Very kind and helpful front desk staff who helped me make sure I had the right kind of appointment after the phone staff messed up and put me down for a routine eye exam. They take preferred name and pronouns. My Optometrist’s assistant was very good about asking my preferred pronouns in a non offensive way. Optometrist herself was also kind and clear about her instructions during and for after my examination. Would recommend to everyone and definitely recommend to my trans and non binary friends

I went for an appointment with my 6 year old son. We had the initial part of the visit where his eyes were dilated. We were told, it takes 30 minutes before the doctor can see a patient following this. After this, we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to see the doctor. The visit lasted well over 2 hours. Dr. P was nice, apologized, and said it was a perfect storm that day in the office. However, to ask a 6 year old to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes in the middle of the appointment is NOT pediatric care. The waiting room was PACKED. While not a physician issue, this is certainly a clinic issue. No matter how good the doctors are, this is not the way to treat patients in a respectful manner. We were offered a 25$ gift card and our insurance was billed $650.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked a routine eye exam for my 4 year old and was charged $666 for the appointment. We were charged $406 for a new doctor visit which was not disclosed to me when I made the appointment or when the appointment was taking place. Additional testing was done without consent for something that was not necessary. I called to dispute the charges but was brushed off. I will never go back to this clinic.

I have been going to Northwest Eye for over 40 years. Never had an unpleasant experience. I now go to the Maple Grove office for convenience. The staff at the front desk are friendly and welcoming. No waiting. My appointment started at the scheduled time. I saw Gina for initial exam. She was very knowledgeable and efficient and very friendly. Dr. Ramsey is very good. I feel very positive about upcoming surgery.

I recently visited the Maple Grove location for a somewhat significant eye injury. The eye exams were extremely thorough and offered me the first signs of hope. The technicians were extremely pleasant and informative the entire time. The doctor I saw on my first trip immediately suggested I see one of their Specialists. The Specialists are in high demand and have very intense schedules at this clinic. I was expecting a long wait before they could see me again, but I begged them to fit me in ASAP. They interrupted the Specialist to explain my situation and she took me in the next morning! The following day was much of the same, extremely thoughful and overwhelmingly detailed eye tests. I can confidently say....the time I spent with their specialist, was without a doubt the best experience I’ve ever encountered with a doctor!!! Trust me, I’ve broken 23 bones in my lifetime and I’ve been in front of a ton of doctors. As far as I’m concerned, Northwest Eye Clinic is the only place you should trust anyone with your eyes! This is truly a 5 Star Clinic! Sincerely, Grateful

My son was in to see Dr. Freeman. They waited over an hour past his appointment to be roomed then sat waiting for the doctor for at least another 30-45 minutes. Finally the doctor snuck in, took one look at him and blurted out a diagnosis in all medical terms without explanation. He was snippy with any questions asked to him, and after this long of a wait already, said they needed to dilate my son's eyes and someone would be in to do that. Dr. Freeman spent 5 minutes with my son and my husband walked out of the office after hearing they needed to dilate after already being there for so long. He had nothing but rude manor and made them sit 2 hours with nothing accomplished. Dr. Freeman then lied in his office visit note that he spent at least 30-45 minutes with my son when no actual exam was even performed and in actuality he spent only minutes with him before my son and husband walked out, then they sent us a bill for this pointless, waste of time "office visit". Sounds like a scam to me and we nor anyone else in our family will ever be back. Proceed with caution with this clinic/physician. Zero stars

Both of my daughters (ages 8 and 6) see Dr. P at the Maple Grove location, and she is AMAZING. She makes the girls feel so comfortable, and responds directly to their concerns and questions. The clinic is great, and we especially appreciate the 7:00am appointment times that they are now offering, as this helps by not having to take the girls out of school for these appointments.

Brought my 85 year old Mom today. She has severe dementia. Dr. Luchien didn't introduce himself to her, nor did he introduce the 2 ladies he brought in. He questioned my judgement on why I didn't want her eyes dialated, and said "don't you want her to see better if she has cataracts?" why do you think I brought her in for an eye exam? 85 year olds with dementia can't tolerate trauma, it makes them worse. He said "it's only out patient." seriously Doctor, get some training on elderly patients. He then walked out without a good bye or anything. I used to be a patient, not anymore.

