I've had failing vision within the past 2 years.
I've been to two differnt local eye doctor's, where I was told I have early onset cataracts being so young at just 50 yrs. Even with my glasses they prescribed, my vision has dramatically decreased in 6 months.
I asked each doctor if I could get lasik surgery and they both told me I needed to be almost completely blind to be considered.
I didn't like what they told me, I was angry.
I could barely read with my glasses or see to drive, and I would get terrible headaches, run into walls and fall down sometimes from my diminished vision.
So a friend told me to go to Mason Eye, so last week while driving at night in the rain I made a wide turn and was almost hit by another car, so I decided I need to get my appointment right away. I was able to get in the same week I called on. I loved my doctor and the tecs everyone is so friendly, there was a lot of people all ready waiting so I thought it would take a long time waiting and was surprised that within 5 minutes I was called back, to start my exam, all in all I was extremely thrilled that Doc said next week they would call me to set up the cataract surgery at Women and children's Hospital and the procedure would take 15 minutes total. They'll remove my lenses and replace with the new ones. Then the following week will be the other eye.
I will be awake during the surgery and have an IV, and heart monitors on.
I'm very excited to be able to see clearly again!!!! Thank you all
