Miscommunication with office staff created negative experience. Most of staff extremely professional and helpful. The director was rude. Dr. Osborn left before 30 minute post procedure check. Dr. Carter did the post procedure check. The one week check up was with Dr. Carter but received a call from the office to change the time and the Doctor to Dr. Bureman. When I questioned why I was told "the doctors are interchangeable. Past experience with Dr. Jansen was a totally different experience. We will in the future limited our needs to Dr. Jansen as physicians are not interchangeable.

Everyone was friendly and took time to explain each step of my surgery to remove cataracts. I’m very pleased with the results. The only negative was that I had to pay for the laser assist portion of my bill even though that was recommended by the doctor due to another eye disease I have; however, I was told beforehand exactly what my out-of-pocket expense would be.

First off, I am a service professional on a daily basis, I recognize excellent service when I see it and the following is one such instance I feel privileged to relay to anyone who reads reviews like I do. If you're on the fence about going here or a place just down the street, I can tell you these tremendous people at Missouri Eye Institute are better and know what they're doing. I had been to a place down the road for LASIK in 2009 and also about a year ago for what I thought was a stye in my upper eyelid. After my initial visit and 5-6 weeks of no improvement and phone calls to that office last year with just a keep doing what you're doing attitude, I decided to get a second opinion. That decision turned out to be the best one. As it turns out I had and have blepharitis not a stye. Dr. Osborn and his staff gave me procedures and tips to try to help it go away and prescribed an antibiotic. The aforementioned doctor's office had given me an eye ointment, the absolute wrong thing to try and dry out the blocked eyelash area oil ducts. Just recently I had another infection as the bacteria is incurable. I promptly made another eye appointment with Missouri Eye Institute and sure enough, the same superb, fantastic treatment I received before. The staff are first rate, kind, professional, knowledgeable, perform their duties at a very high level and are easy going. Nobody enjoys having something physically wrong with them, but feeling at ease and knowing that the professionals you see for any potential issues are incredible at what they do make things far better. I will continue to speak praises of Missouri Eye Institute, Sarah, Katherine, Mackenzie, Darlene and of course Dr. Daniel Osborn are part of the amazing group that cares for my eyes and make every visit amazing. Not often do people provide incredible service, but they do it, multiple times in my case. Thank you!

Just be prepared for the long waiting room times. Also, it takes a while to get an appointment with the doctors because everybody wants to go to them.

Worst experience of my life! Incompetent staff and can't talk to any person that is in charge. I was told the administrator named Lori ? would be giving me a call to explain why and how they came up with the most ridiculous prices ever! I was referred to this place by a very good doctor. Apparently that doctor isn't aware of the mickey mouse ways this company operates. Never seen anything like it. Not sure where all the great reviews come from, these people must not have been in the same place I was.

Dr. Lenci and his entire staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional instilling trust and confidence from the first appointment forward. I feel fortunate to have found such a great ophthalmologist and would highly recommend him to anyone. I was first referred by my optometrist for an in-depth glaucoma examination and cataract evaluation and am relieved to find that neither are imminent threats to my vision. Dr. Lenci will be monitoring progression and provide treatment when/if it becomes necessary. When I later contacted Dr. Lenci's office after experiencing an extended episode of "floaters" his staff asked several relevant questions, then arranged for me to see him right away. I have faith that my eyes are in very good hands.

Great staff. Seriously overbooked. My appointment was at 3. I was taken back to a room at 350. I didn't see the doctor until 445. I was told I needed a driver. So my daughter left work early and I didn't need a driver after all. This place needs some time management and organizational skills.

Then entire process (with one exception) was truly excellent. The exception was the ONE-HOUR wait to see the doctor after the one hour of examinations by the technician. I’m always prepared to wait in a doctor’s office (the unexpected can always happen) but one hour seems extreme, and more time than a patient ought to have to give up. Once I saw the doctor he was wonderful, but that wait, especially since my eyes were highly dilated, and thus I could not focus on my phone to use it to while away the time, was pretty bad.

