I had cateract surgery on my left eye on April 2, and then on my right just one week later on April 9. My eyes were so bad that I had one eye dr. tell me I was legally blind without glasses. I began wearing glasses when I was in the 4th grade. I had been seeing Dr. Morris for several years, but when he left Precision Eye Care, I started seeing Dr Fitz. My first visit he said these cateracts are ready to come off. He said he wanted to do them a week apart, otherwise the difference would drive me crazy. I was so scared that first surgery morning. I told the nurses and the anesthesiologist how scared I was, and then when Dr. Fitz came in, i told him. I am no stranger to surgery. I have had my fair share of them. BUT I was really upset over this one. Dr. Fitz was so nice and said its because its your eyes. They gave me a little extra "happy juice" and wheeled me into the OR. Where 50's music was blaring and people were singing along. I was awake for the while procedure on both eyes. But never felt a thing!! I couldn't even see anything. I heard them talking. I saw the green dots when Dr. Fitz asked. When I was in recovery, I could see the clock across the room without glasses for the first ever. The right eye took all day for the blurriness to go away. Now I only have to use the cheap reading glasses to see up close. I had a check up this week. Right eye is now 20/20 and left eye is 20/15! Dr. FITZ KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!! God Bless You Doc.
