Great experience! My sisters have been here multiple times and have raved, so I tried them after getting new insurance. The medical staff was knowledgable, professional and personable. I did a combined visit with my daughter and my husband. My husband was taken back first and then they took myself and my daughter back simultaneously. When looking for glasses my family found theirs almost immediately. Me, on the other hand, not so much. I ended up leaving and coming back a few days later to look. Lindsay helped me and she was amazing!! The whole staff was amazing on the "shopping" side! As you can see, I went out of the box. I wasn't sure about the obnoxiousness of my glasses, but nothing else fit the bill. I went all around the store with two pairs and it was a blatant win. EVERYONE loved the obnoxious ones with me. Plus, I'm one of those people that want's the worst of the worst of your opinion. I'm talking the "people watching" opinion. Prices here are like any other glasses establishment; high. But if you've worn glasses for any substantial amount of time, you know they are an investment. Overall concessions: Great place! I will be returning in the upcoming years. *Update* 8/30/2019 I was noticing that my vision wasn't that great while at work while looking at the computer and writing. So, I went to my opthomologist, Dr. Charles Colombo in Rochester Hills. Anyway, I found that there was a rapid change in my vision in the last 4 months. I now have an astigmastsm in my right eye and need bifocals. When I spoke to the young lady at Dr. Colombo's office she said that it would cost $290 to replace my lenses; she suggested that I call Henry Ford OptimEyes to see if I could get a discount. When I called Henry Ford OptimEyes I spoke with a young lady (I wish I remembered everyone's name that helped me) and she put me on hold to speak to the manager. I was shocked when she came back and told me that they were going to replace my lenses for FREE! Talk about amazing!! They were even willing to add the bifocal without a cost to me!! I did end up spending $137 on the glasses, however. I changed the lenses from the polycarbonate to the High Index and changed the bifocal from the Ideal Advantage (good) to the Varilux Physio W3P+ (best). So, they still covered the expense they promised, I just had to pay the difference for the upgrades that I chose. OMG!! Absolutely amazing, wonderful service!!!!!! I am so glad I came to this establishment! If I could give them 6 stars or more I would.

I have been going to the Optimeyes company for 17 years. I usually go to the Roseville location but this time I needed an earlier appointment then what they could give me so I settled for the Sterling Heights location.... I actually loved the building and everyone was amazing from the staff to the doctor. The only problem I had, was when it was time for me to pick out a pair of glasses I felt pressured to make a quick decision. I did not like or appreciate that. I ended up grabbing a pair that I thought was okay but in the end I am not satisfied with my choice. I have a high prescription so my lens are super expensive and I feel like I may have wasted hundreds of dollars on something I’m not completely happy with. Overall great place, just don’t give into making a quick decision for something that is extremely costly and something you will wear for years.

I had a very pleasant experience at the Henry Ford optimEye center yesterday. It was my first time at this location and back after trying other companies to save money. I had an appointment and everyone was ready for me when I arrived. Everyone was really nice and seemed very knowledgeable in their department. The doctor I see is great. I used to visit him at the Gratiot location. When I was fitted for my contacts the lady said here is your right here is your left. Try then out! I was lost because this was my first time trying contacts. I’m not sure how she missed the Doc telling her this. After I struggled to get them in she then asked how long have I had contacts that’s when intold her this is my first time. She then proceeded to say oh that means I need to do a little class with you. Which was basically her trying to talk me through getting them in. Eventually I got them in. She had me read off some things to her. I got a lot wrong but she did not show any concern took my money and sent me on my way. I could she a little better but my sight was not as clear as it should be. Doc did mention that these contacts may or may not work. And if they didn’t that I should go with a different type. However the tech even after observing that I could not see clearly she made no attempts to make sure I was comfortable. Just said to try them for a week. But this is a problem because I can’t see. This is a problem. Terrible customer Service. I called to figure out what I could do and was told they would call me back. I’m still waiting. Update I ended up calling back because they never called me back. Stacey was not helpful. She wanted me to schedule another appointment. The manager was useless and disrespectful. She kept cutting me off every time I tried to explain the issue. Please steer clear of this place. I work in customer service as at the management level I have zero tolerance for the lack of customer service provided. Quick to take your money and no care in the world if you are good or not. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN. Once I see doctor Herbart to get this resolved I am done with optimeyes. I will take my business elsewhere.