My wife has had three appointments here. Doctor Jansen did a good job, but the rest of the staff were totally incompetent. The wait was long in all three cases. In the first visit, the nurse putting in the IV didn't know how to do it. Then she waited an hour to make her next appointment (along with dozens of others) and was finally told the person who makes appoints was not there that day. Today, She had an appointment for a laser procedure following cataract surgery 2 years ago. She spent over 2 hours waiting and being tested by people who didn't know how to use the equipment. The laser procedure took 30 seconds. They need to hire an office manager and train the people. Doctor great. Staff terrible.

I have heard terrible things about the accounting people. Must be true. I cancelled my surgery due to non communication with this place.

Jim Carey Had right eye cataract procedure on Dec 19, and left eye on Jan 16. Follow up appointment the day after for both procedures. Dr. Jansen performed both procedures. He's my future go to professional for related issues. Medical and support staff were courteous, polite and professional at all times. All staff were solicitous of any questions I may have had as well as explaining clearly each step of the process. Both procedures had check in at 7am, and I was ushered to my vehicle with driver waiting within 2 hours. Pre and aftercare clearly explained. Followup and removal of patch, initial exam etc., was pleasant, supportive and encouraging. I highly recommend the Missouri Eye Institute for you surgical eye procedures.

I had a interesting surgery. I told them I had latex sensitive. They used latex tape and a spot the size of a quarter blister. Also I kept becoming aware of conversation threw the surgery. Like waken up several times during. Very weird. The facility is clean and the staff nice.

I was apprehensive about having the cataract removed, but the staff helped to put me at ease and answered all of my questions. The procedure was quick and painless yesterday. I chose to have the toric lens to correct my astigmatism as well as my nearsightedness. Today, just 24 hours after the procedure, I can read the 20-20 line on the distance eye chart with that eye! I really wanted to give 5 stars but I cant. My reason is because from the start I was given different prices and wasn't told that after surgery I would need to purchase eye drops that cost 212 and another for 40 plus another 212 in drop because I need a refill on the expensive one. I was a cash payer and thankful I had the cash and was able to pay. I do think that prices on the surgery should not change I was told 3800 then 3900 and at the end it was 4000 plus my expenses on the drops. Now the staff was pretty nice,surgery center was just amazingly beautiful!!!

If you are having problems with glare, blurry vision, finding yourself turning up the lights, and spending money on new glasses that don’t correct your vision, make an appointment with Missouri Eye Institute. You do NOT need to be referred by an optometrist. I went for a cataract consultation and was treated with respect, given all material needed (including help with whether my Medicare would cover costs) to make an informed decision about how to treat my cataracts. No pressure. I chose surgery and the day after my surgery, the glare was gone, colors were brighter, and, most importantly, no more blurry vision! Still may need glasses—I don’t care. Missouri Eye Institute brightened my world!

Ridiculous wait time. I think they forgot about my mom. We waited an hour after initially arriving. Meanwhile, 4-5 people who arrived well after us were taken back quickly. They told her to arrive 15 minutes before appointment time only to wait an hour. The front desk girl was very friendly and made more coffee when I went to get some and found it empty.

I had been wearing contacts for over 10 years. The Lasik Surgery provided by Missouri Eye Institute brought me back to 20/20 vision! I believe the Lord Jesus Christ used this wonderful institute to bring about a miracle with my vision to which I am forever grateful. The whole process from the initial pre-opp to the 15 minute procedure to the post-opp appointments have all been conducted with great excellence and professionalism. I suffered an eye injury leaving me blind in that eye nearly 40 years ago. After getting an object in my good eye and having a followup appt we discussed my eye injury and Dr. Jensen felt they might be able to do something for me. Dr. Carter completed my exam today and with all of the correction technology changes I did read the 20/20 vision line. Surgery it appears is an option as Dr. Jensen discussed.
