I have had two experiences ordering glasses from this group. On both occasions, I was told it would take 4 to 6 business days for the glasses to be ready. In both cases, it was over nine business days, and in and one case, it was almost 3 weeks. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Mary Madera

Costomer Service here is horrible! We will be changing clinics A.S.A.P front desk had problems with new insurance and after assuring them I did have coverage they told me "it's not our job to figure out if you do" totally UNPROFESSIONAL... my mind was blown never have I ever had a problem with any other Doctors office, Dental, and or VISION clinic verifying our coverage. After waiting around and going to another person at the front desk she was able to verify I did indeed have coverage. However no apology was giving to me for the embarrassment or inconvenience they caused. If my son didn't need new glasses right away we would have left! Definitely do not recommend this place and will never be back here.

Doctors are outstanding............scheduling needs to be reworked so there isn’t a one hour wait.

nae nancy evans

Dr. Bingham has terrible bed side manners. Never going back to him. Rude and acts like he's too busy to explain things or to answer questions.

Ron Jackson

The scheduling staff here are EXTREMELY rude! The frame prices are ridiculously high. It used to be a great place to go but they have been starting to tank over the last couple of years. You might reconsider going elsewhere

This was my first experience getting glasses and the customer service was awful. When I had issues with my prescription the assistants advice was to just stop wearing them. The optician was extremely rude and brusque and took a while to warm up. He treated me like I was stupid when I explained why the glasses were giving me a headache. All in all an awful experience.

Christopher Owen

The doc and her staff are great. I have been treated by he for many years. The administration seems to be more production driven though. You just have to ask questions juat like any other place thst provides services. They seem to have a charge for anything . If your insurance doesn't cover it, you end up paying for it out of pocket.

They know how to take care of the patients

Joshua Williams

If you take the time to schedule an appointment, let me give you some advise. If your appointment is at 10, show up at 11 and you will be right in time.

Peter Fernandez

I have been going to Dr. Paluska for 20 years. Always a great experience. Great selection of eye wear as well.

Ronna Warner

LOVE MY GLASSES!! AND THE STAFF IS SOO HELPFUL...GREAT PLACE TO GET YOUR GLASSES OR ANY OTHER EYE NEEDS

13 minutes on hold at 10:30 in the morning, lol.

Charles Kennedy

The receptionist made me feel as if I was unimportant and I was a bother, they could care less if I was there. I was quoted $66 to be seen. It took a long time for the doctor to see me and when he finally did, it took him one minute and he said the disturbance that I had in my eye was nothing, and he sent me away with $166 bill. Very unpleasant and uncomfortable, I will never return and never recommend them to anybody. Must be nice to not have to treat your patients nicely and still make money.

Horrible horrible staff service! The woman scheduling was extremely rude. These people need a training course in customer service. I will not give my business to this place.

Angela Lehto

The staff is INCREDIBLY RUDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very poor customer service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiffany Griffith

I went there for the first time a week ago and even though they were really busy every employee i encountered was very polite and helpful. there was a bit of a wait but the care i received was well worth the wait.

Me!

I felt Dr. Rowell did not take the time to listen and seemed rushed and disinterested. I will not visit this office again.

Gayle Allen

I visited Dr Paluska for new contacts. I had been going to Eye Care for over 20 years. He gave me an exam, then ordered them. When I put them in, not only could I not see (blurry, no distance vision), they hurt my eyes. When I told him the contacts weren't okay, Dr Paluska said "It's your fault, you ordered them". What????? Needless to say, I've never gone back. I found a great eye doc on State St at Family Focus Eye care. Better customer service, better prices, better care.

Sutton Johnson

TERRIBLE! Rude and disrespectful staff! Also they don’t care if you have an appointment because you won’t be seen for an hour! HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING ELSEWHERE!

Sylvia Garcia

It bothers me when my insurance only let's me see the eye Dr once a year and they know we need to have another appt every year for contacts and that cost more money why don't they give us a prescription for two year instead

Elizabeth Anderson

I saw Dr. Robert M. Paluska, O.D. on a Saturday (that's a positive for all 8am-5pm 5 work day per week workers). Most of the work was done by the assistants and tough he didn't spend much time with me, he was kind and listened to my concerns. Unfortunately Dr Paluska doesn't do contacts which I didn't know till he was dilating my eyes so I have to go back and see another Dr. After dilating my eyes a person who helps with glasses fittings took me to find glasses (this, while being nearly blind) and kept on recommending styles I had already said I wasn't very interested in instead of taking note of what I was choosing and leading me to other styles like it. In summary, I think the employees seem to be stressed and try to rush appointments because they are so busy but the doctor I saw made up for their haphazard care.

Mary Bowers

If I could give zero stars I would. Had 6 appointments with absolutely no resolution to my vision issues. That seems to be their scam, get you come in as many times as possible so they can keep charging you. Scheduling staff was rude. I was over billed and had to fight with them several times to get it resolved (their error). So many issues I cant even list them all. Never again! Update: 5 Months later they came back and said I owed them more money! Tried to call administration several times to resolve and could never get past the rude front desk people. Total Scammers! Then to top it off I got a certified letter from them saying THEY refused to see ME again as a patient! Seriously??? I see in someone else's review the same thing happened to them when they complained. How arrogant of them.....I would go blind before I would step foot in their office again!

