We were very happy with my son’s care with Dr. Wheeler. After some issues with squinting, we took my almost 4-year-old son into a different eye clinic to get his eyes checked. They gave him glasses, but they didn’t seem to be helping, so we decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Wheeler. He and the staff took their time with our son, who sometimes has significant trouble talking to strangers, and they were able to help him feel comfortable enough to speak with them during the exam and were able to get an accurate prescription. They discovered he didn’t actually need glasses. We are so grateful that Dr. Wheeler and the staff took their time to give my son such great care and prevent any issues with wearing glasses that weren’t necessary!
Awesome staff and Dr goodman is really good...best eye care hospital for kids...
I am not an expert on hospital care but have had a number of surgeries. I have never had better care than I have had with CECA. Doctor Wheeler to nurse Linda were the best. Thank you!
My son was diagnosed with a unilateral congenital cataract and we were sent to see Dr Wheeler. He is amazing at first we were a little overwhelmed with having a two month old who needed eye surgery but Dr wheeler was great and walked is through everything. Dr Bavasi is so amazing with answering all our contact lens question and getting them ordered quickly! Gary-Lee was amazing at getting my son fitted for his glasses! I love all the stuff there and would highly recommend them to anyone!!!! They saved my son's vision.
Very kind, professional, and focused on finding a solution for my problem. More knowledgeable than any other specialist who worked on my problem.
(Translated by Google) The staff is very friendly (Original) Es muy amable el personal
Arrived 15 minutes early filled out the paperwork they told me they were going to mail me and never did. 34 minutes after our appointment was scheduled for I asked if we were going to be seen soon and she said she would check. She came back saying if I had filled the paperwork out faster we wouldn't have had to wait so long. She was very rude and when I said we are go to cancel the appointment the other lady yelled goodbye as we walked out the door. Low class.
Nice place. Staff are professionals and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Dr Wheeler, as I was extremely impressed with the care he provided for our infant daughter. He was very professional and thorough in his exam, while explaining every part of the process with me as he went. I trust his expertise and appreciate all of the information given to me before leaving his office.
Very friendly staff, happy with doctor and his explanation of care
Our daughter has been seen by Dr. Wheeler since she was a newborn and she's about to turn 14. He always takes the time to listen to and answer all of our questions. This is one quality doctor. Highly recommend.
Dr. Goodman is fantastic! However the billing department, not so great. I ordered glasses for my child and was charged one time and then 2 separate authorizations showed up on my account. This all totalling around $450. Along with some other issues having to deal with the lack of communication between the billing department and the front desk and a quick collect. They have lost my business. Which they don't seem to care about. I really enjoyed Dr Goodman. And I'm frustrated with the lack of compassion that the billing lady had towards my banking account going in to an over drawn status twice because of them.
Great staff, our doctor was very kind and accommodating.
Dr.Goodman helped me through a very stressful point in my life, I wouldn't trade her for any other doctor!
My son was having eye issues, I did not like the first doctor I was referred to, so I looked for another place on my own. I found child eye Care associates and decided to give them a try. I was so impressed with everyone I was in contact with. The women at the front desk were all so nice, the technician was very nice and knowledgeable and made my son feel very comfortable. Everyone I saw there smiled or said hi to us. We saw Dr. Goodman and she was wonderful. She told me son what was going on in a way he would understand without over simplifying it, and answered all my questions. She was very thorough, very sweet, I really liked her, and my son was very comfortable with her. I am so glad I decided to find a second doctor to see my son. I will definitely take any of my kids there when they need an eye exam even though I live 50 minutes away.
Dr. Wheeler and the assistant we had were amazing with my 15 month old. They were so gentle and playful with him so it made him calm and able to sit through the exam! I couldn’t be more impressed with them! I wasn’t super impressed with the receptionist when we walked in, but the one we spoke with on the way out was super friendly and seemed like she wanted to be at her job compared to the other receptionist. We passed some other doctors and staff in the hallway by the rooms and they were all super kind and friendly!
Excellent support staff. Visit took a long time as it was a consult, but this was well communicated ahead of time and each part of the visit moved along nicely. Dr Goodman was knowledgeable and great at listening and explaining. My child felt very comfortable.
Always a good experience at this place. Never have had any problems.
Dr Wheeler and his assistant explained the procedures and options of future surgery. I valued the information and value understanding what I can - re my vision issues. So I appreciated the time they took to answer my questions.