The optical store employees are fantastic as well, they helped me find glasses for my little one (18 months old) and every time I've had a band break or needed an eye patch they are the friendliest and happy to help. On my first visit on 2/22/19, I felt good vibes the moment I walked in the door. The staff at the check-in were awesome! Explained and helped me fill out and sign forms very well, where I didn't have to ask any other questions. The eye doctor and his assistant were great! There was NO BEATING AROUND THE BUSH conversations about what I was there for. Got the exam done and walked out with the results I was hoping for. So My experience at this location was great. I will be returning in a few weeks for my next treatment

This Eye Clinic is phenomenal. I left a reputable eye clinic in Blaine who could not seem to fit me properly for contacts. I was uncertain about Northwest Eye because there were some negative reviews. I was tired of not being able to see properly and was pretty desperate to find someone who could do a good job. I saw Dr. Brian Hamann for both contacts and eyeglasses. He mentioned my contact lens prescription was too strong. No wonder my eyes were so fatigued. Once I had my new contact lenses I noticed immediately how much more comfortable they were. I wore them all day and never experienced any eye fatigue. My vision was much sharper than before too. I have mono-vision contacts and both eyes worked perfectly using the prescription from Dr. Hamann. Even at night! I am an extrememly satisfied customer. I purchased my eyeglasses at the optical center at Northwest Eye. That is where I met Mary Ann. She is very welcoming and she helped me find some really great eyeglasses. I usually have to try on many frames before finding the correct one. Mary Ann has great instincts for finding great frames. She even stayed late to place my order. She had other plans but was also eager to put her customer first. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated at Northwest Eye. I'm confident I now have the correct prescriptions for both contacts and eyeglasses. If you are looking for new eyeglasses and contacts I highly recommend this clinic. Dr. Hamann and Mary Ann in Optical are phenomenal resources.

I had double strabismus surgery with Dr Richard Freeman on Wed (Valentines Day) and it went amazing. Dr Freeman was fantastic and one of the finest Dr's I have met in a long time. He was kind, informative, helpful and the procedure went great. Also very importantly he was kind and informative to my wife and father in-law who I brought with me. I am able to see clearly now and drive and it hasnt even been 48 hours since the surgery was completed. He did both horizontal and vertical correction. LIR 2.5 Mersilene and BLR adj OD. 75 min WH, 67311-50, 67314-L, 67335, RBAIC, bilaterality, XT, RHT and RBAIC surgery. I would strongly suggest Dr Freeman to anyone who needs this surgery. I did do a follow-up Yesterday at his Maple Grove office and that went amazing also.

We visited the pediatric division. They were great. My 2 year old had never been to an eye doctor before, but everyone made him very comfortable. From the "pirate eye patch", to the movie playing in our room while we waited, they know how to get kids comfortable and get done what they need to. Would highly recommend this clinic for any parents.

1 star rating was given due to service needed was completed. Otherwise, one of the staff members was snobby. I have a 1 year old that acts just like a 1 YEAR old. Staff member looked at me funny and tried to make a sarcastic comment but I brushed it off and said I will not visit there anymore. I’ve never been through the process of getting prescription glasses and she didn’t even advise me of my next steps once the doctor said he was giving my son his prescription. I almost walked out without it (if I had not asked questions). So to say, I nor my kids will be back unless we get a better staff member to help us. Thanks for the unpleasant experience.

I took my daughter for a regular eye exam. I confirmed multiple times that the visit is only for regular eye exam. However they charged it as medical and insurance company put that as deductible for me. I arranged a conference call with the doctor's office and the insurance company. The insurance company is willing to pay the bill if the claim is made as routine. But the doctor's office is not willing to change the way it is billed (I guess the billing department is too lazy to correct their mistakes). The provider's office is very rude saying why did you come here if there is no medical reason, and criticizing you should have taken your daughter to target. Never go there. They won't care you.

My son has been a patient of Dr. P. for the past 5 years, beginning when he was diagnosed with strabismus at the age of 2. Dr P's care has been excellent from the time of diagnosis, all the way through his surgery and recovery. As a parent, knowing he was in the best hands possible for his surgery was so reassuring. Very knowledgeable and thorough doctor Freeman. He did an excellent job of explaining the issue and entire repair process. My issue is in trying to schedule surgery. I first called about ten minutes to five on Monday, listened to the hold music, and then at the magic hour of five o'clock, I was told to try another time. Again today, (11 AM) I'm not able to connect for scheduling surgery. I can't sit and wait for a return call, if today doesn't work, I'm done. I'm not trying again. Maybe I need to go elsewhere.

I’ve been a patient here for 10+ years and I absolutely love it. The doctors are amazing and Dr. P truly saved my eyesight when I was 10 years old, and she continues to do so even today. Today’s experience was a little odd though. A lady at the front desk was not very friendly during my check in. Then later as I sat in the waiting room I could hear her gossiping and complaining to her co-worker about other staff. It seemed very unprofessional. Other than today, I’ve basically grown up in this office and have had wonderful experiences with the staff and doctors.

