I rarely write reviews but having had such an exceptionally positive experience with Dr. S Belmont and the Belmont Eye Center I feel inclined to. Prior to surgery I was short-sighted (-3.50 each eye) and had to deal with daily contact lenses or glasses wear which was rather tiresome after over 15 years of use. Prior to selecting the Belmont Eye Center I completed extensive research on the various options out there and spoke with many reputable professionals in this field. Dr. Belmont's extensive experience (25 years), scientific and operational expertise and the general positive feel I got with interactions with Dr. Belmont and her team, made the Belmont Eye Center a clear choice for treatment! Dr. Belmont uses advanced PRK as a primary choice for vision enhancement treatment as the risks are greatly reduced vs. Lasik and the other options due to the lack of physical eye incision. The outcome was that a quick and painless eye operation led to me having 20/10 vision in both eyes; that is significantly better than normal healthy vision!! In the following months the treatment involves regular check-ins, eye health evaluations and eye tests to ensure that everything remains in strong working order. It was a pleasure to have such a positive experience when all that I expected from laser eye surgery was an uncomfortable interaction with a laser followed by unsatisfactory results. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Belmont and her team- they were fantastic to work with and their results are absolutely phenomenal. My life has improved significantly since treatment and I can only recommend to take the next step and get the Belmont Eye Center booked!

After wearing glasses since high school, I decided I've had enough and consulted with Dr. Belmont to have the PRK procedure done. Process from start to finish was seamless. Everything was explained in great detail. I was worried about recovery time and decided to do the procedure on Friday of Memorial Day weekend to give myself an extra day before going back to work. Recovery was painless just a bit uncomfortable on Saturday, day after procedure. Didn't need any of pain meds at all. Sunday was out and about and could've easily been back at work on Monday. Two weeks after the procedure and I'm already at 20/20.

I had PRK surgery in January of 2015. I began wearing glasses in the third grade and contacts at age 16. I did quite a bit of online research prior to making my decision. I had read some horror stories and honestly it took me years to finally commit to doing it. I knew of Dr. Belmont from a family member, but opted to visit other doctors as well After my initial visit with Dr. Belmont, I knew I wanted her to perform the surgery. Her manner and knowledge put me at ease immediately. I wanted someone with extensive experience and good patient reviews.The entire staff, from the front desk to back office accounting were very accommodating and easy to work with. Dr. Belmont talked me through the entire procedure, step by step. Sitting up and being able to see in just minutes is truly amazing . I was very anxious the first 2 days after surgery and received an immediate response when I called. Everything was fine, i just wanted confirmation that what i was experiencing was typical. My only regret is not having done it sooner.

I wanted to get Lasik before I went on vacation, so I googled a couple of places and spoke to many different eye facilities around the city. I ended up making an appointment with another doctor that a friend requested (which required my credit card and a payment of $150). My mom was extremely nervous and requested that I go see my primary eye doctor to see if Lasik was the right choice for me. Dr. Pass recommended I call Dr. Belmont. When John picked up the phone, I immediately knew I was calling the right place. He didn't pick up and give me a price, he answered every single ridiculous question I had. He knew about the surgery, where the other places just had someone to pick up the phone and give me pricing information. I immediately felt comfortable with the idea of Lasik. I made an appointment for a couple of days later for the eye tests and went back the day after to get the surgery. They did things the safe way at the office, not the quick way to make money and get me out of the office as soon as possible. Dr. Belmont even called me over the next couple of days (on the weekend) to see how I was doing. They really were the best, I recommend her to everyone! :)

I had PRK done by Dr. Belmont and am very happy with the results. Late in 2012 I had cataract surgery that resulted in one of my eyes having distorted vision that could not be effectively corrected with glasses. I had a consultation with a prominent cataract surgeon in NYC to see if anything could be done to correct the problem and he recommended that I consult Dr. Belmont about PRK. She performed PRK in March of 2015 and my vision is now greatly improved. Dr. Belmont is not only highly skilled, but is also a very personable and caring physician. Thank you Dr. Belmont!