Overall Dr. Goodman and her back staff were very great and professional with my daughter. I gave 4 stars because our appointment was 8:30 am we arrived early we waited outside of there locked doors for almost 27 minutes they open at 8:00 am but "forgot" to unlock the door. As we were waiting another front desk employee arrived and told us it should be open it was not as she tried her key she couldn't get it to work. The other front desk employee who we could see the whole time we waited and never acknowledged us came to unlock the door she immediately became snappy infont of us to the other employee and was very rude and unprofessional. I don't care what issues you two have between each other but arguing in front of patients is very unprofessional. As we waited to be called back they started bickering with each other over paperwork that was or was not received who knows as it wasn't something they should have bickered about loud enough for us and everyone to hear. It made us very uncomfortable and uneasy
Friendly staff. Optometrist very professional, thorough, and patient with my child. Appointment ran on time. Very satisfied.
Front desk is rude
Dr Goodman is amazing! She has been working with my 5 yr old son to correct his vision and lazy eye, has explained the entire process and put all my worries at ease. She performed surgery perfectly. We love her!
Really like the staff & love Dr Goodman, they are great with kids. This apt is usually long and requires a wait to dialate eyes but there’s toys and books enough for kids to be entertained.
U guys are horrible
Dr. Wheeler has been amazing over the years. It makes me sad that I feel it necessary to give this rating but their billing practices are horrible. I paid several hundred $ out of pocket with the understanding that insurance was being billed on top of that. The receipt I was giving showed several hundred more pending insurance. A couple months later I was wondering why I hadn’t received an EOB and when I called they informed me they never billed insurance because they knew the visit wasn’t covered...there never was a pending amount, just shady business!
Doctors here are great! My son was 3, and they did great with him. He needed a very strong pair of glasses. Everything went well. Until... I received a bill. My son is double covered. They billed his secondary insurance first, which of course won't pay when there's another payer first. It's been also a year, and received another bill stating they do not bill VSP. i was not aware of this, not until almost a year later. Not that they are just not contracted, but flat out not willing to even submit the claim in order to get the denial so secondary will pay. The biller, Tracy, never answers the phone. You always need to leave a voicemail, and she doesn't return calls. Again, doctors are great- the billing brings them down. We will not be returning, and I'll be advising my son's pediatric doctor that they are not good about their billing practices.
This place is definitely designed for kids. There's a play area with toys and all the staff was great with my 6 year old. Unfortunately, they didn't bother telling me that they don't accept my insurance until AFTER the appointment. Since then, I've tried contacting them several times to pay my bill using their email and phone number listed on our bill. I've never had any communication back and they're closed on the only days that I can go pay in person.
Dr. B was awesome! She helped my son feel relaxed during his eye exam especially before getting eye drops. Looking forward to next years visit.
Dr. Goodman and her staff have a wonderful way with children. The eye doctor is the "fun" doctor. The kids appreciate the toys and playful interactions; I appreciate the first-rate opthalmologic care.
Due to my child's disposition, I was expecting a rough appointment, but the nurses and doctor worked easily with my child. The staff was great at finding ways to communicate with my child even when she refused to speak the entire appointment. I am grateful for the creativity and professionalism of this practice.
The entire staff took plenty of time to explain and advise. After my initial visit, I am totally comfortable with The Associates and look forward to having my procedure completed.
Our daughter has been seeing Dr Goodman since she was six months. Since then Dr Goodman and her staff have been great. They put children first. Recommended!
Wait time was horrific. Not a great pediatric practice. The only pediatric thing they did was they have some toys in the waiting room. That's all. How that makes this a pediatric office is beyond me.
Terrible communication until the bill comes, and treated rudely when you have questions for better clarification as to why I owe $254 for an eye exam. Specialist or not this is not even routine and customary fees. DISAPPOINTED! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE!!!!
Dr. Wheeler changed my life with the strabismus eye muscle surgery I underwent. I documented this journey on youtube searchable by my name. I highly reccomend this awesome group of people!!
I consider the very professional. I’m very impressed with Sally’s skill and experience. I find that Dr. Wheeler inspires confidence and is thorough and empathetic, The front office people are pleasant and helpful.
Front office staff friendly. Rachel worked well with my child at intake. Then, we saw Dr. Shawn Goodman. We were referred by our pediatrician for stye and possible cellulitis. I was most worried about cellulitis! When we left, my girl was crying, and I was mad for the rest of the day. Right off, she made a snap judgment that I was a lax parent, not doing as I was told. (I stopped doing the hot compresses, as I was worried about infection and constant elevated temperature.) She cut me off and talked over me. She quickly hung her head when my child resisted her. She rolled her eyes at me. And was generally dismissive. I felt like we were an annoyance. And how dare I explain my actions, or question anything! I would have preferred to be compassionately educated, not flipped attitude. She may be a good doctor, but her bed-side manner leaves much to be desired. I feel hurt and angry. My girl now says she hates doctor visits. I expect more patience, nurturing and compassion at a clinic that caters to children. Her behavior was disrespectful, unnecessary and unprofessional. She has forgotten what it feels like to be a child.