Very dissatisfied. My wife went in for our daughters first checkup. Before the checkup my wife went through all of our insurance overages at the front desk and they determined we were covered. Then we receive a bill and telling us we are not covered. I call Northwest to discuss and all they say is "We told you we didn't take your insurance when you came in." I'm not sure if they have poorly trained employees, are confused or are just outright lying. Either way there is $500 that we shouldn't have to pay. I can't help but feel cheated. Are they that hard up for patients that the'll say anything to get you in the door. Frustrating...

i traveled over an hour in one direction. to see Dr P with my my two young children for their eye appts on Dec 10,2018. I fought traffic to arrive on time that AM to be told by the front desk that my appts were not in MG, but in Mtka! I never would have agreed to an appt In Minnetonka- this would have been an over 2 hr drive from my house without traffic. To make matters worse, no one offered an apology for the scheduling glitch and they proceeded to claim it was my fault. I showed them my text reminder - no location was listed, so how would I know there was an error? I had made the appt 2 months prior. Anyhow, I begged to be seen by another provider and was denied because all providers were too busy. The waiting room was packed. They then offered a time later that day during my daughter's nap time that wouldn't work- my 2 year old would not last waiting for a few more hours to be seen during nap time. This is not pediatric care. The woman at the front desk Made it seem like I was being unreasonable by not taking her up on this solution??! Then, I was told I would get a gas gift card to compensate for this error. I spoke with manager Nicole later that day on the phone. No one has sent me the gas card in the mail yet- so this makes me more upset because I see others have been given 25.00 dollar gift cards. They could have cared less of they got both of my kids business that day- which is infuriating because I could have gone elsewhere to use my benefit during the 2018 calendar year. The customer service provided to correct the error was lacking in my opinion.

Several months ago, I visited Dr. Parvataneni (aka Dr. P) to discuss my strabismus (in my case, double vision). She was so friendly and approachable, and after seeing several other eye doctors and therapists for opinions (and not being entirely satisfied), I immediately knew that she was the one I needed to see. She suggested a different twist on the surgery that I was looking into - one that was less invasive by adjusting a muscle differently - and I scheduled the surgery a couple days later. I had the surgery a week ago and could not be happier. She was extremely professional but happy to answer any questions and put me and my wife at ease. The surgery experience at Fairview Southdale went smoothly as well. A week later I'm almost completely recovered and have zero issues with double vision! In addition to Dr. P, I've had great experiences with all of the staff at Northwest Eye and would highly recommend them.

I had a strabismus repair with Dr. P. I really appreciated her friendly manner and thorough explanation of the procedure and my non-surgical options, and I feel like she really cares about me as a patient. The procedure itself could not have gone better. I spent several years squinting or closing one eye almost constantly so that I would not have double vision and so that I could do my work, which involves sitting at a computer almost all day, almost every day. Literally as soon as I woke up, all the double vision was gone. This has been life-changing for me and I can't thank Dr. P enough.

I have been bringing both of my children here for 6 years. I think this is a very high quality clinic. Dr. P. is so knowledgeable and great with my kids. I have never had the problems people have spoke about. I have had great customer service and have never had to wait. The most important thing to me is the level of expertise the doctors have. Being in health care myself I know the differences in skill that can vary from doctor to doctor. Dr. Parvataneni is highly skilled and very well regarded among other physicians in the same field. She knows her stuff and has done surgery on one of my children and has done countless exams on both of my children. I have also had a lot of experience with the optical store that is located within the clinic. Mary Ann and Shawn are always extremely helpful and very kind. I had a situation one time where my child's glasses broke and I needed to get a new pair quickly. I think we were going on vacation or something. Shawn helped me out with this and went above and beyond to make sure I had new glasses for my child so we could enjoy our vacation. I would highly recommend Northwest Eye Clinic in Maple Grove.

Was very disappointed. I waited 20 min for a technician who did my eye exam. In 50 years I've only ever had exams by doctors, never a technician. Then I was told to wait in the waiting room for the doctor. They called me back 5 min later, but I waited 50 minutes in the room for the doctor!! I saw him for about 5 min. I went out to order glasses and the frames I asked them to hold last week were not held and I had no idea what I'd picked out with my daughter's help. Glasses would have been almost $900 had I ordered them. Will NOT be going back. Will go back to Pearle in Eden Prairie.

I had a bit of a scare with my eyes recently and was quite concerned. I called Northwest Eye in the morning and they had me in by 9 AM. The entire staff was so accommodating and kind. I will say: my daughter has had an eye condition from the moment she was about 5 months (I noticed her eyes were crossing). She went through surgery, recovered well, we were billed properly for all of it. With that said, considering how many other folks have had issues with "routine" care, unless you need specialized care for yourself or your child? Save yourself the expense and aggravation and go elsewhere. You can receive really good care at any VisionWorld location (with an equally competent eye technician). If any eye technician can't correct your condition, contact your insurer--they will be happy to make a recommendation to an optician within your network that will be happy to treat you--assuming they're accepting new patients. I will say, we see Dr. Parvataneni there, and she's a very competent and caring optician for children. I highly recommend her.