I waited with my elderly mother for two hours past her schedualed appointment in the waiting room. I visited with 6 other people that were waiting for the same doctor, hours past their as well. I spoke with an elderly couple who told me they HATE this office because they are always made to wait. Other in the waiting room said the same thing. I ask the doctor why we had to wait so long. Both doctor and nurse told me i needed to learn patients, everyone has to wait. We left with receiving his services. I will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommended their services. I asked the doctor if they stack patients or overbooked in order to make the most money possible, I was then asked to leave.

Amanda Jane

Dismissed me from their care for calling in sick to reschedule an appointment, when I'm medically disabled, can't drive, and in chronic pain 24/7. Seen Dr Nearhing 16 times in the last year, but apparently that's not enough money for him to keep me as a patient.

Bad Seed

Went in today for something metal in my cornea .In an out within 1/2 hour , price was fair for cash visit and i feel better already. So far so good. Highly .Recomend.

Gloria White

Have an appointment? That doesn’t matter! You probably won’t be called back to a room for 50+ minutes. Why be punctual?

Kristina Gaffke

I had a great experience from start to finish. Scheduling was awesome, my doctor was extremely helpful and I was fitted for contacts that same day. They even have a staff member help you put in contacts for the first time! Their office staff is very professional and welcoming.

David Olson

You know the scene in Risky Business where a group are sitting around. Someone asks the question. Doesn't anyone know want to accomplish anything, or we just want to make money? The response. just make money. make money , make lots of money. These are the doctors from Eye Care Physicians and Surgeons. The waiting room is packed. They have trained workers to do most of the exam. If you see the actual doctor for 10 minutes you are lucky. I complained about the experience and receiveda letter that I was no longer welcome. I have since gone to a family run practice in Independence and am much happier.

Burke Coleman

I was leery with all the 1 star reviews, but had a good experience. They seem to mostly be in regards to wait times, which was ok in my case. I saw Dr. Howell and found him to be compassionate, a good listener, and interested in helping with my condition. Although we agreed I was better off finding a specialized optometrist, he was helpful, and it was a positive visit.

Marie Bartlett

I have been here 3 times now and I always wait AT LEAST a half an hour to get in to the room, then get into the room and wait another 30 minutes to see the doc....I'm not sure why this happens, maybe they overbook?? It's not an emergency department....I made this appointment. When I have an eye appointment, I plan to be here for at least 3 hours for something that should honestly take an hour at MOST. I'm a patient person, and I'm an emergency nurse, but this is ridiculous. Oh, and if you call to order contacts, expect an insanely long phone tree and to be on hold for 14 minutes. I'm done. On to the next eye doctor!

Viloet Blue

We have been paitents for years. Great customer service.

I had a basic eye exam, completly done by the technician. The doctor came in, shook my hand, said, “you don’t need glasses.” Cost me $260.00 That’s the most I’ve ever been charged for a basic eye exam, and the least time I’ve ever spent with a doctor who was seeing me. The tech was rude, and short with me throughout the exam. Honestly, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had with getting my eyes checked. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Brianna Wenger

Terrible experience, weren't up front about costs, I told them I was interested in contacts but unsure. They encouraged me to try them without telling me it would cost money to even try. I waited another 45 minutes for a tech to help me try to put them in. I decided I didn't like them. And when I asked how much I could spend on glasses I was told none because apparently on top of the cost of the initial vision check they charged me $150 to sit with the tech for 15 to try putting them in. So for an appointment where I saw the optometrist for 1 minute they charged me $430. That's ridiculous!

Patricia Gimenez-Eguibar

I would recommend the international and latino community to refrain from using this place. It is not only that they have very serious problems with racism but also they mess things up even providing wrong prescriptions. Seriously, if I were a doctor there, I would fire all their staff, those dudes have problems in so many levels.

Judy Hull

I waited for well over an hour without any explanation. My husband's appointment time was "changed" without any notification. Don't waste your time. There have to be better options out there - we are going to find a different eye doctor for our family.

Joan Conklin

My mother got new lenses and they cracked the frame, it broke completely soon and they denied any wrongdoing or responsibility. It's always extremely busy and waiting 2-3 hours is normal. Very expensive too!

J C

Would give zero stars if I could. These guys are shameless. The nicest when it comes to sell, the ugliest when it comes to dealing with insurance paperwork and warranty. Honest people own their mistakes, not these fellas. I should have read other reviews before coming here. Don’t waste here your hard-earned money, energy and time.

David Hamilton

My Appointment was at 9:40. I'm bored in the exam chair waiting to see a doctor and it is currently 11:20... If you love waiting forever, you'll love this place. I don't.

Lola C

Been trying for two weeks to make an appt. for my cataract surgery. No emails. I work all day and have taken the time to call Dr. Stice's scheduler and we play phone tag. It's awful. He is a good doctor and I like the place, but am not able to comprehend why I can't make an appointment for this surgery. So stressed out about it.

