My LASIK surgery went flawlessly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering LASIK. The staff was awesome from the initial free consultation to the followup after the surgery. They take the time to explain the procedure and run all the tests needed to determine if you are a viable candidate. Prior to the surgery, they check your eyes again twice, to make sure everything was ready. They made me feel very comfortable with the process. One of the best decisions I ever made. I would definitely recommend it, especially to the younger people. The surgery pays for itself in the long run. A special thanks to Dr. JoAnna Liu who performed the initial consultation. She was incredible in her explanation of the process, as well as why I would be a good candidate for the surgery. She made me feel very comfortable about my decision. I had an eye examine by this place never told the amount it would cost to have the test done. If I had I would have never did the test by the way everything was fine. The only thing i am so hurt by is the balance they claim my Insurance did not pay. The total came out to be almost more than a one thousand dollars so look out for being overcharged for test. The statement i got was for what my insurance company paid and me thinking my insurance company had paid the full amount out of my HRA i just put this statement with the rest of my papers for tax purposes. Now this company have turn over the bill to a collection agency. If I had know what the total cost for an eye examine was going to be i would never have gone there. If you ever go there make sure they check with your insurance company and you on how much you can pay. This company is very much a rip off

On November 30, 2017 I had my first laser cataract surgery done on my right eye, followed by the left on December 8, 2017 both performed by Dr. Reid Turner. I am not sure how I can express in words how amazing he and the Omaha Eye and Laser staff are! It is amazing how much clearer everything is. I have had others tell me that but until this is done, you do not realize it! I am so pleased with the outcome and my experiences through the entire process have been amazing!! Dr. Turner was so comforting during the surgery and even made surgery fun, Christmas music and all!

Wow where do I start. I booked the consultation online, their website was a breeze to navigate. Once I entered in my appointment request, I was contacted the same day confirming my time. Upon arrival to my consultation, the staff were just wonderful. information on price and care were explained to me clearly. I ended up booking my Lasik 3 weeks later. Throughout the entire process I was anxious, the staff has always accurately and promptly answered all of my questions and always reassured. The day of surgery was stressful, but everything went as expected and the procedure was easier than I anticipated. I can see clearly now thanks to OEI. If you're thinking about it, just book your consultation, it's free. Edit: I was involved in a hit and run the day after my surgery, thanks to OEI, I was able to see their license plate number and provide it to the authorities.

Omaha Eye and LASIK did a great job giving me 20/15 vision. They usually have a promotion going on but they don't advertise it. When I went, they took $500 off for each eye costing me only $3,550 instead of $4,550. They tell you the final price upfront with no hidden charges unlike other places that advertise cheaper rates. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get LASIK.

-Great Service -Friendly Staffs My main experience here was more on the eye exam side. My Mother suddenly developed severe eye allergic reaction a few years ago and we went to multiple Ophthalmologist swith little result. When we visited this place, her symptoms greatly improved and has became tolerable without constants eye visits. She previously visited this place for Lasik, but after her allergic reaction, the Doctors advised her to not get Lasik since she has severe dry eyes. I don't know what other eye place is like, but I greatly appreciated the fact that they thought about her overall being versus letting her get Lasik so they can get the money. In the end, she got cataract surgeries and have not had any visual complications since. Since I was translating for my Mother, I was able to experienced more of the backroom atmosphere and it was a lot more calming than I imagined. All of the staffs were extremely nice and try to calm my Mother even with the language barrier. Overall, a great place to visit for more than just Lasik!

