Dr. Perl and his staff are wonderful. Jackie took her time to answer all of my question regarding LASIK and was extremely comforting during the whole experience. Dr. Perl did an amazing job and made sure I was doing OK throughout and following the LASIK surgery. He even called me later that night just to see how I was doing and to answer any questions I had which I thought was very genuine. By the next morning, my vision was already better than 20/20 following the procedure. Overall, the whole experience went very well. If you're thinking about doing LASIK, I highly recommend Dr. Perl and his staff!

I was extremely nervous to get LASIK - I had thought about doing so for years, but never had the courage to do so / felt comfortable enough with a place. That was until I went to Corneal Associates. I just had my LASIK procedure done on Tuesday afternoon, and was able to see immediately afterwards. The staff, experience, overall everything was GREAT. I am going to highly recommend them to any friends/family I have that are thinking of getting LASIK. I was SO HAPPY to wake up and be able to read the clock! They are the best place to go for LASIK. I has my LASIK surgery with Dr. Perl 3 weeks ago. The doctor, staff and facility are very professional. A few people mentioned Dr. Perl was very reputable. When I met with him for my consultation I was impressed by his track record. Before going to see Dr. Perl I visited another company, but I felt they were not as professional as I would have liked. I immediately noticed a difference when I met Dr. Perl. I would recommend LASIK and Dr. Perl to anyone looking to have this surgery performed. They were very careful and caring. The only thing I regret was not getting the Lasik procedure done years ago. I've been wearing contacts and glasses since i was in 5th grade. Now I'm 33. After my last 2 consecutive eye infections due to my contacts, I finally had enough and decided to get the Lasik procedure. It has been a life changer and it was worth every penny. The staff was friendly and coached me through the process. The procedure was quick and painless. I was in and out in under an hour. When I went back the next day for the post appointment I had 20/15 vision. They say your vision will fluctuate for the next month or so. When I went for a follow up appointment with my general eye doctor the next month I was still at 20/15 vision. I've had no problems since the procedure and continue to enjoy better than 20/20 vision. If you're on the fence about getting the procedure, do yourself a favor and just get it done. Also get it done at Corneal Associates and request Dr. Perl. You won't regret it!

I have kertaconus, and was told to see Dr. Pearl. I went in and I have to say I was displeased with the reception desk, they didn't make it feel very welcoming. However the tech Cible, Dr. Pearl, and Jackie the surgery cordinator were absolutely amazing. They were so kind and helpful answered every question thrown their way. Cible gave me the most in depth eye exam i think I've ever had. I strongly recommend them, they're amazing! Just try not to let the receptionist ruin the whole experience!

I had Lasik done at Corneal Associates last week and had a wonderful experience. They have the nicest doctors office I have ever seen, makes you feel very comfortable knowing they have such a nice modern and clean office with the best equipment. Starting from the initial consultation everything went very well. Dr Pearl explained the procedure very well explaining step by step the entire process and answering all of my questions. The day of the procedure was very quick in and out in 30minutes. 10-15 minutes of that was a very unexpected and relaxing massage from a masseuse to put you at ease. The actual procedure took about 5-7 minutes I would say and it was very easy just relax and let Dr Pearl and his staff take care of everything and a few minutes later you're done. Next day I woke up and I could see very very well drove back to Corneal Associates and everything checked out well. I highly recommend them for all your eye care needs.

