could not see clear after the assistant changed my prescription. He stated he would increase the script in one eye and did not recheck me even after I voiced a concern. Very dissatisfied!!

This place I do no even know where to start. I am a 30 year old young adult and I have a busy schedule. I finally picked up my glasses after almost 2 months, and that isn't including the 1 month wait for them to come it. I was not mad at that tho. I called my Insurance just to check and they were able to tell me they had come in. A day later I get a call from the office saying they have my glasses. So we begin to play this game of Tag, trying to get a hold of each other. Finally I give up and just leave a message asking for Office Hours so I can pre-plan a day. I never get a call back. this goes on for TWO MONTHS!!! Today I was actually able to get ANYONE to answer, and I rush out there to get my frames. I kindly ask, what are your hours here, and I get the response from this woman, "We are open Monday to Friday"... and she stares at me. After this awkward pause thinking she was thinking of the hours, I realize she wasn't. I say, "Yes ma'am I know this, I was wonder specific hours or at least the general time if it is not constant." She just continues to stare at me and I say, "so, may I have your hours. I will also be nice enough to add them to Google Maps to help others get times for this office." and this woman stares blank into my face, "No I do not think that is a good idea." That just blew my mind, that she would blatantly refuse to give me the offices hours. Now I would understand if they had a wishy washy schedule, but just over the phone when I asked if they had ha pretty steady schedule. To which they informed me that they have a pretty solid and constant schedule. I will never go back to this office. I would recommend the same to everyone else. This woman in the optical department was out right rude for no reason. I love the doctor and I am sad that I have to leave but I will refuse to deal with a staff that would be so ignorant to people who come into the office of a medical facility. If at all possible, I would say to avoid this office until you are geriatric because they obviously do not want to try and help bring in any other generation of patients. To doctors and the back eye exam staff I am sorry, you all have done nothing wrong and were fantastic when I had my check up.

I called to make an appt for my client being a new patient and the receptioniat was arrogant on the phone and acted like she did not want to even look to see what times were available. Did not even answer the phone with a name. How do you even run your business? I did not even bother to make an appt.

Let’s start from the beginning. Took almost FOUR hours for my just turned two year old to be seen. She had to get drops which I assumed is why it took so long. The dr said I should get a second opinion which was confusing since he’s supposed to be a pediatric specialist and over 20 years experience. Then we go to get her glasses -they had ZERO toddler frames even though they claim to, not to mention not a single frame under $120. I said I guess I have to look elsewear and I found an actual pediatric specialist in murrysville.(which mind you with drops an exam took less than an hour) They however had nothing but kids and toddler frames probably a hundred of them. So I needed her original script to order her more glasses myself since the two I got are showing wear. I told them over the phone I know the script numbers just need to know what shape for the lens or any other special requirements. They said they couldn’t give me that info over the phone so I drove up. Said the script would be ready by 1. I walked around the entire office and no one would even acknowledge my presence at any of the desks until I put my face in the receptionist’s. They had no clue who I was at 2:30 when I showed up asking for it. No one claimed they talked to me. So The lady hands me the script which I already knew and no special requirements. Didn’t ask who I was to the patient. Didn’t ask for ID. But they couldn’t tell me over the phone bc I’m a stranger right? So much for hiippa laws. And here’s the clincher- they tried to tell me that they sent me TEN bills in the mail for the copay/deductible that I paid when we first went. So I said if for some crazy reason I didn’t get ten bills then email me it. Never got anything. Called insurance and sure enough no outstanding balances and my portion I paid them was applied to the deductible. Sounds a little fishy right???? The office is old and outdated and there are sooo many other options than this one!!

These doctors are very well experienced and knowledgeable, but Dr. Portnoy is arrogant. He doesn't get very attached to any patients and doesn't seem to connect and show concern. Also, the wait time is awful; if you make an appointment for 1, you'll be lucky to see the doctor by 2. If you make an appointment, make sure you have nothing else planned that day. Unfortunately, there aren't any other ophthalmologists around, so we have no choice but to go here.

Over the phone very unfriendly. They mess up details in a short period of time. The doctors are helpful.

Excellent doctors and office staff. Had a very serious eye issue several years ago and everyone there were fantastic. Because of such a positive experience my entire family switched to this practice.

You will wait forever to see the doctor. They do not care about your time. They over book and the waiting room is always packed resulting in wait times that range anywhere from 1 hour ( if you are lucky) to 3 hours. After today I will be looking into other options. My time is important to me.

Dawn Rinaman

first time there and waited two hrs and had to leave. they told us it is always a long wait there." always wait about two hours the office staff told me " I understand emergency and you wait but I had an later appt and asked if they had anything earlier or another day and they gave me an earlier appt.... they just over book crazy would not recommend this office

The staff is nice, the wait is too long, Dr. Portnoy is an excellent surgeon with no bedside manner. You are lucky if he looks you in the eye to talk to you. The retina specialist Dr. Lewin , was even worse. My 81 year old mother and myself were told to not talk . He doesn't like questions and he is a no it all. He treats you like your stupid. We won't be back. I'm glad my mom's left eye cataract is done. We will find somewhere else for the Rt.eye.

We were told that the cataract in the right eye was going to be removed first since Dr. Sigel couldn't see clearly what's going on in the left. Told his assistant the right eye but he wrote left eye. Scheduled a second appointment the following Tuesday with the doctor that's going to be doing the surgery to find out that it's the left eye and it was going to be a high risk surgery and moves to the hospital. Well called a few days later since the one site said they open and apparently they are not. The staff and doctors are not on the same page and the clients are left out on the limb.

Sarah Ciuca

Waited two hour to see a Dr. They need a courtesy call if they are going to be this late.