My LASIK experience with Omaha Eye and Laser Institute was a complete nightmare. I am 27 years old and had the procedure done November 16th, 2018. First off, I was the last appointment of the day, which I would not recommend. They were running a bit behind and the office kind of looked like it was shutting down for the night, which made me feel like my surgery was probably going to be rushed. You are given a 5 mg Valium about twenty minutes before the procedure. If you have general anxiety disorder or experience panic attacks, it is in your best interest to visit your primary care physician before hand and get a prescription for Xanax. I am 5’1” and 95 lbs. I did not feel the Valium before or even after the surgery, which caused me to have an actual panic attack during the procedure. It was one of the most terrifying things I have ever experienced (but strangely enough, this isn’t even the worst part of this story). The one and only person who sat with me after, asked me questions, and made sure I was ok was a young nurse with dark hair and glasses. To this day, she is the only person who has truly shown me compassion at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute. I know everyone is different but the healing time for me was especially painful. I was out of work for two full weeks. I developed black floaters in both eyes, which to this day, are still there. But the worst thing that happened was developing severely dry eyes. After two weeks, my vision was still fuzzy and I couldn’t see. Plugs were put in my eyes; one fell out a few weeks later and caused a serious sinus infection where half of my face swelled up. Of course this happened during the weekend so Omaha Eye and Laser Institute wasn’t able to help me and I had to spend more of my money – this time at the ER. At my next appointment at the Omaha Eye and Laser Institute, I was put on a one month eye drop medication called Xiidra and was told my insurance would most likely cover it. Well, it didn’t and I had to pay $500. I was told these eye drops would hurt at first. Hurt is an understatement. My eyes felt like they were on fire while shards of glass were being ripped through them simultaneously and the pain never got any better. During my next appointment I mentioned how bad the drops hurt and burn but JoAnna Liu, the OD I was seeing at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute disregarded my concerns. I was given another prescription for one month of Xiidra, which again, was $500 out of my own pocket. When I returned for my follow up, Johanna Liu was out of the office and I was assigned a fill in doctor. Once again, I expressed my complaints and concerns to this new doctor who determined I was definitely allergic to the Xiidra eye drops. I was then prescribed a steroid topical to fix the damage the eye drops had done to the skin around my eyes. My insurance also did not cover this, but I definitely needed it so I had to pay $500 yet again. Oh, I also mention that my vision is still blurry at this point. At this appointment and the one before I had mentioned that my headaches at night were getting pretty bad but, as usual, my comments and complaints were dismissed with no concern. My last and final appointment with Omaha Eye and Laser Institute was April 30, 2019, in which I was supposed to discuss the “enhancement” LASIK surgery. I can definitely say I do not have the confidence in Omaha Eye and Laser Institute to perform another surgery on me. When I expressed this, Johanna Liu again dismissed my concerns and continued the appointment with a very condescending tone. She made me feel very badly as if it were my fault that the surgery didn’t work. I now wear glasses. I understand that LASIK does not work on everyone, but I did not appreciate the way I was treated at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute. They genuinely do not care about you, they just want your money and I hope I can maybe prevent someone from experiencing something awful with this company like I did.

I was skeptical, excited, anxious and above all else...nervous / terrified of having LASIK. The staff was super nice and polite. The doctors answered all my questions, to which I had a lot. They did a great job at explaining what was going to happen before the procedure. Then during the procedure, the doctor was very verbal with what he was doing and or what the next step was. I’ve highly and will highly recommend Omaha Eye and Laser Institute for LASIK to anyone. The cost of the procedure is more than worth it in my opinion.

They were quick and effecient! I was extremely nervous and they took the time to help me feel more comfortable. The procedure was super quick and done with before I knew it. I did have pain and burning after and they gave me some drops to help. From what I've read, the amount of discomfort I had after is unusual but they didn't make me feel like a wimp. They repeatedly went over how to use the drops so there was no misunderstanding. I definitely recommend them for Lasik, in fact I told my husband to get his eyes done.

I was SO nervous about getting LASIK (you know, because they are my eyes) but I am happy - ecstatic really-- that I finally did it. For the first time in 23 years I can actually see things that are more than 5inches from my face - in fact, I have 20/15 vision now!!! I'm glad I chose to do LASIK at Omaha Eye & Laser vs the other place I went for a consultation, which had a med spa vibe and not so much a professional eye clinic. I chose this place for a few reasons, 1. I felt comfortable here - from the moment I walked in, 2. Mike, my tech, explained everything to me in detail giving me the 'why' instead of just what each piece of equipment does, 3. Their patient education is top notch (the other place I went asked if I had any questions but without knowing too much about the process I didn't even know what questions I had) and 4. The staff at Omaha Eye and Laser just seem like a well oiled machine -- they have tons of experience, know what they are doing and were forthright/transparent which gave me 100% confidence in them. The process is fast but I didn't feel like I was being rushed through anything, all of their experience makes them supremely efficient. If you are on the fence about choosing a place for LASIK, take my word for it -- this place is wonderful.

