I've been unknowingly suffering from severe dry eye for some time now. It's effected my vision greatly through the blurring, scratching and scarring of my cornea/eye surface that it seemed impossible to correct it, even through lenses. I was very impressed with Eye Care Associate from the very start, even before my visit. Beginning with the information packet I received in the mail. It contained information explaining what my options were and the differences between them. It did so in plain english and was very easy to understand. That was good because I learned that the way they fix my problem was totally different from how I thought they were going to fix it. I was already apprehensive about what was wrong with my eye. It came on rather suddenly, that scared me. When I finally got to the appointment I was very impressed with the facility and the staff. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable about what they do. They answered all of my questions, and did an excellent job of explaining what was going to happen. They really had thier act together, and I got the impression that not only did they know thier jobs, they enjoy thier jobs and thier working environment. It's one thing to have knowledge and skills but if you enjoy your work everybody benefits. I highly recommend them to anybody facing complicated vision issues.

I am very very glad to have found Dr. Hiss & his wonderful entire team. I was new in town, needed cataract surgery & didn't know who to see. Unfortunately I previously had a very bad experience with another Reno, NV cataract surgeon who I felt left me to fend for myself after a bad outcome (at my first postop visit the OD examined my eye and his first words were "Oh S _ _ _ !" (You can imagine the stress that created for me.) There were other things that went wrong too. I felt abandoned so I researched and found a physician/professor at Stanford in California for a second opinion, and it was there that I was told of Dr. Hiss 's excellent reputation and his work in Reno, NV. So I followed up with Dr. Hiss who performed corrective surgery and I have been very happy with all aspects of the care I received from him and the many find members of his team. I would highly recommend him and all of the members of his team with whom I had contact.

They were all friendly, informative, and patient with all of my questions. I was referred to Dr. Hiss by my eye doctor - he said that he was the best! I walked away feeling very comfortable with my impending surgery. Went through a 6 month treatment plan with Dr. Warren Whitley and afterwards he failed to write the proper explanation to get the medication needed with the insurance company. Never phoned me to tell me, or prescribe an alternate medication. Unprofessional, ineffective and inefficient business. They believe activity produces achievement.

I have been a patient at Eye Care since the 1990's. I had been examined for a routine checkup and it was discovered that my pressures were very high; 34 in both eyes. Diagnosis was glaucoma. So since then I have been putting drops in both eyes. My pressures are steady @ 15!. In December I will have cataracts removed in both eyes. Curtis Manning, MD is my doctor . I receive excellent care. I highly recommend Eye Care for all of your ophthalmology needs. Service by the whole staff is superb.

I was referred Dr.John Sutton, my regular eye Dr. It was time to have cataract removal. I was told I could get lenses that would correct my nearsited condition so I could see without glasses. The staff there was prompt and helpful with the steps..especially the out of pocket costs of the proceedure. The Ist, 2nd, and third post op tests were good. On Ist post op I was better than 20-20 on the left. Same on the right.Dr. Manning emphasized that I would get the best sight on the right if I went with a better grade of lens-Toric- Which was entirely worthwhile. After a lifetime of wearing corrective lenses I use reading glasses off shelf at the pharmacy. My night vision has improved a lot. At this point I am 2.5 mos. from the surgery and still improving. I am completely satisfied with the service and support from Eye Care Associates of Nevada.