I have done my Lasik from Belmont Eye Center on July 28, 2015. Unfortunately, it did not improve my close (reading) vision. It only improved distance vision. I started to use reading glasses on November 21, 2015 prescribed my Eye Doctor of COHEN'S Fashion Optical. Here I have attached two prescriptions. First one is dated on November 21, 2015 and the second prescription is dated on January 1st, 2017. As of today (10/21/2017), I am still using my reading glasses. Since my reading vision did not improved yet. I paid $3750 to Belmont Eye Center. Dr. Sandra Belmont stated at that time, I don't have to use reading glasses for next 20 years. In fact, I started using reading glasses after 3 months. Please Beware of Belmont Lasik Procedures and don't forget to record conversations with Dr. Sandra Belmont.

Although, I had a wonderful experience with the office from setting up my consultation over the phone with John who was extremely friendly to my actual appointment with Dr. Belmont who was reassuring and knowledgeable, I was worried about the outcome. For weeks after the surgery, I was still seeing somewhat blurry. I'd gone from like 20/200 to 20/50 so things were definitely better, but I missed the 20/20 vision that my glasses had previously afforded me. Everyone in the office reassured me that sometimes it takes a while for your eyes to heal, and now 3 months later, I've finally returned to write the good review I'd been hoping for. My vision is GREAT! Dr. Belmont has such high reviews for a reason.

Unfortunately with a heavy heart I can only give 2 stars. Dr. Belmont was very helpful at first and throughout the surgery. But really I should have never gotten PRK. I have had dry eyes for all my life. I have told Dr. Belmont about it and specifically asked if I was even a candidate for PRK surgery and she said dry eyes had zero influence on PRK. Which is true for the surgery part but I found it to be very untrue for the healing process. My corneas are unable to heal because at night my dry eyelids stick to my corneas like glue (hence the lack of tears) and if I move my lids too quickly when waking up or while dreaming, my corneas "rip" - which feels like a hot knife stabbing me into the eyes and then pouring some chili powder in. My surgery was 10 months ago and still I am having "corneal erosions" about every 10-14 days. I keep telling Dr. Belmont but unfortunately she brushes it off and just prescribes another kind of drop to me. I have literally tried all drops out there, nothing helps. I feel talked into a surgery that I wasn't a great candidate for and now have to live with the consequences without any help from Dr. Belmont. I have consulted many other eye doctors since and will have to find a solution from these horrors nights with someone else.

I had my surgery in 2009 and I could not be happier. I've worn glasses since I was ten years old, I am now 37. I was once also diagnosed with astigmatism and told that I would not be a good candidate for surgery, but this information was incorrect. I love not dealing with contacts or glasses. I love being able to wake up and see. Also, I gave birth to my son last year and it's often said when you're pregnant your eye sight will fluctuate and sometimes change. My fear was that my vision was going to change and that I would need glasses again but following the birth of my son I visited Dr. Belmont to have my eyes checked and I still have 20/20. I am a very happy customer. Dr. Belmont is wonderful and she has a great staff as well.

Dr. Belmont was my choice after one other failed consultation and a ton of online research, and I definitely made the right choice! During my consultation with Dr. Belmont I felt confident that she was the right doctor for me. She made me feel at ease and educated me about the procedure and after care. Dr. Belmont highly suggested doing the No Cut Lasik surgery (PRK) because she felt that in the future the overall results are much more successful. I had my surgery on Friday, May 18th and chose the last appointment slot. She was very thorough and i felt safe. I took a cab home and went straight to sleep. The after care varies for each patient but in my case the first couple days of healing were kind of hard - opening my eyes to put the drops in was difficult and overall i was in some discomfort. On the fourth day of healing that day was terrible and i felt in the worst pain (I had a huge migraine and was practically blind) I called the doctor because i felt the protective contact had fallen out in my sleep - but my eyes were just incredibly dry and the contact was still on. After Monday, I could see and the discomfort was gone! The other staff at the office is EXCELLENT. They are all incredibly intelligent and make follow up visits easy.