The path that brought me to Corneal Associates of New Jersey for Lasik surgery was a bit of a circuitous one, but as a strong believer in the theory of “everything happens for a reason” I could not be more thrilled that I wound up in the trusting hands of Dr. Perl and his amazing staff. From my initial conversation with Lynn in the office booking my consult, I had the confidence that this was the place for me. I was so pleased with the initial free consult that it led right into a “pre-op” visit where Dr. Perl and his associates Danielle and Sybil were more than patient and professional with me answering all my questions and making me feel at ease. Lynn was readily available to answer questions and concerns for me as they came to mind in the week between “pre-op” and the day of surgery. My surgery day was scheduled for this past Tuesday December 6th. About 20 minutes prior to my surgery, Lynn came and got me and escorted me to an exam room where they gave me a 15 minute chair massage to help me relax. I was then escorted to the “operating room” where Sybil and Anne Marie were assisting Dr. Perl and could not have been nice or more comforting. The procedure took less than 10 minutes start to finish. I was very impressed that Dr. Perl called me personally later that evening to see how I was doing. When I went back the next morning for my post-op visit I was seeing better than 20/20 in both eyes. My only regret, like most, is wondering why I waited so long. For anybody contemplating having Lasik surgery, I would not think twice about using the doctors and staff of Corneal Associates of New Jersey.

Buh bye glasses and contacts! Last Tuesday I got LASIK surgery! I’ve worn glasses and contacts since 5th grade. I’ve owned (and lost) over 20 pairs of glasses, and 7,300 contacts. I decided to get the surgery because my contacts were driving crazy. My eyes are always itchy due to allergies, so my contacts frequently pop out the second I rub my eyes. During the Pan-Mass Challenge, I was cycling on mile 70 when I had water splashed into my face and my one of my contacts fell out. I couldn’t pull over, and I almost crashed into another cyclist. At that point, I made my choice to get the LASIK. I quickly found out via word of mouth about Dr. Perl at Corneal Associates of New Jersey. It turns out we have a mutual good friend. I learned that he is known as one of the best LASIK surgeons in the nation! He is the top ranking corneal surgeon on Yelp and Google. I made an appointment, and learned that I was a candidate for the surgery. Two weeks later, I had the surgery, and it was totally painless! I had so much anxiety going into it initially. I was scared that NJ was going to have an earthquake as he was shooting lasers into my eyes. However, Dr. Perl assured me that the lasers would only work if they were matched to my corneas, so if I sneezed, or if NJ had an earthquake, the lasers would just turn off. Dr. Perl also told me he has done this surgery over 15,000 times with great results. Dr. Perl was so patient with me, as he answered all 20,000 of my questions. He even called me the night of my surgery to check in! I was worried that I would need to take off from work after the surgery, but there was no need. I literally sat up after the surgery, and could see the clock! I went home and slept for 3 hours, and I woke up seeing EVERYTHING so clearly! By the next day, my vision was 20/15. I can only describe my new vision as going from an old 1990 TV screen (you know the kind that weighed 200 pounds and was blurry to watch) to a 2017 HDTV screen. I can see things with such precision and clarity. LASIK has helped me in so many ways. I can now go on long bike rides without having to worry that my contacts are going to pop out of my eyes. It has even impacted my job. As a 5th grade math teacher, I can see my students’ work from standing across the room, and give them live feedback. I could never do that with contacts. If you are considering LASIK surgery, I highly recommend going to Corneal Associates of New Jersey. Everyone there was so amazing. Dr. Perl is one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen and I am so happy I decided to get LASIK.

I have a different perspective than most because I am not only a patient at Corneal Associates, but I am also an employee. I have worn glasses / contacts for almost 33 years, since I was about 12 years old. I had thought about having LASIK done in the past, but like many, I had some fear about the procedure and I had thought that it would be too costly. My apprehensions were wrong on both accounts. Being in the field, I could have gone anywhere for my LASIK, but having witnessed Dr. Perl perform many procedures, I knew that I could trust no else with my eyesight! I am not even 24 hours into having my LASIK done yesterday and my vision is already 20/15! There was no pain and it took only minutes. The cost was minimal when I think about how much I have spent over my lifetime buying glasses and contacts, solution, etc. I could not be happier! Dr. Perl and the technicians are professional, courteous and will make you feel comfortable and at ease. I would recommend anyone that is thinking about LASIK to see if you are a candidate and have the procedure with Dr. Perl- it is literally life changing being able to see!

