Less than 1 star really. Had a horrible experience with Dr. Alrawi. Very rude and frankly disrespectful. Did not take the time to do a full exam at either of my two visits, both of which he spoke to me for less than 2 minutes. When I asked if he was always like this, the receptionist implied that it is pretty common. Never returning there.

My favorite optometrist, Kelly Tierney, left MVI, and when contacted, MVI pretended to not know where she went (SVS Vision in WATERFORD, MI). Ms. Tierney was the ONLY person at MI Vision Institute that I trusted not only with my vision, but also the vision of my child. The rest of the optometrists have bad reviews for completey valid reasons. It's well worth the drive to Waterford to see Ms. Tierney... it's more than worth the drive of you have children.

I just had my first general eye exam done here. I am a new patient and I had the worst experience EVER. I am 21 and I have never had my eyes dilated before. I am a person that worries about everything and I have very bad anxiety. I didn't even know I was having my eyes dilated until Dr. Labaza was putting multiple drops in my eyes. He did absolutely nothing to make me comfortable. I never once told me what he was doing (through any part of the exam for that matter) I though the drops were just regular eye drops and when they started to make my eyes feel weird, that's when I started having a panic attack. Not only did Dr. Labaza make me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcomed, he also would not stop asking me personal questions about my school and work life. Things that he absolutely did not need to know. He never once introduced himself but he had no problem openly judging me on what I'm going to school for. This made me feel bad about myself. If you choose to go here, do not go to Dr. Labaza!!!!!

I have never had an eye exam before until I saw Dr. Labaza today. He was rude and asked way too personal of questions. Judged my career and field of law I am in, and asked me why I wasn't married since I had a child. When I told him that I we had no plans to marry he became condescend and said that, "your baby deserves parents who have the same name." I left feeling uncomfortable and judged. I will never go back or recommend this office to anyone.

I’ve been going to this office for years. I don’t know what happened to the friendly and smiling receptionist from my previous visits but they need her back. When you’re in the health care field and working with the public it’s a certain way you should conduct yourself. Stank faces and eye rolling with patients is not the way you behave in any situation. I gave 2 stars because hopefully this was and will be an isolated incident.

I have a special needs daughter, so any doctor appt is challenging but the doctors and staff here were exceptional! I almost cried because of the way they treated us and reassured me. I absolutely, 100% would recommend them to anyone! Excellent!

After waiting 4 weeks to make an appointment and taking a day off to do so (as I normally work 6a-6p) my appointment took an outrageous 90 minutes. I can be patient, but Dr. Labaza insulted me by making a comment about how old I looked (ps, I'm 28). When I tried to buy new glasses, they made multiple mistakes running my insurance (wasting about another 30 minutes of my day, I never did end up getting those glasses...). After getting fit for some new contacts, they refused to write me a prescription until I had a follow up "contact fitting" appointment (I confirmed with other providers, this is not a routine part of eye care, and my insurance would charge me out of pocket for it). As if that wasn't enough, When I tried to call back and make this appointment, the follow up hours were restricted and I couldn't make an appointment with any other doctor. I am now stuck with a new prescription I can't fill. As a physician myself, I am fairly patient with other providers, however this was an incredible waste of time and money. If you are looking for an eye care provider in the Flint area, do not visit MVI.

I have been a patient here since I was 10 years old and I have never had an experience that wasn't amazing. The techs are so nice and I adore both Dr Stack and Dr Tierney. The optical shop has a great selection of designer frames of which I have purchased four pairs and contacts in the last three years due to the affordability and quality. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. I will continue going here for all my eye care needs.

Dr. Kelly Tierney is the best doctor I have had unfortunately she no longer works here, and the staff would not tell me where she went. Luckily I found where she is now working.she is currently practicing at SVS in Waterford and Wixom, well worth the drive.She is amazing with children and just a great all around doctor. She listens and really cares for her patients.

Full Disclosure: The receptionist was so rude that I ended up cancelling my appointment before I ever made it to the place. My husband called to make an appointment here as I needed new glasses and this place accepted our insurance. When looking at the website, he noticed that there were a lot of tests outside what I am used to. Because I have severe anxiety, he called to inquire about the tests and their invasiveness and to tell them about my anxiety. When he began to ask questions, the receptionist told him that maybe he should just go to Wal-Mart. He decided then that perhaps this was not going to be the place for a friendly and compassionate environment. We decided to cancel the appointment and go to a doctor that would have no trouble with answering questions or addressing concerns.

I have been a patient of both Dr. Stack & Dr. Tierney. I am thankful to have found eye doctors that really care about the patient and listens to concerns. Office and technical staff were amazing! Very professional and most thorough exam I've ever had!

Dr. Labaza has fit me with a pair of contact lenses that allow me to see! I suffer from corneal ectasia and finding contacts that fit and provides good vision is a challenge. It took several fittings and slight changes to the prescription, but he would not give up! I am now able to function normally!

I just finished my last eye exam after having Cataracts removed in both eyes and I just wanted to say that the staff from front door to the back were friendly, polite and very professional. I give 5 stars to both Dr. Stack & Dr. Tierney, both were excellent and I couldn't be more please with the whole process. Thank you all at Michigan Vision!!

I had the best experience with Dr Tierney and the entire staff here! From the time I walked in the door everyone I came in contact with a had a smile on their face and they were all very friendly. I would highly recommend this office.

Long waits, staff is extremely unfriendly. Went in for a contact lens fitting and they wanted me to agree to paying "$50-$150 could be more could be less" ummm...what ? I walked out. I'll go back to my previous eye Dr that can tell me what I'll be paying up front no surprises. The two ladies at the front desk were really unprofessional and disrespectful to people on the phone as well . I listened to many of their phone conversations during my hour wait (they told me when I scheduled my field vision test it's a quick in and out appt )

My 3 year old daughter has a dermoid cyst on her eye, she missed two appointments due to her insurance getting cancel. Well long story short we finally got her insurance activated again and when I called to make an appointment they informed me she is discarded from the practice due to missed appointments. They have since my daughter since birth.... So now I have to find a new doctor to treat my daughter. Absolutely unbelievable.
