They told me to take out my contacts and then had me fill out paperwork (including billing information) and had me walk from one room to another (which seemed like it was half way across the building) - I am seriously blind without my contacts. I would not visit this practice again.

Disorganized. I think that separating the contacts and lenses into their own department is more hurtful than helpful. Scheduling nightmare, confusion EVERYWHERE. And to hear one of the front desk ladies sitting at the front desk and talking loudly about her personal sex life to a coworker... not what I want to hear while I'm in your waiting room... Leaves much to be desired. Also, I shouldn't need to sit in your contact department for 20 minutes while you place an order for trials, only to call me back up to the desk after 20 minutes and say "yep, those are ordered, we will call you when they come in"... not good.

Have been a patient for many years. They are very professional and explain what, and why you are receiving a specific treatment. They have done corrective eye surgery, and treating me for age related eye diseases. I won’t go anywhere else.

Ridiculous! I waited for an hour and half needed contacts after my appointment and they didn’t even do a contact exam and the ladies just sat there and did nothing but say ‘ oh well we don’t have anything till November ‘ don’t even waste your time here!

Extremely hard to get a hold of, would not give me my contact prescription after I asked them to fax it to me three times, and extremely expensive.

I have been a patient there for 3 decades, typically pretty good service if everything is good with your eyes. But, recently had a retinal issue which required an injection. The insurance counselors were not helpful at all and one was actually very rude after they had coded my insurance paperwork incorrectly. It was two weeks befoe i received this information and she didn't share this information with me until after I spent almost two hrs on the phone with my insurance company. The insurance counselor then demanded $5000 from me the day my injection was scheduled!! It was a horrible experience and I will never go there again or ever recommed Midwest Eyecare to anyone!! Very poor customer service.

My boyfriend went there with a large blockage in his eye. He paid the co pay and for then to exam his eye . They did the exam but told him their Dr was not comfortable doing the surgery and they referred him to another location. That location stated they can't accept his insurance and referred him back to this office. Now all of a sudden they felt comfortable enough to do the surgery but wanted to charge him for another exam! They refused to waive the exam fee (he literally just had an exam done at this office so did not want to pay for another) so he ended up having to go elsewhere. Needless to say it was a lot of back and forth and time wasted. This place was definitely more worried about their money than their clients. Sad

Found exactly the right sun shield glasses I was looking for, for my mother. Thank you Christian.

I have a corneal erosion in my left eye that Dr. Hanks diagnosed. I am very sad that he has retired now. I was transferred to Dr. Feilmeier. He seems ok, but I just cannot seem to get in with him. Every time I call with this issue, I end up frustrated after speaking with a medical assistant. I keep being told that the optometrist is just a good as the doctor and the medical assistants trust them with their own health. Good for them, it is my eye heath, not theirs.. Not the case. I called and they got me in with a Dr. Dickinson. My appointment was at 9:20am. She finally decided to grace her appearance in the room at 11:35am. Explained that because I was being worked in, I had to wait until she saw all of her regular appointments for the day. Last time I will be going to this office for care. I will just have to find an MD who will take the time to care about my eye issue and not have to deal with incompetent medical staff who know nothing. The other bad thing is I ended up paying for a MD visit but only saw the OD that day and only for a few minutes as she was just too busy to be bothered with my "trivial" problem. What a waste of money as my eye seems to be getting worse by the day and I am afraid to call them back because I am just going to be shuffled around again and not get to the root of the problem.

I'm reasonably happy with the doctors except that they seem to have an extraordinarily high case load. The support staff and customer care infrastructure are, however, below par. The triage nurses kept me from seeing a doctor for two months for what was ultimately diagnosed as iritis, a disease I continue to have after 9 months. The website has not been thoroughly tested with Chrome. Even with another browser, I am not able to e-mail my doctor's staff.