Up until today I would have given this place 4 stars. The medical care is very good even if you have to wait a long time to be seen. Then this happened: My mom has been a patient for several years. Last July she had to go into a nursing home. September 2018 she had an appointment and went unacompanied in a wheel chair van. No one said a word. Today 3-29-19 she arrived and was sent home without being examined. Why? She arrived by wheel chair van without an aide. They've changed their rules or they were never enforced before - I don't know which and neither did the nurse that talked to me. I couldn't get there so they sent her home and they couldn't figure out why I was mad. Let's make it clear, you can make any rules you feel you need to but you have to make the patient and nursing faciity aware BEFORE they get there not after. My frail 85 year old mother made a trip across town for nothing. The nurse said just tell them you need an aide sent with her. She's a medicaid patient and they don't pay for aides to travel with her. She would have to private pay to the tune of $25 an hour for an aide if a family member isn't available. Traveling there and back and having the exam would be minimum 2.5 hours. Medicaid allows her to keep $40 a month from her soc sec and pension. Also, a wheel chair van round trip is $80 that the nursing home spent for nothing. The nurse asked me to reschedule. I told her my mom would not ever be coming back. She couldn't figure out why I was mad. The nursing home didn't know about this rule, I didn't know about this rule. My mother didn't have anything to do with making the appointment yet she's the one they punished for it. In fact, Omaha Eye and Laser never informed the nursing home that they were returning my mother unseen by their doctor and why. The nursing home didn't hear about it until I called and told them what was going on. So here's my rule Omaha Eye and Laser: I do not let anyone treat my mom like an inconveniently placed piece of furniture. She's a human being. Never again. Update: When I was arranging to get her records sent to a new doctor they told me I could only get the last 2 visits UNLESS I paid 50 cents a page to get the others. She's been going there for years so her records are going to be pretty long. So her old scans won't be sent to the new doctor. They took no responsibility for anything that happened, royally upset my mother, wasted $80 of the nursing home's money, and now they want more money. No apology. I used to think this place was classy. Judge for yourself. 4-2-19 Although I do appreciate Omaha Eye and Laser's apology I would just like to point out that as I am disabled and my mother's only relative in this area it would be impossible for me to be at every appointment. She does not qualify for a free escort, as she is on medicaid and cannot afford the afford the extra $50 to $75 to hire one. Although your intention is to provide better medical care, your policy actually denies her access to any medical care at your clinic. I fail to see how that provides her better care. Thank goodness there are so many other Doctor's offices whose policies do not block her access.

I and my wife went to this place, idk we r Asian or what, they just not nice to us, we pay too much money to here, they do a little bit surgery for my wife, and Dr liu hurt her, he just rude to her, maybe we don't have insurance or what? But we pay enough money for what they ask for. Blood came down her face, she just hurt so bad, in my country Doctor is better than him. He just not a doctor. Never go back, and her eye still hurt. After the surgery done, one of the nurse there said to me: if something goes wrong come back here, are u kidding me. Something wrong. So disappointed.

I had considered Lasik for a long time, but never thought I would actually go through with the procedure...I thought my nerves would get the best of me. I was very hesitant to get the Lasik surgery because I was worried that my vision wouldn't be corrected to 20/20 or it would make my eyes worst. The surgery was painless and I could see pretty well the next day. I went from a perception of -6.00 (not even able to make out the E at the top of the chart) to 20/15 vison. I highly recommend their lasik surgery. The staff is great. They are very nice and helpful.

What a terrible experience for my initial surgery consult. Was asked to be in at 2:15 for my 2:30 appointment to take care of paperwork. All paperwork was mailed to me ahead of time and was asked that I fill it out prior to coming in so there was no point to be there early. An hour after my scheduled appointment time I was taken back to a room to continue to wait for the doctor. He spent less than 5 minutes with me and did no education of what was upcoming. 5 minutes on Google was more informative than my entire visit with this office. Due to my own scheduling conflicts I scheduled my surgery for more than two months out. I truly hope my surgery goes better than today did. I was shocked when I asked if they could give me an estimate of what this surgery would cost and they told me that they could not until right before my surgery date. If this place did not have such a good rating over all I would be canceling and finding a new place for surgery after my afternoon of disappointment. I'll wait for my appointment confirmation call in two months and see if they remember to even tell me where I go for the surgery and how to get the prescription eye drops I am supposed to start using days before surgery.

