Absolutely wonderful doctors and staff at New Eyes! Had cataract surgery on my left eye and after one week post-op I have 20/20 vision. No problems, no pain, no hassle! Dr. Pizio is a lovely person and very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Pizio and New Eyes! I can’t thank Dr. Pizio and her staff enough for the success of my recent bi-lateral cataract removal. Everything went splendidly. My vision is now 20/20 both near and distant which is better than it has been in a long time. I also had a floater in one eye that had pestered for years and it is also gone. The staff in both the New Eyes Clinic and at the Alta-Rose Surgery Center were both friendly and professional. They were top of the line. I also appreciated the sense of humor demonstrated by some these caring folks which helped alleviate any apprehension I may have had going into the surgical process. I could tell by the full waiting rooms in both the Eye Clinic and the Surgery Center that Dr. Pizio does not really need any additional business. Michelle was my prep nurse and we had a wonderful conversation before I went to surgery. She was very kind and compassionate, also a lot of fun. When one thinks of having eye surgery, one doesn't expect it to be the pleasant experience offered at Alta Rose Surgical Center. I even received a call the next day to check on my progress. I was sent to Dr Smart on an emergent basis. I was self treating myself for what I thought was allergies and I saw my regular eye doctor. He contacted New Eyes immediately and I saw Dr Smart. Dr Smart was kind, caring and most importantly at that moment very reassuring. When tested, I had no vision in my right eye due to a hole in my cornea. He started me in numerous meds and I was to return the next day. The entire staff at New Eyes are professional and caring. I have felt so comforted every step to recovery. I cannot stress enough what an awesome path my recovery has been under the care of Dr Smart at New Eyes. They also have numerous locations so it is easy to find an office close to Las Vegas residents.

I have been fortunate to find some really excellent doctors since moving to Las Vegas including my General Physician. Yet I have never written a testimonial for any doctor until this one for Dr. Helga Pizio, Ophthalmologist. My entire experience with New Eyes was very impressive. All of the staff of New Eyes was very upbeat and friendly and each appeared to be an experienced professional in their area of responsibility --- from the receptionist to the appointment person. The impression was given throughout the office that each employee really enjoyed working at New Eyes which is not often found in many businesses. Dr. Pizio has an excellent way of communicating with her patients. Her friendly, casual manner puts you immediately at ease and she does an exceptional job of explaining your condition and your options for resolution, if any. Dr. Pizio has her own surgery center whose staff was just as friendly and professional as her office staff. My cataract surgery was painless, over in minutes, and with no after surgery pain whatsoever. Dr. Pizio even personally called me subsequent to the surgery to ensure I was doing well. First of all, one major criterion my husband and I use to judge a doctor is by the staff's attitude and service orientation. After all, we spend most of our time with the staff. This was my husband's first visit with Dr Helga Pizio, based on my recommendation. These are his comments: I, the husband, have no eye issues, but do yearly checkups. However, I wanted an Ophthalmologist. The review by Robert Beenken said it all eloquently. Adding to his comments, my wife and I agree that Dr. Pizio has one of the most friendly, professional, caring and down right pleasant personalities of any doctor we have met. Now about the staff: Erica with her warm welcome, to Sandy and Adiba with their courteous and caring manner to Ana, who says “see you next year” with enjoyable sincerity. These we a few members of Dr. Pizio’s team. I found it interesting being in an Eye Doctor’s Office and noticing all the beautiful smiles. Suffice it to say, they care about my Eyes with a smile! Fabulous staff, terrible results! Been suffering from debilitating, dangerous glare. Wanted the surgery done because I was having trouble driving at night. Now, glare is life-threatening when driving at night and reading anything any further away than 6 feet is impossible! I hope this can be corrected otherwise I may seek legal action. So glad others have had much better results!

Dr. Pizio is great. I had Ptosis in one eye that was affecting my vision. The surgery was virtually painless and I felt well enough to work after 3 days. There were no side effects and my vision improved (tested 10 days after surgery) after the procedure. She is a fabulous doctor.

Knowing I needed cataract surgery and being relatively new to Las Vegas, I asked a friend who knows a scrub nurse that works with many different eye doctors, who SHE would use if it were her or a member of her family who needed this procedure. Without hesitation she said Dr. Pizio. So I went to see her. I have never been so impressed with a doctor in my life. She is down-to-earth, personable and exceptionally competent. She answered every question, allayed every fear and her friendly and efficient staff took care of everything. The trip to the surgery center went just as efficiently. The procedure took five minutes and was totally painless. I can see the bright colors of the world again and couldn't be happier!