We took our 3yo to be assessed by Dr. P. as we were seeking a new opinion on his eye's progress a year after surgery with a different clinic. After the assessment with Michelle, which was awesome, she really did a great job, we met Dr. P., and after her assessment, determined our son has a condition we never had mentioned to us with the previous provider. Dr. P. gave us clear explanations as well as an honest opinion of what our expectations should be for the future. We are very pleased with the knowledge and service we received.

Excellent care by Dr. Ramsey and staff at 3 clinic locations and their surgical facility. I trust my family's eye care here and refer friends also. My experiences have been with timely appointments and time taken to explain what is going on with my eye health. I had cataract surgery in both eyes almost 2 years ago and I am very grateful to Dr. Ramsey for his skill as an eye surgeon and caring personality for his patients. The surgery gave me back clear vision.

Dr. P is wonderful! Very patient and detail oriented. She is highly recommended and has a great reputation by many parents and other doctors. Her staff is friendly and most have been great with our kids. The only negative feedback is the children's waiting area. My 3 year old son asked if a movie on children's side can be turned on. I asked the lady at the front desk if she can put on a children's movie (it's always on every time we go) and she said "no". She said they only turn it on when there's a lot of children. I was a bit taken back and asked how many is a lot and she said 10-15. I disagree because it's been on when there's no one in that waiting area. I think that could have been handled differently.

I was expecting very complicated tests and procedures. What I experienced was just the opposite. The technician was very down to earth and friendly, willing to explain just what we were doing, The tests went well and were not pretentious. Nothing unnecessary was added to increase the cost of the session. I expected to be there a long time. The time was shorter then I expected, but I felt it was thorough and complete. I felt that my eyes were in good hands as it were. I'm confident that my new eyeglasses will be just what I need.

I was able to schedule without having to wait weeks for an appointment. My teenage child really liked Dr. Freeman. This was our second visit, first with this location. The first visit was in Golden Valley a year ago, this group was the first clinic to return my call and get us in within an hour of calling and leaving a voicemail for an eye injury. Great team of doctors!

Amazing place to bring your child. My son is on the autism spectrum, very high functioning and verbal but still has struggles especially with tasks that require time and patience. We originally took him to our regular eye clinic for an exam, that was fine but couldn't get very accurate results as he was losing interest and focus. They determined he might need glasses but couldn't be sure. He has been struggling to see the board at school so his school recommended we take him here because they have experience with kiddos on the spectrum both verbal and nonverbal and even though the process was long they managed to complete his eye exam and determine he does in fact need glasses and get an accurate prescription for him. I'm very impressed. They even managed to dilate his pupils without a struggle or meltdown! Highly recommend this clinic!

My parents both went to this Clinic group and the raves about the fantastic care. Now I too am going. My eye problems are completely different from any of my family but I knew I could trust them. Always pleasant staff. My Dr is patient, pleasant, explains everything where I can understand it. I totally recommend this medical clinic. I usually go to the Maple Grove clinic but I had a scary situation the other day with one of my eyes. I was able to see my regular Dr at another clinic instead of waiting till the next day to see him here. Very impressed they were able to get me right in and the entire staff was wonderful.

Clinic environment was kept nice n clean and the people in the back were patience n professional about the appointment but the front desk people weren’t the friendliest. Pretty uptight and no smile. Overall from technicians to the doctors were amazing. Update: can also say that fish tank needs to cleaned. My son couldn’t see the fishes so he put his face n hands right on the glass to see the fishes n the front desk lady yelled at him n said “you’re scaring the fishes” really?? The fishes are probably already scared in brown-black cloudy water.

I have been a patient at Northwest Eye Clinic since 1967. This is the only clinic that has cared for my eyes (even when I lived in Texas for 3 years I scheduled my exams on trips home). The staff has been consistently excellent. Dr. Walker is my current opthamalogist..has been for over 30 years. He performed my Lasik 20 years ago..the only doctor I will trust with my eyes. Soon, he do my cataract surgery. Dr. Walker has also treated two of my sons; one with a complicated topography to his eyes (an unusual condition) and the other after suffering a traumatic eye injury that could have left him blind. Even after all these years, Dr. Walker remembers me and my family members at every visit. Truly, I would recommend Dr. Walker, his staff and Northwest Eye Clinic 100%.