After my post operation check up today, my one eye improved to 20/15. I'm extremely happy with the results. Dr. Perl knows exactly what he is doing and is very professional. I was very impressed that Doctor Perl called me later last night to check and see how I was doing. I missed the call, but he left me a message outlining small side effects and to call if I had any inquiries. The surgery was quick, easy, and painless. The waiting room is comfortable and welcoming. Again, I highly recommend coming here for LASIK eye surgery. The results are worth it!

I had LASIK earlier this week and I could not be happier with my service there. The coordinator, Jacki, is a total asset and she helped me organize my entire surgery from start to finish. Dr.Pearl performed surgery and it was a snap! The facility is beautiful and clean and bright, the staff friendly and knowledgable. I was very nervous about receiving LASIK surgery since I was told many times that I would not be eligible due to a severe astigmatism and far sightedness. I was very impressed with the state of the art facilities and equipment. The consult process was extremely thorough and Dr. Perl spent time with me to explain the pros and cons of the procedure with my current sight. He did guarantee me that even if my sight would never be 20/20, the surgery would change my life. I decided to move forward and was able to sign up for a payment plan. Lynn, the office scheduler was amazing. So responsive and answered all the questions I had leading up to the day. On the day of the surgery, I arrived with my husband a bit early. So I had time for a wonderful massage to help me relax. The procedure itself was painless and very fast. Dr.Perl and his staff had me comfortable and out in about 10 minutes. That evening was probably the most uncomfortable part of the whole thing but by the next morning I felt great and was able to drive myself to my post op appointment with no trouble. I do not need glasses for reading and can see better than I have in my entire life. It has only been about five days and my long distance sight will continue to improve, but I’m very happy with how it is now! Just a bit of blurriness watching television and driving. Exactly what Dr Perl told me might be the result. I am thrilled and should have done this sooner. If you are thinking about it, I highly recommend Dr Perl. Why would you mess around with your sight. Go see the best in the area.

I would refer this place to anyone and everyone!!! What a lovely staff and wonderful Dr. Perl. I just had my lasik surgery last week and I'm now at full recovery I feel. The next day was like a whole new world. At my post op visit the next day, both Dr perl and my normal eye Dr said I had better than 20/20 vision. My eye Dr was also very impressed with Dr perls work and said what a beautiful job he has done. Also as a special surprise I got a 20 min massage before the actual surgery right in their office from their professional masseuse!!! They really put you at ease going into this surgery. During the surgery the dr and nurses were all singing and talking to me every step of the way telling me everything step by step what was happening. I couldn't be any happier with this procedure!!! Corneal Associates of New Jersey is fabulous!! The staff and Dr. Perl were warm and friendly. I was a little apprehensive at first to go ahead with the surgery, but the staff and Dr. Perl reassured me that the results would be great and they were. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up and see the digit clock across the room without having to put on prescription glasses first. I could not be more thankful to Dr. Perl and the staff of Corneal Associates. The procedure lasted a total of seven minutes with no pain whatsoever. I could see instantly. Met with Dr. Sorkin multiple times over a spank of a year to fitted for scleral contact lenses and for new glasses. He has great people skills and was trying best to get the right prescription was was never able to. I visited another doctor and was able to get the perfect prescription on the first try. I recently had lasik done in Dec of 2018. Let me begin with that the surgery went perfectly. My vision is fantastic, and I feel great. The pre-op part was great as Jackie helped me through the process and worked with my schedule as I'm a teacher and could really only get there after 3. The surgery itself was a bit uncomfortable, but I think that is normal as you have a natural reflex when something is coming at your eye. Within 15 minutes I was done. The post-op was a lot of sleeping following the schedule, and I was able to function normally the next day. I highly recommend Corneal Associates as Dr. Perl was confident, great, professional and so was his staff.