I have surgery on 3/29/19 my consultation went good. All of the staff was professional and I didn't hardly wait that long to be seen. I'm extremely nervous about what my results will be. I hope they are as reassuring as they are professional. Most of the reviews I've seen had great Lasik results. I will be asking for more details about my pre-exam results and what exactly makes me a good candidate. Was my fault for not asking before. I do not blame OELI at all for this. Op and post-Op Review: I cannot say enough about OELI. Dr. Soa Liu and the rest of the staff have literally blessed me with perfect vision. 20/20 with ZERO side effects the very next day and expected to get better. If you were told that you would be a poor candidate, do not be upset. Believe me they are really saving you a lifetime of vision complications. For those concerned about pain...i felt absolutely 0 pain. Had Dr. Soa Liu not been speaking through the procedure because of me feeling nothing I wouldn't have even known what was being done. Follow the drop procedure after operation to the T. The recovery has a significant impact on vision results. All of my questions were answered, everything was done quickly, although I believe you should have made extra time anyway. Highly recommend OELI for anyone considering lasik. They will keep your safety and interests first and that is rare anymore. Be sure to ask for Dr. Soa Liu he is the best. I had my LASIK procedure done by Dr. James Liu and it was quick and painless! Having an eyelash in your eye or even getting your eye pressure checked is worse than this whole procedure. Dr. Liu was very kind and has quite a soothing voice that helped me feel at ease before the procedure. Michelle Comer, the optician, and Dr. Allison, tended to me during my consultation appointment and were both very amiable and took the time to personalize my visit. They also did a good job of keeping me up to date with waiting durations and what my appointment would consist of. The only downside was my pre-operative appointment. The staff (specifically opticians, optometrist) were different than at my consult and I’m not sure if it had something to do with my pre-op appointment being at the end of the day (4:15 P.M.)or...??? Anyway, on the opticians end, I didn’t receive an explanation of what the appointment consisted of nor the duration of the appointment. After a while I realized I was having another eye exam or just having measurements verified from my consult appointment? When the optician was finished he told me the optometrist would be in shortly... but I seem to have waited over 45 minutes if not longer. Within that time frame I was wondering if I was forgotten? Or if I should open the door and ask when someone was coming to see me? Was I going to spend the night there?... When the optometrist came in she barely acknowledged me, didn’t thank me for waiting or apologize for taking long, gave the appearance of not being prepared when she asked her assistant “what are we doing in this room?” and fumbling with the computer. After a few minutes she told me she was going to dilate my eyes... thus even more waiting. All in all, I was out the door by 6 P.M. If it wasn’t for Michelle who kindly said farewell after that pre-op appointment I probably wouldn’t have bothered to proceed with the treatment. My only suggestion to OELI is that staff should be trained to follow AIDET and be aware of their body language. Sure, it’s the end of the day and everyone (including the patient) wants to go home but it doesn’t mean professionalism should deteriorate at the end of a shift. For patients considering treatment or consultation I highly advise for you to take a nice pair of dark sunglasses because you will have your eyes dilated at the consult AND pre-op appointment.

Hands down one of the best facilities I have ever been to. I was very overwhelmed with the number of people that were in the lobby waiting for appointments. I met with Sarah, who was just fantastic all around with taking pictures and answering questions. I then met with Dr. Turner and his nurse Susan and they were amazing. They spent almost 2 hours with me answering questions and concerns and preparing me for eye surgery. I go and leave, and the scheduler helped with me all my questions and even offered to call and schedule my physical for surgery. I am still nervous about having surgery, as anyone is, but they made my visit comforting and supportive.

The wait is ALWAYS unreasonable so plan on sitting in the waiting area for hours. The girls that conduct scans once your name is called are always rude and will often times check their cellular device when I’m reading the eye chart. Dont even bother expressing your concerns to dr Liu because he isn’t the timliest man as I’ve waited in the exam room over an hour on multiple occasions! He’s an intelligent man that’s good at what he does but don’t expect more than 10 minutes with him during your visit. I was told that they are “understaffed “ and that’s the reason for the long wait but that doesn’t mean I have extra time to sit around and wait.

