DESCRIPTION

We've got the reviews of real people like you who purchased the services and products of Nebraska Medicine Truhlsen Eye Institute (Ophthalmologist) in the state of Nebraska.

Nowadays this firm receives a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 and this rating is based on 35 reviews.

You must have seen that it has an average rating is quite insufficient, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to place tatings when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Ophthalmologist belongs to the category of Eye care center.

Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. They don't do quality work, and when you have to return because of their poor work, you will need to wait a month.

Michael Robinson

Great experience. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Adam D

Accross the board, the care, the service, all of it is less than desirable.

The facility is beautiful. The doctors are the best in Omaha. The level of care is good. The front desk is very slow. I came 15 minutes early and they were so slow I almost missed my appointment.

Ryan P

Worst customer/patient support. Would not even provide prescription. Horrible experience, would never go back.

Matthew Haave

Loooooong waits are a given for every visit. Like an hour and a half. That or those with special needs aren't a priority. Rude staff as well. Don't go here unless you have no other choice.

Jason Gove

Amazing place. The doctors and staff are amazing to. I love going there!

Went to Truhlsen Eye Institute because they are in-network with my vision insurance. Everything went well and felt I had a good experience. Would give a review of 5 stars on the eye exam. I did a trial with contacts and found ones I liked. My vision benefit allows $150 to go to glasses or contacts, so my doctor printed my prescription to the store inside of the Eye Institute that sells frames, lenses, contacts, etc. As I was leaving, I stopped in to order the contacts I liked. I was told that they don't work with my insurance... that is why I went to Truhlsen in the first place. In the end I was stuck finding a different place to order contacts. Even though the eye exam was covered by my insurance, it was such a hassle to find a different place to order the contacts. I also feel like I should mention that although the front desk were very lovely. I always waited at least 15 minutes in line before I could check in. The receptionists were very busy checking patients in and answering phones. There are several seats at the front desk, but there are only 1 or 2 ladies working at a time. Up the number of people working and give your customers a better experience.

I went in for a research project and had informed dr quon dong (opthamologist immunologist) that I was blind in one eye with a uveitis. I arrived at 8am and waited till six pm to see 5 medical students painfully shining lights in my eyes. The doctor finally came in and said u cant be part of the study due to lack of vision in my left eye. I had told them prior . His bedside manor was the god syndrome.

This center is understaffed. Hard to get anyone on the phone. Had to wait a long time at every appointment. Dr. Gigantelli is personable, however, I would not recommend him if you care about your appearance as part of the outcome. He does not take the same care as a plastic surgeon even though his bio says that this is part of his credentials. Best to go elsewhere.

I've only started going to an eye doctor here in 2010 and have never gone anywhere else, so don't have a lot of eye doctor offices to compare this one with. Enjoyed Dr. Margalite for the years I saw him, but after that...yuck! Dr. Do (rude) Dr. Graf (extraordinarily rude) others in the office, just meh. One instance years ago, I had an eye irritation which turned out to be a small infection. I had time and was in the neighborhood and stopped in without an appointment. They said it might be a while (hours) since they were booked up. I said that was fine, so went to do some reading in the waiting room. Someone came out and said they could get me in now. I said WOW, that's great. Nurse did the intake and I sat in the waiting room...only after a bit did I hear Dr. Graf in full voice reprimanding a staff member about me saying things like "do we just let anyone walk in"..."well, that's what you did"..."we don't know who this is"...I left the room I was in and interrupted their conversation and said I'd be going to an urgent care clinic instead. They pleaded with me to stay. I did (stupid me). Dr. Graf comes in and "we apologize". What's this "we" business. He didn't own it like he should have. It was all him. Just him! What might have been nice was "I'm so sorry" or "I apologize, I shouldn't have said those things." or "I didn't realize you had been to our office before and had a six year history with us." ANYWAY, I just called to see about an appointment because I didn't get a postcard like I had in the past. They asked if I could hold. I did. I gave up after 15 minutes. I'm moving on. Long overdue, but moving on.