I have never been to a more disorganized medical practice. I told them the type of insurance I had and the employer it was through when I made the appointment. If they needed more information such as the primary's SSN, they certainly could have asked as I have been asked this before as a new patient. There was no established line when I entered the building unlike other places where there is one single line which makes it easy to tell who is next and who gets to go to the next open receptionist. Because there was no established waiting line I wait as an elderly gentleman who came in after me is helped before me. Not a big deal. Then other people started to wait off to the side from me so I avidly watch the receptionists to make sure I get the next open one. Someone opens up but she tells me it'll be a minute and types at her computer rather than having me sit across from her while she finishes up. Another receptionist opens so I walk up and she tries to tell me that the other people were there first. Luckily another receptionist vouches for me as I tell her that no, I was before them and actually I arrived before the gentleman she had just helped. Already flustered, I answer all the same questions I was asked when I made the appointment and more (like the primary's SSN and DOB). Nothing comes up under mine/ the primary's names for eye insurance even though I had the confirmation of my 2016 benefits. She called the eye insurance company and then tells me that they have no record of us either and I need to call my company's HR. And then she asked if I would like to reschedule. Nope, I really did not. I called another eye care practice to make an appointment and they said they would confirm my benefits before my arrival and there was no need for me to call HR; they would call if they ran into any problems. THIS is how customer service works. Midwest Eye Care made a terrible first impression.

I can say enough wonderful things about the entire staff at Midwest Eye Care on California Street... when I showed up this morning in a lot of pain, everty single person was very helpful and kind and I was in with the doctor within 20minutes. Thank you to everyone!

I visited Dr. Whitted at Midwest Eye Care and was very happy with my overall experience. Dr. Whitted truly took his time with me and made sure I understood the outcome of his findings. Dr. Whitted genuinely cares for his patients and wants to see you have the best results possible and will do what it takes to make that happen. I highly recommend Dr. Whitted to anyone looking for any sort of eye care, especially if you are in the market for LASIK. Overall, great doctor and great experience with all the staff! Especially, Dr. Whitted assistance Katie, she is extremely knowledge and willing to help.

I called for an appointment for my son on Monday for an acute vision change, and they made an appointment for me the following day. The front office staff was fantastic and very professional. The assistant who "brought us back was amazing. Very friendly, made my son feel right at home and relaxed. Dr Teri Geist was nothing short of amazing. She talked to my son in a way he could easily understand, made him comfortable (fun), but serious at the same time. She fully informed me of the treatment procedure and fully answered my questions in a way that was understandable. Taking my son to her and Midwest Eye care was the right choice. I will be using Midwest Eye Care and specifically Dr. Geist for my family.

Dr Jackson is the best. She has helped me with many eye problems!

The receptionist was extremely rude and short with me. She turned me away because i could not produce a physical insurance card even though I could provide the information. So my appointment was cancelled.

I have never been to an eyecare center that was so wonderful to be at. Everyone was very polite and made sure they did everything necessary to get me the right prescription and glasses I hope it always stays this way it was wonderful

I visited on 5/2. I had no trouble at all with any receptionists, in fact the one who checked me in was extraordinarily merciful and kind as I was silly enough to leave my wallet at home. She ensured I could still get in as I had someone go and retrieve my info from home. The lady (forgive me for not remembering her name and my informality) who evaluated my contacts was very nice! The receptionist at the contact lense desk was VERY cool and sweet. Also, the assistant to Dr. Mercer was so, so generous as I had to take an important, brief phone call (I won't again, I'm so sorry, but thank you SO much). My only complaint is minor in that Dr. Mercer was just in and out, probably because it was a very busy day and she probably had a high volume of patients; she did everything she was supposed to, but perhaps for lack of time, there was little time for warmth. So I'd say she was efficient, but didn't note a couple of things my previous eye doctor had noticed that I would have liked to confirm or get updates on. Overall, very positive. Thanks!

I believe we are lucky to have Dr. Whitted here in Omaha.

Dolores King

Dr. Whitted has been fantastic working with our family for the last 9 years! In the last 2-3 years, I have developed a serious eye condition. He continues to be very proactive in my care. Although we have moved out of state, we continue to have him monitor my eye care/health.