I went in for a consultation to see if I was a candidate ( I was so nervous) I am 54 and have worn glasses since I was in grade school...Dr Joann Liu, her nurses and Michelle were so awesome...I had my surgery on Nov 16th ...the surgery went well...I am experiencing dry eye and it causes blurry, and some hazziness... I have been back to see Dr Joann and she has been so patient and understanding with me..I am told this is normal in some patients and it takes time...I have faith in Dr Joann and appreciate the time she spends with me..I am keeping a positive attitude and my fingers crossed that the day will come when the blurriness goes away. I was SO nervous about getting Lasik but the entire process was easy. The consualtion was informative and I booked my surgery right away. On the day of surgery everyone was calming and supportive! The doctors and nurses talk you through all of it! The nurse I had even held my hand during the procedure which helped so much! I wish I wouldn’t have been loopy from the Valium because I would’ve given her the biggest hug ever! The procedure is quick and painless. The couple days after are the hardest, my eyes were irritated but the drops and lots of rest help. Overall, I’m so glad I got lasik done! I had my one day follow up today and have 20/20 vision. I would HIGHLY recommend OELI to anyone thinking about getting Lasik. They were amazing!

The after care is where you have the most discomfort but the eye drops are literally amazing! My vision was truly the worst I had been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old and I had the iLASIK yesterday and I had my post surgery follow up and they confirmed that I had 20/20 vision and to hear almost brought me to tears because I don’t even remember what that was like without my glasses. I would have appreciated another overview while in surgery, but the doctor always explained what was happening and what to expect. If I could give six stars, I would! I had the absolute best experience at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute when I had LASIK performed. Dr. James Liu and the staff at OELI are fantastic. Words cannot describe how amazing it is to see clearly 100% of the time. I had my procedure done over a year ago, and still find myself shocked that my vision is so much better than it was with corrective lenses. Some of the pros about OELI is that they are were affordable (not the least expensive, not the most expensive), they were able to fit me in just a few days after my consultation (after deciding to do it, I didn't want to anxiously wait for a long time) AND they do their surgeries on Friday and come in on Saturday for your day-after check up so you don't have to take more than a day off of work - how accommodating is that?

It has now been 2 months out from me having LASIC eye surgery. I couldn't have been happier with the results. I, like everyone else, was very nervous about the actual procedure and the pain afterwards. I couldn't believe how frightened I was the day of, even though I had been told how painless it was, I was very skeptical. They were right though. I was talked through the 1 minute (in each eye) procedure, having the sweetest lady hold my hand (I think her name was Roberta) to ease my fears. Afterward, I kept waiting for the pain to set in, but it never came. I think if you follow the instructions with eye drops, you never really have too much discomfort (I didn't). Although, I find after 2 months without eye glasses that I still have the habit of pushing my now imaginary glasses back up the bridge of my nose, I love the freedom. I went and bought my first pair of $10 sunglasses a week after, just because I finally could! It is worth every penny and I would have paid double this to have the freedom! Thank you so much Omaha Eyes and Laser for making my experience a positive one!!

There isn't a lot more important to a person than their sight. There is no one I would trust, other than Dr. Thomas, to perform an intricate eye surgery to save my vision. He is an incredible man and physician. I cry at random times because I am just overwhelmed with thankfulness for the gift he has given me of restored vision. I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Thomas if you have any issues with vision. I had a Vitrectomy with membrane peel and have significantly restored vision post surgery. There is no one more qualified, in my opinion, to have your sight in his hands, other than Dr. Thomas.

Outstanding experience from start to finish. If you are looking to get LASIK, there is no where else to go. Dr. John Liu and his staff were exceptional from start to finish. I had a good experience until the day after my Friday procedure. The staff was not friendly and rushed through my appointment. I was talking to the Dr. and the nurse (?) walked in without knocking grabbed my purse and motioned to walk me out and said I'll just walk you out (I was still talking) and pretty much pointed me to the door. As if I hadn't just spent a big chunk of money there. When I got to my car, I sent a couple texts and drove off realizing the Dr. was in front of me. It had only been 10 minutes.

Wait times were very short for all 3 appts I had. Extensive eye exam completed 2x (first one to see if I was a candidate and day of Lasik procedure). Felt a little rushed through entire process, but Lasik results were better than anticipated. My vision was considered very severe for farsightedness. They anticipated Lasik would provide 20/30 vision. After the fast and relatively painless Lasik procedure was completed, first 5-6 hrs after Lasik is extremely painful. Use the eye drops as instructed and keep room dark as any light will hurt your eyes!! Morning after, my eyes felt good and vision drastically improved. Morning after follow-up visit with Dr. Liu was great. After another vision test, it was confirmed I was seeing 20/20 vision in my right eye, and almost 20/15 in my left eye. Dr Liu was a great doctor. Overall, the experience was very good and would highly recommend!!
