I was looking for a cataract surgeon with availability sooner than the 4 months out availability with my doctor. I had several eye tests and was required to sign the cataract surgery authorization form before the doctor even saw me. Dr. Griess didn't believe me when I said I was having difficulty with my vision. His assessment was 1) my cataracts were not that bad, 2) I should use moisturizing drops (which my original dr had discontinued), and 3) an eye lid lift would solve my vision problems. I don't have big round doe eyes, never did; my almond shaped eyes are what they are and have always been. Plastic surgery to lift my eye lids didn't seem like a viable solution to my vision problems. I've now seen two additional surgeons and a neurology specialist, and yes, my cataracts are severe enough to require surgery. And, oh, by the way, I also have glaucoma which Dr. Griess missed completely.

I have been going to Dr. R. Crossman for 10 plus years. Very professional and personable as well. I have no doubt I am in good hands when being thoroughly checked. His office assistant is, likewise, very personable and helpful. Had to call the office from out-of-state to get my prescription as I had lost my glasses and needed a replacement. The assistant called me right back and was so helpful in getting my need met.

Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. My son was 3 when he first visited for a horribly lazy eye. They took his fear away and he looks forward to his visits every few months. The Dr. explained everything. Highly recommended!

Dr. Maw may perform well in surgery but his bedside manner is HORRIBLE. He diagnosed me with a precursor to an eye disease and showed no sympathy while I cried because I had no previous eye issues before an accident. Then he insisted that it was not caused by this accident and would not even entertain the idea because he "has not seen any research" on the matter. However, if you do some simple online research it is very possible that my accident could have been the cause to my disease. He clearly does not care for his patients. He is simply in the medical field for the science/money of it, not to actually care for others. He couldn't even shake my hand let alone say sorry or even goodbye as he was leaving. I have never been treated so awful in my whole life, especially in such a vulnerable state. I will never go back to this facility and I do not recommend you attend either.

Was a horrible experience staff up front is and are very unprofesstional zero care for your well being so if you have lots of time and money to waste and are super patient you could waste ur time here. If not find a different clinic and if your are being referred here I would reconsider the motives of who is referring you as to why they are. Lesson learned busy office doesn't translate to good clinic.

My toddler daughter was in extreme pain and this clinic fit us in at the last minute. The staff was amazing! Shevonda immediately took care of my insurance and I was called back within minutes. The assistant Monica was so good with daughter! The fruit snacks were a perfect touch. Dr Crossman had great patience and performed a thorough exam. This was my first experience with Methodist and I was truly impressed. I am incredibly grateful to the flexible staff at First Eye.

Does not answer questions and does not listen. If Dr Maw did a thorough analysis of my previous Dr records and my condition he did not let on so during my appointment. I have previously been diagnosed w/ Glaucoma - he said OCT scans are subjective - which my previous Dr had indicated there was deterioration in. After asking him twice he would not tell me exactly what my pressures were, just that they were in the teens. The first appointment I made he did not conduct full eye exam (ie prescription for glasses). So I scheduled a 2nd one, and had to remind him to do so. He did not listen to me when I told him the left eye power was too high - and when I received was WAY higher than what it had been before. I have had many historical issues with my eyes and to date have never had a Dr not share w/ me specific information w/ me regarding my eye situation.
