Friendly, outgoing staff. Very accomodating to individual needs. I love dealing with my doctor because she is engaging and has a good sense of humor. Lots of different and quality choices on lenses and frames.

I had a great experience at this practice recently. Dr. Starr was professional and kind. The office was welcoming and the staff was very helpful. I highly recommend.

Laurence Boor

Dr. Marquardt is the best.

I had Lasik surgery with Dr. Selser yesterday! I would give the surgery 5 stars! Dr. Selser took time to explain every step and made sure that I was always comfortable throughout the whole procedure. 24 hours later my vision has improved so much. The staff that I encountered between surgery and follow ups were all very friendly. The only con that I have is the wait times in the waiting room and in exam rooms could be a bit better, but I understand things happen. All in all this was a great experience and I highly recommend Dr. Selser!!!

I made an appointment to have my eyes checked to get a new pair of glasses. The appointment was with Dr. Selser, but the Examination was done by a technician, and Dr. Selser came in and said that the next time I would see a Another Doctor, I asked him why another Doctor and he said that he did surgery , so I beleive he was looking for surgery patients. I thought the eye examination would be done by a Doctor , not a technician, so I was disappointed in that respect, so needless to say I will not be going back there for another appointment for new glasses.

Not only did they expedite my cataract surgery date and do a fantastic job, the office and clinic staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I had a pressing issue, in that I needed glasses/contact lenses after my surgery because I was struggling to read music for my job. The staff kicked into gear and matched me up with a staff optician -- literally within minutes -- who fixed me up with contacts so I could leave the office that day, go to rehearsal, and finally be able to read without difficulty. I'm sad to read the negative reviews here; I have had nothing but positive experiences in my half-dozen visits there. I'll never go anywhere else.

Good eye doc. But the wait is absolutely ridiculous! It doesn’t matter how early you come you’ll be waiting a minimum of 30 minutes after you’re scheduled you actually get called back. The absolute slowest office by far. I guess their time is more valuable than mine? Who knows.

I’ve only been to one other eye doctor aside from one visit the Mansfield Eye for nearly twenty years. Everything from making an appointment, to the appointment itself, the subsequent failure to follow-up, and the apathy of the office managers to my complaints was well below what I would expect. It took 5 weeks to schedule an appointment, only to have the office call the day before my appointment to tell me the doctor I was seeing was “new” and couldn’t take my insurance - so I needed to see another doctor. My appointment was originally to see an MD and I was switched to seeing a DO. The exam itself was something like I had 20 years ago. The office is still using manual machines, along with dilating drops and it’s a dingy exam room that hasn’t been touched in a decade. Technology isn’t just for show - and a lack of technology is probably a red flag. My DO didn’t want to make any changes to my current prescription without seeing my previous exam records from another doctor. That makes no sense to me if I’m there for a second opinion. I was instructed to follow up “in a couple of weeks” to see if my records had been transferred. Two weeks later after hearing nothing from the office or DO I called to check the status of my next appointment. I was told my records were never received. No one could explain how or why my records were never received but that I should call the other doctor to find out. Of course, the other office said my records were sent and the two offices blame each other for who is at fault. I was told I could make another appointment but it would be another 1-2 weeks before I could get in because the DO I saw is only there twice a week. So from start to finish, 5 weeks to make an appointment, two weeks of records not being transferred, and another 1-2 weeks for a follow up appointment, it would be 8-9 weeks before I’d have had any changes to my prescription or address any of my issues. Very poor experience in all aspects from scheduling, to services of the DO, to any communication with staff over my complaints. I’d absolutely go elsewhere. I see the other reviews and have to question if they have never been to another eye doctor to compare it to.

Dr. Selser did my LASIK surgery and everything went great! I really appreciate Dr. Selser and his staff taking the time to educate me on the entire process step by step and answering all of my questions. All staff were kind, courteous and reassuring. Great experience, thank you all!