What a WONDERFUL experience. From the moment I scheduled my consultation with Jackie I knew I was making the right decision! Dr. Perl, Jackie and the rest of the staff at Corneal Associates were so helpful, pleasant, and caring. I had my LASIK procedure with Dr. Moses last week 11/8/16 and OMG what a difference. I went in for my free consultation originally with Dr. Perl back in October. The office was clean and modern. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. I went through a series of eye exams performed by one of the staff members, Sibil, who was awesome and very through. I then met with Dr. Perl who told me that I would be a great candidate for the LASIK procedure. He told me that I would be escorted to his office so that he could explain the procedure to me and answer any questions that I may have had. I waited in his office by myself for 40mins before Dr. Perl actually came to speak with me with no apology or acknowledgment offered. I was of course annoyed as I had another appointment scheduled for that day and was going to be late, but he did thoroughly explain the procedure to me and answer all of my concerns. I then met with the LASIK coordinator Jackie, who was extremely knowledgeable about everything and answered any following questions and discussed pricing. They offer a wonderful payment plan with Wells Fargo! FYI just set aside at least 2 hours for the consultation. The next day I was looking on the company's website and noticed a discount offer for $1500 off the LASIK procedure. I called Jackie and she explained that I was eligible for the incentive, however, the procedure would have to be done with Dr. Moses. She spoke very highly of Dr. Moses so we set up dates for my eye measurements and a date for the procedure to be done with Dr. Moses. The day before my eye measurements were to be done I called Jackie to ask a few questions, however I was called back by another coordinator Lynn, who informed me that she would be covering for Jackie as she would be out of office. Lynn was also very knowledgeable and helpful. It turned out that there was a mishap in scheduling my procedure. I was under the assumption that I was scheduled for my LASIK procedure 11/1/16 as Jackie and I discussed, but I was not on the schedule for that day. I was of course disappointed and frustrated as I had already taken the day off from work and set up a ride to take me home for that day. Jackie went above and beyond to get me scheduled for the following week; she was wonderful. On 11/8/16 I came into the office wearing glasses and by 1030 I was walking out the door. I met with Dr. Moses for the first time a few minutes before the procedure. He was pleasant and had a gentle personality. He and his staff talked me through the procedure every step of the way; he even told jokes in an effort to make me feel comfortable during the procedure. The procedure was QUICK! 20mins each eye if that and I didn't feel a thing my eyes were just blurry. When I left the office my eyes were still blurry but I could still somewhat see. I went home and slept the whole day as Dr. Moses suggested. The next day I woke up and I could see! OMG it was amazing waking up and not having to reach for glasses or contacts as I have had to do for the past 16 years. I drove myself to my post-op appointment; the first time in my life I had driven without contacts. It felt great. Dr. Moses told me my vision was 20/15 the day after surgery which was better than my vision with glasses/ contacts! This experience was amazing even with the small hiccups I experienced before surgery. I would recommend LASIK with Dr. Moses to anyone! He is a true professional and a real asset to the office. He is really down to earth and his bedside manner was superb; the whole staff was. Now one week later I'm still getting used to my new life. I have the urge to take out my contacts, but then I have to remember I don't have them in lol. Thank you Dr. Moses, Lynn and Corneal Associates for my new look on life. You guys are awesome! All the staff members are warm & helpful in accommodating you throughout scheduling, preparing you for your visit & teaching you about your post-op care. LASIK is a wonderful procedure- the idea that with a 10 minute surgery your vision can be restored is mind blowing! I decided to go through with the procedure two weeks after my fiancé got his done. Dr. Perl and his nurses helped ease my nerves when it came time for the procedure (they literally held my hand!!) and guided me step by step. Before I knew it I was on my way home, seeing clearly that evening and back at work the next day! I can’t thank Dr. Perl and his staff enough for the thorough care they’ve provided.