I am a 34 year old athletic female. For the past 3 years or so my contacts had been so uncomfortable because of how dry my eyes had become. I was told by my eye doctor that wearing contacts was not good for my eyes anymore. So I resorted back to glasses. However, I quickly realized the limitations of glasses as an athlete. Glasses under ski goggles or swim googles were not an option for me. This really motivated me to look more closely into laser vision correction. I am so glad I found Dr Belmont. She was recommended by a co worker and after my first consultation at The Belmont Eye Center, I knew I was making the right decision. Dr Belmont put me through a series of tests to make sure I was a candidate for laser vision correction. She spent ample time explaining to me the different surgical options. Less than 2 weeks later, I had PRK laser vision correction with Dr Belmont. It was less than a 10 minute procedure, but the results are life changing! It is so great to see so clearly and not need ANYTHING! I am no longer dependent on glasses or contacts. I don't have to squint to see the time on the alarm clock any more, or grumble about having to take out my contacts before going to bed. I am so impressed with my results that I have been telling everyone I know who wears contacts that they should get laser vision correction. Dr. Belmont been excellent in her care and her bedside manor is exemplary. Thank you Dr Belmont for bringing my world into focus again! It truly is amazing.

I am extremely satisfied with Dr Belmont and staff. Dr Belmont, Dr Cho and John are all truly spectacular. I had my PRK surgery in the middle of February, Dr Belmont and team clearly explained to me post operative care and what to expect and the stages towards full correction. It has been about 2.5 months and it feels like I am seeing 20/20 atleast long distance. The procedure itself by Dr Belmont was painless and done meticulously to perfection. John has been superb in coordinating and orienting me in what to expect as well as being patient with my scheduling and rescheduling and he does all of this with the highest level of customer orientation. I don't ever do this but since I've gotten so many inquiries about Lasik and other ways of laser eye correction for actors, I figured I’d share! Dr. Sandra Belmont, there's a reason she was the one that performed laser eye surgery on Jimmy Fallon, Regis Philbin, Colin Quinn, and a bunch of other celebrity actors and actresses and that David Letterman thanked her publicly on his show for helping him with a very serious eye problem. I'm not sure how many of my students and business acquaintances know this but I was legally blind from a rare eye disease for a few years of my life and she gave me back my sight. I don't even need glasses to drive. Mandy Patinkin had the same eye disease I had (but not as bad as me) and years ago Dr. Belmont also fixed him up. Great actor and brave guy. He had to have a cornea transplant done and while still recovering, and wearing those oversized post cornea transplant dark glasses, attended the Tony Awards and talked about it and also tissue donation. In this business that took guts. THE GREAT NEWS IS DR. BELMONT IS A TRUE HUMANITARIAN AND CARES FOR PATIENTS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, NOT JUST CELEBRITIES! So all those students of mine who have asked about where to go for fixing their eyes, you now have the opportunity for a free consult with, in my opinion, the best in the United States (yeah, they even come from LA and China because of her expertise) . And one more thing, her office is different. The staff really care about you. And of course this is not a factory. When you go to the Belmont Eye Center you get Dr. Sandra Belmont. I had a serious eye problem early in my life which she fixed and I was left with perfect vision, even when other top, top doctors in the northeast and LA said there was no hope (afterwards, my vision was so good I even hired myself out as a video cameraman). So the laser stuff most of you have asked about is probably the easiest and most successful stuff she does, especially compared to what I had. Sorry if I have come off overly enthused but every now and then I think back and realize Dr. Belmont really changed my life so much. I would never have been able to do what I do today if not for her. I would never have been named best acting teacher, best acting coach, best etc., by Backstage magazine (ok, shameless personal plug) , have actors fly in from other countries to work with me, work on a recent film with acclaimed director Peter Bogdanovich... if not for Dr. Belmont. She doesn't know I've written this and I hope she doesn't mind. I've wanted to write to her so many times to express my gratitude but kept putting it off because I couldn't find the words. I'm writing this just after Thanksgiving. Maybe unconsciously that's why I suddenly wrote down all these words. I'm thankful. I'm thankful to Dr. Sandra Belmont for giving me back the precious gift of sight. I'm realizing right now why this all came gushing out.
