REVIEWS OF Dr. Irene Voo, MD IN Nevada

I feel lucky and blessed to have been referred to Dr. Voo. On a routine eye exam for new glasses, my optometrist found some holes in my eyes. I was absolutely freaked out, but she referred me to Dr. Voo, who has been simply amazing. Turns out that I suffer from lattice degeneration and I've had to have my holes laser sealed in one eye, and I'm going back next week for the other. Her office is peaceful and her staff is always kind. Dr. Voo cares about her patients, takes the time to explain anything and everything, and is super quick and efficient. She even took the time to personally come out and give my mother a recommendation for her cataract care. Dr. Voo goes above and beyond. I trust her completely and know that I am in good hands. I am greatly appreciative.

They are always so great here. Feel like they actually care.

The best service for my eyes I ever received. I admit when I went in I was very worried. I had never let anyone get close to my eyes. I always had a problem with anything coming close to my eyes. I could never even wear contacts and when they came close to my eyes I would blink profusely. I always had fear of anything coming close to my eyes. But Ms. Irene Voo is the best and the procedure that was done with a needle was painless and the staff is so nice friendly and calming when I go there are no worries, it always a pleasure and that's Everytime I went, and I'm sure for future, their the best and I mean the best, thank you all.

She is knowledgeable and friendly. Professional and courteous. The best eye doctor I've ever seen in Las Vegas!

I originally saw Dr. Voo when she worked at another practice. Unknowingly, I had detached retinas in both eyes and had to get surgery on the spot. It was an extremely stressful situation and Dr. Voo was extremely comforting. I had to get a great deal of laser treatment done on both eyes that day and everything has held up great the past 5 years. I've seen other retina specialists since and no one compares to Dr. Voo. I highly recommend her!

Sure the staff is cordial, maybe even quite pleasant at times but that's pointless and useless information when taking into regard the reason for patients visiting this woman. Reason I say woman and not Doctor is because she is by far and in no way deserving of such a respectable designation. Before anybody turns this into sexist commentary, it has nothing to do with that, as I personally believe some of medicines greatests minds have been female. This is purely about ability to make use of the knowledge she claims to have, her capacity to comprehend any of the vast amounts of information she was supposedly educated with, and most importantly her proficiency, if any, at implementing any of that in a manner that has even the slightest benefit to any patient who should be so unfortunate as to be a patient of this woman. Not doctor. I just wish I would've known this before I so blindly trusted the referral but ultimately wasted my mother's time and and money by taking her to see this woman. I am appalled. Truly opprobrium to the entire field of ophthalmology.

Wow...in just reading the comment from "Marc I"...my thoughts include here is a person that sounds like a disrespectful brat trying to throw a medical professional under the bus just to make his insecure ego feel better. I have an appointment with this Dr. Irene Voo soon, and will rate her later without allowing "marc i" to influence my decision.

Rachel Irvine

I am really disappointed in the level of service I received from Dr. Voo's office. The staff member who called to set my appointment failed to inform me my eyes would need to be dilated (meaning I would need a ride home and would not be able to work for several hours) so after taking time off from work to go the appointment, I was told I would need to reschedule for another time when I could be dilated. The office processed a refund of my office visit fee and other than being inconvenienced, I wasn't out any money. 3 days later they call to say they changed their mind about processing the refund because I was assessed by the tech (?) and I should have known that I would need to have my eyes dilated so it is my fault. I hope collecting that $30 co-pay is worth losing a customer. So disappointing...

Wendy Winden

The doctor is awesome! But not ok with being able to pay for my co-pay in two days. Like being billed. Every office can bill you but not this one. I told them I get paid literally in two days and the girl goes "Nah...we have 2 bill you at time of visit". At the same time everyone can hear the conversation in the office then have the other two woman staff members stare at you. WOW! How uncomfortable.

Before my mothers appointment she had to pay a co-pay, when the transaction was complete the Front Desk employee wanted a signature. This particular employees name is Starsy, we may have the incorrect spelling. Anyways, Starsy told my mother to sign the receipt, my mother is blind in one eye and hard of seeing on the other, she asked Starsy to put her finger when she was supposed to sign and Starsy with an attitude told her it was on the bottom. My mom felt completely helpless and felt shame as she was struggling to find the line to sign her name. The next time my mother had a problem with this office is when she was booked for a detached retina. The day before the surgery, they told my mother it would be $1800.00, of course she didn’t have it in hand and needed time for us to come up with the payment. After we took a day to figure things out my father was going to borrow money from his 401k, we would need at least a week to gather the finances. When my mother called to reschedule the surgery Starsy answered again and was very rude! She made comments to my mom, saying, “it doesn’t sound like you want the surgery, so Dr. Voo will need to find another patient to fill your space!” My mother then said, “well why are you talking to me this way, why does Dr. Voo not care to help me?” She asked to speak to Dr. Voo and Starsy said Dr. Voo doesn’t talk to her patients, she will have a tech or somebody else call you” so my mother began to worry and started to feel like she was being attacked, she said if Dr. Voo didn’t care to help and this office didn’t care, then may be she should see another Dr, Starsy then persisted to give more attitude and said, “oh, so are you telling me you want a second opinion? I’ll let add. Boo know!” My mom tried to talk reason and decided she wasn’t going to talk to her anymore and went to see another Dr. It hurts to know my mother was treated this way, it hurts to know Dr. Voo is a good doctor and my mother deserves to have the best but it was ruined all by a front desk aide. Can anyone else tell me their experience with Starsy? She should be reported, where can I go? What can be done? I won’t let my disabled mother get treated this way!

I was referred to Dr Voo by my eye doctor after finding a tear in my retina. I was able to obtain an appointment in short order and was examined by Dr Voo. My experience with Dr Voo and her staff was nothing short of outstanding. Her staff was very friendly, competent, and accommodating and my wait time in the office was less than 10 minutes. Dr Voo performed laser surgery on my retina and saved the vision in my eye for which I am very thankful. I have been treated by many medical professionals in my life but Dr Voo is the most personable and patient-friendly doctor I have ever encountered. She puts the patient at ease, explains everything in terms you can easily understand, and most importantly - she listens to you and your concerns. Her "bedside manner" should be the standard taught in medical school because it is outstanding. I would highly recommend Dr Voo to anyone who is encountering eye problems. You will be very satisfied with the service you receive from her and her staff.

I don't normally give reviews but I saw a number of negative reviews for Dr. Voo and had to respond. Dr. Voo operated on me twice in the last year and I think she is the best eye surgeon I have seen in the last 21 years and 7 plus operations. She is kind, caring and fixed my problem. H.C. Crow, PhD