Let me just start by saying that Dr. Perl and his staff are fantastic! I had my Lasik surgery done this past Tuesday and I am still in awe that I have 20/15 vision and am no longer dependent on glasses and contacts. They were very detail oriented through every step, from the initial consult, to the financial portion, right up and through to recovery and post op care. Dr. Perl called me later on in the evening after my surgery to check on my recovery progress, not too many Dr's do their own follow up which further ensured I had the best Dr taking care of my vision. I've had people asking me where I got my surgery done and I've referred them to Dr Perl. I was told by my eye Dr, who has taken care of my vision needs for the past 15+ years, that Dr Perl and his team were the best around and she was spot on. I would recommend that anyone who is thinking about Lasik or any type of refractive surgery to speak with Dr Perl and his team, they will be very upfront and straightforward with your options for your vision. My experience with Corneal Associates of New Jersey and its employees has been nothing short of phenomenal. It is actually quite unique and I will do my best to keep it short. It all started with my dad. He is 50 years old and a Truck Driver (CDL) and I am 24 years old and an accountant (CPA). Since I can remember, my father has been struggling with eye problems and it has not been easy for him to satisfy the CDL vision test which requires 20/40 in each eye, even with gas permeable contacts. In our country of origin, my father had eye surgery three times and they were never able to give him 20/20. As I got older, I too developed nearsightedness and astigmatism and began to wear glasses and soft contacts. It has now been 2 years since I wore glasses because contacts simply did not work for me. After learning more and more about the eye, I suggested that we take my father to get lasik. After all the tests were done on his eyes, Dr. Perl suggested that if the gas permeable contacts were not working, the next resort would be a cornea transplant. We decided to do it right away and my father had a great experience with Dr. Perl. It was completely painless and it took about 45 minutes just as we were told prior to the surgery. After a week, my father was already seeing 20/70 and before the surgery he had 20/400. We were very pleased with the service at Corneal Associates as well as the entire staff and their beautifully ran practice, that I decided to get lasik myself. The lasik process was again, quick and painless and as Lynn (Extremely nice surgical coordinator) had explained, it lasted about 15 minutes and I was on my way. The night of the surgery I felt a little discomfort, however, I went to sleep and woke up the next day around 7AM and had the best vision of my entire life. I had the surgery yesterday at 3PM and I am still in shock at how amazing the results were. I went for my post-op appointment this morning and I had 20/20 already. Dr. Perl said the procedure came out "PERFECT" and that my vision will get sharper over the next week. All together, Corneal Associates has changed not only mine, but also my father's life for the much better and I would recommend them to anyone. Stop think about it and go see them. I do not have a single complaint. Also, my father does not speak much English and they were extremely accommodating for his needs at all times. simply amazing!

I recently had my LASIK done with Dr. Perl, and I have to say it was a really great experience. I had two pre-op appointments, and on the day of surgery I entered their separate waiting room and was really pleasantly surprised. The waiting room is nice and comfortable, and is stocked with magazines, beverages, and snacks. Jacki (their surgical coordinator) made sure I was fully aware of the post op care, and she then walked me into a room where I got a 20 minute neck/back massage in order to relax -- I was totally not expecting this and it was a really nice treat that took away my nervousness before surgery. Dr. Perl did the surgery in what felt like five minutes, checked my vision and I was done! My vision is now 20/15. So so happy with my experience here. If you're interested in having LASIK surgery, this is ABSOLUTELY the place to go. I had my surgery about a month ago and met with Dr. Perl for my month-after post-op appointment last week. From the start, he showed immense care, attention to detail, and confidence. Admittedly, I was nervous about LASIK after doing some research, but my first consult with Dr. Perl completely assuaged my fears. The pre-surgery exam was thorough. Dr. Perl made sure that I had had a retina exam before coming in for measurements. He and Jacki spent a significant time explaining the procedure and giving me a tour of the facility, including the operating room. The nurse, Sybil, was very friendly and explanatory as well. The day of surgery was quick and very comfortable. The procedure took about ten minutes and was relatively pain-free. Even immediately after, I could see and feel a difference in my eyesight. It quickly improved as time passed and by the next day, my vision was 20/20. No longer worrying about glasses or contact lenses is fantastic and has been a revelation for me. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Corneal Associates and gladly recommend them to any considering LASIK.

