If you are looking at this review for Dr. Galanis, then I can say, unequivocally, this was the best decision I ever made, going to this doctor to remove my cataracts. If you need more info, read on. I was a bit skeptical at first. I mean, after all, I never had cataracts before and no one ever touched my eyes. I need my eyes. I am a piano player for several churches. My first visit for the evaluation was met with a lot of waiting. Later on, I realized it was because of the special care they give everyone who walks through those doors. No one is rushed through. Everyone is treated with respect, given the utmost care on an individual basis, and made to feel as comfortable, at ease and at home to the best of their ability. From the receptionist, to the technicians and nurses, both at Dr. Galanis's office on Watson Road and The Eye Institute on Manchester Road, to the other doctors (mine was Dr. Barlow), to the last person you see to set up your next visit, I can say without a doubt, it was a wonderful experience. I am sure there are others out there that can do what he and they did. But to me, he is the best, his staff are the best, the doctors, technicians and his staff are all the best at what they do. So the decision for you should be to call them for an appointment as soon as you can and quit worrying. You'll be in good hands. You'll be able to sing the song, "I Can See Clearly Now, the Cataracts Is Gone!".

Dr. Galanis is the best Glaucoma specialist I ever met before. He implanted miniature glaucoma shunt in my glaucoma affected eye in September 2011 and till then no issue. He has saved my eye sight. God bless him! He and his staff are very kind and very professional! I whole heartily recommend to visit and take eye treatment from Dr. Galanis.

If your thinking about refractive lense exchange. This is a must do. I'm 47 years old, been wearing readers for 4 years. This changed my life. This is the place to do it. It cost 8000.00 all in for both eyes. No need to shop around, come here and get the best service ever. These people are pros. I can see now at 20/20 vision. No more readers period. From the last that answers the phone to the doctor that does the surgery. To notch!!!!

The waiting room was full, so we had conversations with those around us. When it was time for me to go into the opt area, the nurses were very pleasant, the facility was bright and friendly, and the surgery was over quickly. Recovery was quick and we were out in a few hours.

This is one of the best medical practices I have ever been to. They are all very helpful, efficient, and friendly. They make you feel like you are an important part of the healthcare team, and encourage you to ask questions. I had never seen what my retina looks like, pretty interesting. I asked what Retinosa Pigmentosa looks like, a condition my brother has, and they pulled up an image and explained it. I wish I could get my brother to move his files, but he wants to stick with his grumpy, non-communicative eye doctor. I disagree with some of the previous posts that said they are slow. They do have a very busy practice, but they seem well staffed, and always get to me very quickly. If you are having your eyes dilated, it takes a while for the drops to take effect, so that could add to the perception of a "long wait".

My review is in regards to the staff. Most of the clients that come here are elderly. Please be kind and patient when interacting. Just a simple question gets the staff irritated! So what if they ask the same question a couple of times, be nice! If you can't deal with this age of people who cant hear so well, cant move as well, and certainly cant see as well, then move on. I was blown away by the disrespect of the staff. Front desk AND billing.

I have had nothing but positive, professional experiences at Galanis Cataract & Laser Eye. Several years ago, I needed cataract surgery, but I was fearful as I had a friend who had multiple problems after her surgery by another doctor. I have NEVER had a single problem since my surgery. Furthermore, my vision, after my procedure, has been great! I go for a very thorough eye exam yearly because I have diabetes, and I have always been treated very well by employees, some of whom I recognize from prior years. Even though I now live over 25 miles from the center, I will not change physicians for someone closer to home. My vision is too important to allow anyone but Dr. Galanis to manage my eye care.

If I could I would give a minus 10. I called to make an appointment. I have AARP Medicare Complete through United Healthcare as well as Medicaid. It is office policy not to accept Medicaid patients. She couldn't give me the reason so no appointment. Ridiculous. Very nefati e review.

Dr.Galanis and his staff are very professional and courteous, but they are also very very slow. We often sit in the office for more than 90 minutes after our scheduled appointment time before we get to see the doctor. If that only happened once or twice, it might be OK, but it happens every time we go. A 2.5 might be the proper rating, but that is not an option.

Dr. Galanis performed cataract and lens implant surgery on one eye, and I chose to do the other eye 5 months later. We all used patience to allow the first eye to live up to expectations (which it did 100%), and then I had the second eye done, with immediate expectations fulfilled. At age 70, I have near perfect vision, and am so thankful. The doctors and staff at Galanis Cataract & Laser Eye are tops in every way! They are faithful to follow up to the extent that you need it, and just going to the office is a very pleasant event!