When I had Dr. Pizio examine my eyes, I really felt I had someone that was concerned for the health of my eyes. Her office has some of the highest tech equipment that was able to identify my problem, which had the potential to be very serious. Turns out my problem was relatively minor and didn't require surgery, and I'm glad I wasn't pushed into some procedure I didn't need. As far as I'm concerned, NewEyes staff are the only ones that will take care of my eyes.

DON'T BELIEVE OTHER REVIEWS MOST WRITTEN BY FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF THE PRACTICE. Called THREE TIMES to verify my insurance and told them EVERY TIME MORE THAN ONCE that I did not think my insurance would cover the visit I was told OVER AND OVER that it would be ok. I 100% made sure to tell the to PLEASE call insurance company SEVERAL TIMES EVERY PHONE CALL AND when I went in after having a serious eye issue that I waited weeks for I was not covered, had to take the day off work, and was treated RUDELY by the staff who also did not even know how to tell me how to get to their location. They were clueless in giving a good description where in relation they were to other business complexes and knowing north, south, west and east. Not one person in the office could give even mediocre directions. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF !!!!!!!

The nurses that took care of me before and after the surgery were great. I joked with a few of them and they figured I was a "naughty" girl, but they still took great care of me. I originally selected Dr. Pizio for cataract surgery because of the favorable reviews on several web sites. I had a high need for information about the cataract procedure. I also had a low tolerance for a physician trying to sell me on the procedure. I wanted to make the decision to proceed, based on all the information that I could get obtain. I contacted three doctors requesting information. Of the three, Dr. Pizio was the most accomodating, provided me the most information, and left it with me whether to take the next step to have the operation. I chose Dr. Pizio. The operation was successful. I can now see with 20/20 vision whereas before, my vision had deteriorated significantly. Secondly, I can now see very well in the dark. Before the operation, I was afraid to drive at night. I can now drive at night, permitting me to take trips previously impossible. In addition, I no longer see "halos" around lights at night. You will find that Dr. Pizio is very compassionate, knowledgeable, and gives you the feeling that she is primarily interested in what is best for you.

The experience and the outcome were very much more pleasant than I had expected. All fears melted as the well organized and warm, caring staff directed me through the preparation. Actual operating time was amazingly brief in Dr. Pizio's skilled hands. The outcome has been wonderful, making me wish I had not put this operation off for so long. It is wonderful to see again after losing sight to the cataracts. Thank you to Dr. Pizio and her wonderful supporting staff. I now have 20/20 far vision and only need reading glasses. I would definitely recommend overcoming hesitations by talking with Dr. Pizio and knowing that the supporting staff is warmly efficient. There is no need to put off regaining your sight.

However, my recent experience with Dr. Helga Pizio (New Eyes) and her staff was so impressive that I felt obligated to provide a testimonial. The purposes of this review are twofold; the first is to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent care provided to me and the second is to provide information to other people who might be in need of cataract surgery. Recently, I learned that I would need cataract surgery on both eyes. My first surgery was performed on 07/24/2013 and the second one on 07/31/2013. The procedure was quick, painless and resulted in returning my vision in both eyes to 20/20. The care I received before, during and after the surgery was truly exceptional. Dr. Helga Pizio is an extremely talented Ophthalmologist and surgeon. She explained everything in detail, as well as, the various options that were available. Every member of the staff that I dealt with was courteous, professional and appeared to enjoy working at New Eyes. I loved the caring treatment I had and Dr. Pizio was so genuine in her attention to my questions with complete answers and real interest in what I was going through with the added problems of glaucoma and severely dry eyes besides needing cats removed. Dr. Stafeeva has been my doctor for two years now. She is an excellent doctor in her specialty as a corneal specialist. Dr Pizio is absolutely fantastic! The staff at the surgery center and the Pecos Road office are also incredible! Not only warm and friendly, but also extremely knowledgeable! She diagnosed my cataracts in 2013, but I didn't return for a checkup until 2016. I was walking around in a halo filled, increasingly darker environment until my surgeries (on both eyes) in June. When I began to 'see the light' I saw how cluttered my life had also become and began a clean-up frenzy which has since waned, but continued. I had been struggling with my eyes for quite some time. My eyes were teary, red and painful. I visited two different eye doctors in town who were not helpful at all. I am so thankful to my neighbor John W. who refereed me to Dr Helga Pizio. She took care of my viral infection and diagnosed me with glaucoma. I couldn't believe that my other doctors did not catch this condition for years. Dr Pizio performed SLT laser procedure on both of my eyes and I am now doing great. I feel am in really good hands.