My prescription was at a -16.00 and it had gotten to the point where I could not see 20/20 with contacts or glasses. My eyes would be constantly dry and seeing at night was impossible. My eyes are all scratched from the types of contact lenses I have to use. I didn’t qualify for lasik because of the high prescription. Then, I heard of VISIAN ICL. Sadly, my insurance wouldn’t cover the surgery after 2 years of fighting, painful phone calls, paperwork, and much much crying, so I found it worth it to pay out of pocket. Finally this year after extensive research on Lasik Eye Surgery I made a decision to call Corneal Associates and schedule the consultation. My first consultation appointment was on March 8th. We've done series of tests. Dr. Pearl and everyone at Corneal Associates are really nice. Seconds after the surgery the staff checked my eyes, made sure everything went ok. Minutes after I was ready to go home. My follow up appointment was scheduled next morning at 8am. I could not believe when I woke up that morning my vision was so crisp and clear, and the best part was, I drove to the facility for follow up appointment myself. Now, I am exactly a month after the surgery, and I still could not be more happy. My vision is 20/20. I can see long and short distance, and most importantly, I see well at night. Dr. Eli Moses is a tall friendly doctor with a very reassuring disposition. I ask many questions and he calmly explains everything I ask. He even patiently and respectfully listens to things I may say or offer as alternatives to what he is saying and recommending. He provides easy to follow explanations and he never pressures nor rushes me. I always feel 'heard', understood, and 'cared for'. When I had cataract surgery his office staff were very reassuring and took care of everything, they melted away the stress. All I had to do was show up and check in! On the day of surgery it was obvious the nursing staff and medical team at Saint Barnabas Medical Center respected and enjoyed working with Dr. Eli Moses. While I was in surgery with Dr. Eli Moses I began to get anxious about having my nose covered during the surgery and not being able to breathe. Dr. Eli Moses deftly applied his experience and skills calmly, and patiently while adjusting the surgical field until I was comfortably 'resting' for the remainder of the surgery and no longer concerned about the surgical field. Recovery was as his team had prepared me to expect. There was good, reassuring follow up. The second time when I needed to have the surgery in the other eye he remembered and prepared in advance for my anxiety about having my nose covered during surgery, and 'he handled it' so I never did get anxious the second time. Without any reservations I can recommend Dr. Eli Moses and Corneal Associates of NJ. The office is in a professional building in Fairfield NJ. When you arrive use the elevator, then turn left to go through the glass doors. Lighting seems subdued for a calming effect, or maybe sensitive eyes. The patient check-in counter has a sign-in sheet with courteous, busy, helpful staff. I have seen them talk with elderly and non traditional English speakers to help with solutions to their questions. The waiting room is clean with ample seating. Professional, informative and educational videos explain procedures done through this medical practice. Actual patients provide testimonials about how a video procedure has improved their life. When moved into the examining room for the appointment the associate checks/confirms current medications I am taking, and maybe stopped taking, then inserts eye drops to check eye pressure, current vision since the last visit, and update the charts and note all of this on the computer for Dr. Eli Moses. This patient information chart is also available for me to review at home. All of the associates in the examining room are friendly, knowledgeable, calming and good at what they need to do. One last note. Please remember the doctors at Corneal Associates of NJ are surgeons and do need at times to see patients for urgent care or emergencies. This may make appointments backup a bit, but the staff will do what they can to get waiting patients seen as quickly as possible. I am forever grateful that when I needed it, my regular eye doctor was able to secure a same day appointment with Dr. Eli Moses so he was able to save my vision. Occasionally while waiting at the office I have heard how much faith and confidence other patients have by how they speak about their results with Dr. Eli Moses. I have also seen other doctors network with him, which is good knowing his peers regard him and his work. Again, without any reservations I can recommend Dr. Eli Moses and Corneal Associates of NJ. You will be in very good and capable hands!