I was in a car accident. Before the accident I had peripheral vision. I had no pain in my eyes and could watch tv if I wanted to. I was told yesterday with really crappy bedside manner by Dr.Gates (opthamologist) that when trauma happens we tendto blame our eyes. Get some eye drops for dry eyes and return in a couple months! Really? I leave there feeling worse than when I went in. Not only did the doctor shine bright lights into my eyes but so did the student and I have daily headaches with not enough medicine. They still dilate eyes with drops which were all over my face. The dimmer switch was broken so lights couldn't be turned down I was to shut my eyes. I hope no doctor ever asks me to return there.

I've been going here since I was in high school. Most or all of my family members go here. Haven't heard any complaints from them. I usually do my yearly eye exam in the morning, less people and wait times that way. That being said, I've never had to wait TOO long to be seen (Dr. Graf has been my care provider ever since I can remember). The only minor complaints I would have would be that they seem to have trouble with their computer system. On a couple of separate occasions, I've had to wait for the receptionists to figure out and enter all of my information. Post examination, the lovely lady in the back had trouble identifying my insurance information while juggling callers, etc. My WORST experience there though would be that during my exam last year (April 2018) I was seated in an examination room and prepped by a med student when a question with my insurance came up. Although I full well knew I had proof of insurance, etc. they made me feel as though they would stop and ask me to leave without it. Otherwise, I've thought the doctors and staff have been friendly, respectful, and professional. I think we need to also remember that this is a research hospital and institution, after-all.

Love Dr. Gigantelli his office staff is another matter. I have been calling for three weeks now and still have not gotten a return call.

Kristen Diaz

My kids, husband & I have been going to Dr Schaaf for the last couple of years. Dr Schaaf & staff are always friendly. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room for our appointment. The optical staff have been very patient & supportive of my daughter when trying contacts for the first time. We have always had a great experience.

Rome Cottrell

Yes! I been using this facility ever since I was hired at UNMC 4.7 years ago ! However I have another job which has me doing something different , but I do hope that I can hopefully keep on using this eye clinic in the future

We showed up at 1015 for a 1030 appt for my 3 year old. At 1230, we had still not seen the doctor. My son needed a dilated exam so it would have been an additional hour minimum in the office. Upon asking the receptionist, we learned that they had double-booked the spot and chose to not prioritize our special needs 3 year old. We had to leave without being seen by Dr. Legge- this office is consistently hours behind schedule and does not give updates timeline expectations during delays.

Anna Foxcroft

Great experience! Dr. Jebson is super nice. She listened & responded to all my questions and concerns. She went above & beyond!

Linda Griffel

Dr Gigantelli is the best.

Michele J Curran

$380 FOR A ROUTINE EYE EXAM. I thought I had made an appointment to see an ophthalmologists, but had an appointment with an optometry student, and a brief visit with the Sr. optometrist. For a routine eye exam, they charged me $380 dollars for an office visit. I will never go there again. Plus, the wait time to see the Dr. Graff was more than 1/2 hour and then he re-dilated my eyes, which had already been done...I couldn't focus my eyes for about 10 hours. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.

Karen Miranda

My visit with Dr. Muriel Jepsen was very professional and informative. She was on time and answered all my questions. The staff was pleasant. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I have been coming to Truhlsen for about 6 years now. They are capable, and professional. The staff is GREAT!! The scheduling however, is horrible YOU WILL NEVER BE IN AND OUT WITHIN 6+ HOURS, NOT EVEN WHEN IT IS A PLANNED PROCEDURE. Again staff and doctors are amazing!

Is there a NO STAR option? Showed up for my 3 appointments that I scheduled over a month ago and was told that my Doctor was out of the office for the month of July. REALLY? NO CALL FROM HIS OFFICE. Maybe someone should have told the scheduling dept. Come to find out from a Local college Dean that Nebraska Medicine Truhlsen Eye Institute is famous for this. NOT GOOD. Will NOT be returning or rescheduling. Reading other reviews and it looks like this place is a hot mess. No pathetic response required from Nebraska Medicine.

Angela DeRossett

My kids see Dr. Legge and I see Dr. Vuppala. There are times we have experienced long wait times so plan for it but we've always had the best service. We would never go see anyone else.

Our company helps the eldery. This gentleman has hearing issues and is almost blind. The two ladies that help him were rude, disrespectful, and moved too fast with no explanations given. We asked for their names and they refused. Not happy and will not refer anybody.

Luann Voss

Dr. Margalit was the best and they replaced him with rude doctors and staff.

Drake Nielsen

horrible wait times, even when they're not busy