Eric Humble

The staff is kind and friendly. The doctors answered all my many questions and I felt well cared for. They were very patient and wanted to help not only find my best look for my glasses but something that was in my budget. I love my experiences here and highly recommend them.

Be ready to wait there 2+ hours beyond your appointment, right along with 20-30 people who are also waiting as you walk in. This is beyond sickening to waste someone's entire day to see the doctor. I walked right out and will never return. They're not the only gig in town and if more people stood up and walked out after waiting over an hour we wouldn't have this happening everywhere. Wish there were zero stars.

I called Ohio eye and was very impressed from the initial phone call, to the registration process, and then onto exam room, assistants and Dr. Olson. Somehow this practice has succeeded in providing excellent care while making you feel as though you are the only patient. Don’t let the large building overwhelm you. My entire visit just glided along. I highly recommend anyone searching for a thorough exam or whatever their vision problems are to this practice. I already made my next appointment!

Lola Swidler

Yikes I really hope the staff is better than the answering service. I told the operator like 10x I was looking to make a new patient appointment. He couldn't seem to understand the words coming out of my mouth

Sandy Rissler

Very impressed with the operations at Ohio Eye. I especially appreciated the phone call from Dr. Selser himself checking on me that afternoon after my cataract surgery. Everyone was so helpful and made this procedure so much easier for me.

If I had a choice of giving this place 0 stars I would, but unfortunately, I don't have that option. I made an appointment there, referred by my family eye doctor who had neurological concerns regarding my left eye. My appointment was for 9:15am today, however, when we left our house we ran into a slow moving train which put me exactly 4 minutes late for my appointment. So i arrived at 9:19am precisely because I looked at my iPhone going in to be sure I wasn't too late. In fact, I even called while in transit to explain to them I was going to be late but it would be less than 5 minutes. So I get there, had all my paperwork done already, turned it in, they scanned all of my insurance information and ID and off to the waiting room I went. Well, I sat there until 10:05 waiting and no one called me back. My daughter had an appointment at the driver's exam place down the road to get her real driver's license, so I had no alternative than to leave. I call back just about five minutes ago and spoke to Kelly, the "upstairs supervisor" who was about the rudest person I've ever spoken to. When I explained my story and why I had to leave, her response was, "well I'm sorry if you didn't get seen right as you walk through the door." Then proceeded to tell me that she was standing next to the owner (which was another doctor forgot his name) and if I wanted to talk to him I could. I replied, "Well if the owner is standing next to you listening to you talk down to me like that, it wouldn't do any good to talk to him anyways." I never asked to be seen instantly upon entering the building, but sitting there 50 minutes is again, according to Kelly "perfectly normal for Dr. Skarie because he's an Ophthalmologist and he is very busy." lol I wonder how all those world class doctors do it at Cleveland Clinic? I don't ever recall waiting more than 10 minutes for any appointment we've ever had there. Anyways, to me it sounded like she could just about do or say whatever she wanted in front of him and he wouldn't say anything. Sounds more than just a little unprofessional to me. Maybe his wife should look into that a little better. Whatever the case, I'll never go back after being talked to like that and hope whoever reads this understands that you'll more than likely be sitting there for at least an hour to 1.5 hours because Dr. Skarie is in the building and he's a "very busy man." No one else's busy day matters, because "he's an Ophthalmologist!!"

This review comes with weight as I used to work for an eye doctor. My appointment was scheduled and began at 10:30. The waiting room was packed with at minimum 30 Medicare recipients. I walked out at 12:30 after waiting for over an hour in a hallway with dilated eyes while gossiping staff held up walls. It takes 15 minutes for eyes to fully dilate! The doctor was smug, shaming me for a disease that can eventually alter eyesight....I have zero control over my genetics makeup!! His tone was incredibly asinine and discriminatory....possibly self serving for a diagnosis to justify an unneeded procedure. I received a WELL rehearsed voicemail inviting me back to re-dilate my eyes at 1pm, shortly after. Steer clear of this well-to-do practice until they master some time management.
