I broke my foot and drove myself to the hospital, ask the gate guard for help getting a wheel chair and he says his walkie talkie doesn't work so I call the VA and ask for someone to bring me a wheelchair on the lower level since im by myself and they tell me they cant go that far...... really? You want me to crawl inside or just keep begging for help in the parking lot? Because 30minutes and still no help..... way to drop the ball on this one

I went there for a consult for Dupuytren's contracture on both hands. Both hands have been operated on before, but the doctor told me the right hand had never been operated on, but the scars are present! Told me he would have to cut off the little finger because he could straighten it! I had an earlier operation on that hand, it it was taken care of perfectly with no cutting off fingers! This is a recurring disease so it has to be done again, but not by this doctor! Am seeking outside referral ,to have this done again by the doctor done it the first time. What a joke!

This is one of the worst VA Hospitals in the country. Be prepared to WAIT. Even if you have an appointment, be prepared to wait until far past your appointment time. Often I have waited over 3 hours past my appointment time. A majority of the people (staff) here are condescending, lazy and rude. You would be FAR better off to go to the Ann Arbor VA. You served your country with honor and integrity. Do not tolerate these individuals treating you like some discarded piece of trash. Demand that they treat you with the honor and respect that you have earned! Maybe if enough Veterans stand up for their rights this hospital will improve. Until then, go somewhere else.

Scheduled for an MRI because they don't have anyone to do them in Northern Michigan, thanks Dr. Bates...SO the drive down from Traverse City to Detroit for a 0800 appointment...do the math...I was fatigued at arrival. When I checked in that went smooth. The staff was great, almost over coming the entire experience of the drive. Conducted the MRI, it is an OPEN style machine, bonus. Whole procedure took less than 40 minutes. Staff was great, even bringing me out my rosary I left in the changing locker, they ran down to the check out kiosk to get it to me. Dispite the rumors and reputation, I have no reason to give less than 5 stars....if I could give Saginaw zero stars for not allowing the MRI to be done locally I would..

I have been attending the VA in Detroit for 7 years and I have to say I love the VA, they take care of me and follow me to make sure I keep my appointments and I never spend more than an hour when I have an appointment. Love it

Entire staff is lazy an dont work for the veterans. They act like you're on their time. Like your not the reason they even have a job. Very slow. Getting them to do anything is like pulling teeth. They seriously need to fire everyone an hire an entire new staff. Everyone gotta go. Horrible attitudes. Even worse service to veterans.

If you value your health and dignity stay far away from here. It should be illegal to be this incompetent of a hospital. The staff is completely useless and ghetto. The doctors are the bottom of the barrel who can’t get a job anywhere else. I wait at least an hour past my scheduled appointment time without fail, the waiting room was 85 degrees because the AC wasnt working, and the sprinkler in the ceiling started leaking on me. I’d rather go $100k in debt for surgery than let any of these degenerates near me in an operating room.