Experience with Theodore Perl...I had a terrible and upsetting experience with Dr. Perl whose advice I thankfully rejected. I want to share that experience and encourage everyone with Keratoconus (KC) to seek multiple opinions, and, importantly, to favor doctors who publish results and have an eye toward science and innovation rather than toward their pocketbooks. Here it is...I saw an MD in northern NJ with an opulent facility across from an executive airport. He walked in the room after the tech collected the bare minimum information and, without looking at me, said "you need a PK." He then gave me a cursory exam, which was interrupted by him yelling at his resident and stopping to dictate his notes (I guess so he could get home before 3:30). He minimized and belittled my concerns about the risk of rejection, told me DALK "would not have a good optical outcome" and bragged about how many PKs he had done, citing that only a well known MD in Indianapolis had done more. (He said I would still need sclerals after the PK, but didn't bother telling me that, I found it in my chart afterwards). He was clearly more passionate about skiing and flying than medicine. Instead I took the advice of the other 3 MDs I saw and I am wearing a real effective and comfortable lens and waiting another couple months for follow up to see if it is progressing. (I'm 35, the chances of progression in a population of 35 year old is about 50/50.) I feel like this guy just wanted to do the PK and collect the large sum that would come his way. I never went back and I am disgusted by his brusque, careless, thoughtless demeanor and approach to patients. After I told him the PK was unnecessary and off the table until other approaches were tried, he grudgingly agreed to install intacs and do epi-on CXL, but said that probably was a waste of time. I asked him if epi-on CXL is as effective and he said "what, you want me to cut off your epithelium?" I said "no, I want the procedure to work. Send me one peer reviewed article that shows that epi-on CXL is effective and give me a brief description of how you do epi-on." He sent a piece of crap periodical article that said some epi-on (not the approach he uses) would be effective. Basically, please do everything you can and get as many opinions as you can before you get a transplant. By the way, endothelial cell counts are significantly lower in patients who undergo PK and have a clear graft on followup, at between 1 and 18 months as compared to DALK. (Acar et al., 2011 [Int. J. Ophthalm.]) I asked if this was true, he scoffed at the question. This is a bad thing, since endothelial cells don't grow back and if you fall below a certain range, you develop edema and can't see. Also, Dr. Perl scoffed off my question regarding glaucoma post PK, which is the most common cause of irreversible vision loss post-PK. This occurs because there are a large number of reasons for increased Intraocular Pressure (IOP) post-op, including the steroids you will be on forever and something as beyond your control as the MDs suture technique. The incidence of post-PK Glaucoma is high, and not mentioning this and other things pretty crazy. Obviously avoid this guy There are awesome KC specialists in this area. This guy is behind the curve in so many ways