Heighlee Joyce

This place is awful. I had an appointment arrived on time and I wasn’t taken back for 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to be. I was treated very rudely by staff who were extremely disrespectful. I’d recommend going somewhere else!

Camella Butts

Have never had a problem with any staff member and when I had an emergency I got in on the same day to see my own doctor. Caring people. Have witnessed rude people trying to bully the front reception staff, and considering the situation, they acted professionally. All are wonderful people.

Jamie P

I had an absolutely horrible experience!! I am not from the area originally, and scheduled an appt with Willamette Valley due to insurance acceptance. I had lost my glasses over the weekend, and needed to be seen asap. The next day, I drove to Willamette Valley. The sign stated they have now moved to Liberty St. I drove there, and the parking was an absolute nightmare. They had a traffic director due to the insanity of it. I waited in line at the receptionist desk for 20 minutes. My appt time had now come and gone. I overheard the receptionist be very rude to 2 patients. It was appalling. When it was my turn, I handed the receptionist my insurance card. She stated that they did not accept my insurance, as I was out of network. I stated that I had verified with my insurance company as well as Eye Care physicians on the day that they I made the appt that they did, in fact, accept it. She called an extension, and told me "No, we do not". I told her I was upset that I had been told that the day prior. She rudely pushed my card at me and said, "There's nothing I can do about that." I then called my insurance company who again told me that they do accept it. I called back to the doctors office and was told, "I'm sorry about that. I guess we do. Let me see what I can do." She then came back on the line, and said "Actually, we aren't sure if we do. Our book keeper will have to call you." I called my insurance company one more time and again was told "What is wrong with this place. Yes they do. Tell them to bill us anyway." I received a call from the receptionist, not the bookkeeper later in the day who said, "I'm sorry. We do accept it. You should have verified with your insurance company." I stated that I had done that 3 times. She then said, "Well if you simply shown your card to the receptionist she would have known." I told her that I had, in fact, shown my card to the receptionist. I was then scheduled for an appt in Keizer the following morning. Very rude staff, and a chaotic environment. Clearly they need more training on insurance plans.

Juana Elliott

I took the grandkids for their appts. Didn't have to wait too long. Only problem I had was choosing frames. Insurance only covered a certain amount. One of the ladies that helped with showing us the frames, wasn't very friendly. I wanted to stay close to what the insurance would pay and she just didn't seem to thrilled about that. The other lady who has an accent was super nice and helpful. I appreciated her help. She really helped in keeping us within our budget.

Bonnie Griswold

I have gone to this clinic for many years and recently had 2 successful cataract surgeries by Dr. Neahring. I now have 20/20 vision which I have not had since before I started wearing glasses at age 15! I do not mind waiting for awhile to have my eye test done.

jelly bro1223

My dad went to this eye clinic for his eye surgery and had a successful surgery . My dad does not wear contacts or glasses it was worth the time and money .

Judith Dahn

I love this place. I have been a returning customer for 3 years and I highly reccommend it to others. The Dr. I see is wonderful, I have tons of choices for glasses and the service is great.

Kylee Schweer

They are nice. But the wait is long

Oregon Health Authority

Been going here for years and finally just had enough. Eye Care Physicians and Surgeons simply isn't a place that provides the attention necessary to find the right contacts, and they make you feel like you need to hurry through your decisions, which makes you feel like you don't have time to find what you really need and they charge you 150-200 EXTRA just to fit you for new contacts, but then don't give you the time necessary to justify them charging that extra fitting fee. I felt like they didn't want to take the time necessary to properly fit me with the right multi-focal contacts but they sure had no problem taking the EXTRA money FOR THAT VERY PURPOSE. You are charged for the exam (fine), and then a contact lens fitting/lens checking fee (fine) but then if you want anything new, they charge you all these extra fitting fees which TOO WOULD BE FINE if they made you feel like they wanted to actually take more than five minutes to help you find what works best rather than making you feel hurried and as if you are wasting their time because they book so many patients that you feel like cattle being pushed through while they try to get to the next patient. The actual doctors spend very little time with you and much of the very precise work is done by assistants who don't seem to truly have the background necessary to do what the doctor should be doing. Staff seem stressed and overworked and sometimes they are friendly but just as often they can be rude (schedulers, contact ordering staff, assistants). I gave them the benefit of the doubt for way too long and finally realized that they are not helpful the way an actual eye DOCTOR should be. Honestly, they seem to spend more time and effort on expanding and enhancing the aesthetics of their offices, when most people really just want quality doctors who use their education to help you get what you need.

Accurate vision test, but ophthalmologist seemed completely disinterested. When I ordered frames and they came in, they called on a very busy day, I confirmed I wanted frames and then they called later saying they were going to send my frames back if I didn't pay right away! Then they didn't even tell me I needed to come in to do the frame fit, reading exam. What is the matter with these people? Found the same frame later in Albany much cheaper... I wish I could say something positive but I just can't. This business is having customer relation problems.
