I must say, this was the worst experience I have ever had at the optomotrists office. The staff was unfriendly wrong with their initial copay requests (they did correct that after we call our insurance) The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional and when it came time to pick out our lenses (both my husband and i required their services) the lady who is supposed to "help" you pick out glasses was only after her comission and I ended up walking out without choosing anything because I felt I was being "duped" the gentleman who ended up helping my husband because my husband was ready to walk out too did give him correct billing and service....so heres to you matt....good job, as for the rest of the office....both thumbs down, I have never written a review before but I plan on reviewing them on every sight I can find!

Have been going to this Discover Vision Ctr for 10 years but have never been treated like I was treated today. The exam nurse was so RUDE, uncaring and would not listen to my problem. She (Jan) informed me that with her MEDICAL knowledge that I would have to learn to live with my double vision. She would not even give me a chance to do any explaining of my problem with the double vision. I ask her to listen to me and she just turned in her chair put her arms across her chest and after I tried to explain what my history was with this problem she just jumped up and said "I will talk to my manager and somebody else will have to deal with you". She left the room and after 10 minutes when no one came I got up and left. I will not go back to this site as they had given me a time for an appointment and when I would show up at that time they would always say I should have been there an hour ago or an hour later. Three trips like this - my gas money - my time and still have not seen the Dr.

My wait was very short. The initial exam before seeing Dr. Hammacher was efficient, professional and courteous. Dr. Hammacher’s exam was thorough, answering all of my questions. Then I went to choose my glasses, and the employee who helped me was courteous and considerate, answering all of my questions completely. The price was VERY reasonable, particularly considering that I have no vision insurance, and they gave me the option to break it up into 2 payments, which wasn’t necessary. From the very beginning when I checked in, I was treated in a considerate, professional manner. The entire experience was great, and not too much of a strain on my bank account.

I scheduled appointment online and they wrote back to confirm 8AM and then put me down for 9AM without telling me. That means that when I showed up, I had to wait in the lobby. Finally, after waiting, they tell me that my vision insurance isn't accepted there. They tell me that they left a voicemail saying that yesterday but I sent them a copy of my phone records showing that wasn't the case. This means that they are not detail-oriented (mis-scheduled my appointment) and that they also have no problem lying (saying they called me when they didn't). They wasted my morning and I didn't get an eye exam like I needed and all they could say was sorry which wasn't really good enough for me. No out-of-network options? No cash pay discount since they wasted my morning? They had a person needing an eye exam and they sell eye exams. Best they could do is say $125? I would've done it for vision insurance negotiated rate just to get it over with but I guess they don't think outside the box like an entrepreneur.

I recently had an annual check-up with him and was given (4) options to correct the huge difference in my prescription lenses. I have made my choice among those options. The tech was friendly & professional. The doctor took her time to explain things to me and she tried several times to get a more accurate reading on my stubborn right eye. Their machines & methods are up to date. They worked with my budget and didn't push me to buy eyeglasses as well. Overall, my first experience was a pleasant one. Granted our appointments were later in the afternoon, the entire process was very pleasant and next to 0 minutes wait time. The gentleman at the glasses shop (I believe his name was Matt?) was especially helpful and professional in helping us choose the right lense type for our prescriptions and still keep it economical. Referred to Dr. Hamaker from Centerpoint ER with double vision. Was able to see him the very next day. Within minutes he diagnosed my problem and prescribed a prism for my left eye and single vision was restored. Hopefully, as he has predicted my normal eyesight will return within weeks or months.

I called Discover Vision on a Friday late afternoon I had a problem with my eye all day and it was not getting better. They said that I could come in Saturday morning. I told her how bad it hurt could someone please see me now. I did not know they were about to close for the day. She told me she would ask one of the doctors if they could stay over and see me. She said if I could get there by 4:45 Dr David Phillips who is my eye dr would stay and see me. We got there and they were waiting for me. Dr Phillips and his staff went above and beyond. I so appreciate everything they did for me. Turned out I needed some medicine for an infection. They did not have to stay and see me but they did. I recommend them. Thank you Discover Vision!!