If you are going for Lasik, it's totally worth it. Vision insurance doesn't cover Lasik, they only give a small discount.. but if you have the option of selecting a flexible savings account, you can pay with that! I used my flexible spending and paid the other half with cash. The process was 5 mins or less on each eye.. Next day, follow up, drove myself and can see perfectly! You don't feel pain, you only feel pressure..dont overthink the process.. Stay calm! Bonus, they give you a little massage, if you want, to help calm you before the process! I called last year since my flexible savings didn't kick in till 2019 and Jackie was very awesome, she kept in contact and I was able to make my appointment and have my surgery as soon as possible!! I specifically waited for a full month before giving a review to see what my healing was going to be like. The procedure itself was as described: quick, painless, just uncomfortable. On post-op day one, I did not see 20/20, but was indeed able to drive myself to the appointment and go to work thereafter. My eyes were very dry after the surgery and I had to use lubricating drops obsessively. Dryness made my vision blurry, which was worrisome at times, and for a long time it felt like I had a foreign object in my eyes. Then the allergy season started adding itchiness to my eye lids and redness to the eyes. BUT at the one month mark it was like magic. The dryness subsided significantly; itchiness went away; the foreign body sensation in the eyes disappeared; and my vision improved drastically. I had my 5 week follow up today and I see 20/15 (i.e. better than with glasses). The take-away: people heal differently. Some report excellent vision the next day; for others it takes some time. Be patient with yourself and with your body, give it a chance to heal before becoming alarmed. As to the people working at the Corneal Associates, I have to agree with the rest of the reviewers: exceptionally supportive and caring atmosphere. Feels like people are excited to be working there, which says a lot about the practice, the quality of care they deliver, and the bosses. I primarily dealt with Angelina, Jacqueline, Ann Marie, and, of course, Dr. Perl. They all have very different personalities, but every one of them is very responsive, meticulous with details, and knowledgeable. Had Lasik last week and extremely happy with the results. Procedure was quick and I was able to see clearly that same night. The doctor and the staff are very knowledgeable and confident and help to diffuse any nervousness you have before the procedure. now i dont have to worry about contacts and glasses again. Can I just start by saying that Dr. Perl and his staff are fantastic and beyond amazing in every way imaginable! I had my Lasik surgery done this Tuesday and I am still in awe that I have 20/15 vision and no longer dependent on glasses and contacts- this has been my everyday situation since 2004! They were very detail oriented through every step, from the initial consult, to the financial portion (Ms. Jackie is the most down to earth and caring person who went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything), right up and through to recovery and post op care which Ms. Ann was very informative and explained the the post op drops will cause some crusting but can be cleaned away with a q-tip and warm water. Dr. Perl called me later on in the evening after my surgery to check on my recovery progress, not too many Dr's do their own follow up which further ensured I had the best Dr taking care of my vision, and further explained what I may experience was completely normal i.e. mild tearing, foreign body sensation and light sensitivity. Many people are asking me where I got my surgery done and I've referred them to Dr Perl. I was actually told by my eye Dr. Michelle Williams in Rahway, NJ, who has taken care of my vision needs for the past 2-3 years, that Dr Perl and his team were the best around and she was spot on. I would recommend that anyone who is thinking about Lasik or any type of refractive surgery to speak with Dr Perl and his team, they will be very upfront and straightforward with your options for your vision. I had LASIK eye surgery almost three weeks ago with Dr. Perl. He did an excellent job. Even though I was scared and nervous, I am very glad I got it done. I've been wearing glasses since I was 12 years old and have been ready for years to get rid of them. It's amazing how clearly you see everything. Dr. Perl and everyone on his staff are very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend him if you are considering LASIK.

Stop reading reviews and go to Corneal Associates of New Jersey. You have decided to get corrective eye surgery and are now looking for the best surgery center to get your procedure done..... I've done the research for you. I've visited several corrective eye surgery centers throughout New Jersey and Corneal Associates is the best. I traveled almost 2 hours (about 80 miles) for my appointments and procedure at Corneal Associates, passing dozens of reputable corrective surgery centers. It was worth the time and travel. Other corrective surgery centers that I visited did not compare to Corneal Associates. Dr. Perl and his team are professional and welcoming. Everyone in that office is knowledgeable and personable. Dr. Perl was recommended to me by a couple family members, but I still did my research. Dr. Perl's resume backs up his reputation. Dr. Perl teaches and certifies other surgeons. This is the place to get your corrective eye surgery procedure completed. Corneal Associates was very accommodating. I made last minute decision to get my corrective eye surgery completed before a family vacation drive to Florida, rather than waiting until after I returned. Corneal Associates staff made it happen, fitting me in with no issues. Corneal Associates took my medical flex-pay that I arranged through my work and set me up to reasonably finance the rest, interest free. You may find other centers that are cheaper, or that initially claim to be cheaper, but you will soon find out that they are sub-standard. Some places you never get to see where they perform the procedures, some places you never get to talk with your surgeon, some places just seem like they would rather generate a lot of volume(customers) and you feel like your just a number. You only have one shot at this. Go with the best, Corneal Associates of New Jersey.

LASIK procedure was successful, but the office is always overbooked and need to wait an hour past the appointment time. Very disappointing, especially when Dr. Perl only has Monday / Thursday availability and I can’t afford to take too much time off work. Unprofessional to say the least.