I was there for my annual eye exam in August. My co-pay was $5.00. I paid it in cash, and the person at the counter asked me if I needed a receipt. I said, "no". BIG MISTAKE. Two months later, I got a bill in the mail for $5.00. I called Optimeyes and spoke with two different people, explaining to them what had happened. They said they would look into it and get back with me. November comes, and so does another bill for $5.00. I called again, explained what happened again, this time to three different people. I was told that the supervisor would take a look and get back with me. Well, guess what ? December comes, along with another bill for $5.00, with a threat to turn my account over to a collection agency. Whatever happened to customer service ? They could easily waive the $5.00, chalk it up to clerical error for not entering my payment into the computer, and move on. But they are not willing to do that. I'm furious. It's not the money, it's the principle. It's a terrible way to do business.

Me and my sister had an excellent experience here, everyone was very patient and helpful. we had arrived late (due to traffic and having gone to the wrong location) when we arrived at the location, we checked-in and went to the waiting room, we did not have to wait long before our names were called, after we took two vision test we were lead to another waiting room, where we again did not have a long wait, we were brought to an exam room, and tested before we had our eyes dilated, then after the dilation set in we were tested again and we got our prescriptions, after this we were immediately able to pick out frames, the assistant who helped us do this, made it quick an easy to choose a frame that we liked, once we had chosen our frames we had our measurements taken, and were able to get affordable prices for our new glasses, over all the services here are great and we have had no issues so far, I would consider this the fastest and the best services I have ever had when we have gone to get our eyes tested. Waited over and hour for 2 pediatric appointments, scheduled over 2 weeks ahead of time. At the time of scheduling, we were told the schedule was completely open. We were given excuses and kept getting updates that it wouldn’t be much longer, but it always was. We were told there was a difficult patient “earlier”, but the office didn’t bother to call to let us know or to reschedule or come later. Make sure to plan on a 1.5-2 hour visit for a simple eye exam, or better yet, make an appointment elsewhere.

I had a scare with my vision last week. I woke up one morning and everything was blurry. After calling many eye shops in the area. Henry Ford asked questions and realized that I may need to be seen immediately. They saw me the same day and were amazing. The Doctoe took time to make sure I understood everything. Nothing was medically wrong, but I needed to get glasses. I had never gotten them before and the Opticians at Henry Ford helped walk me through it. The glasses came in within 4 days and when there was an issue, they corrected it no questions asked. They bent over backwards to make sure I was happy with my purchase. They were great with my kids. I have signed them up for appointments tomorrow and am confident they will take good care of them. Overall, I felt appreciated, well taken care of, and the team was professional in every way. Our family will be back for our eye care needs in the future.

I have gone to other OpimEyes locations and had great service, so I decided to check out this location, as it is closer to my work. I should have stuck with the Gratiot location. The woman helping me find my frames was very condescending. When I mentioned I did not want anything too crazy colorful because of my work environment, she turned to my mom and said "oh, she's a professional you know." She became pretty impatient after I didn't find any frames I loved in the first tray of 6 glasses she brought me and when I asked if there were any different styles/shapes she would reccomend, based on her experience, she said "I did, in that tray." I would completely understand her desire to finish up quickly if it was busy, but there was not anyone waiting to be helped. I would not reccomend this location and I will not be back.

I was able to get an appointment quickly, friendly staff, great service. Glasses came in within 3 days even though I was told it may take up to 14 days. Very happy- definitely will go back there next time !!

Pros: Kind doctor, provided excellent care. Cons: This location or maybe the organization as-a-whole seems to prioritize on dealing with the insurance company over customer care. This may be due to too many organizational layers but I’m not sure. For example, I think they have a central billing as well as billing at this office, which is going to cause confusion for you, the patient-customer. It’s difficult getting a timely response even though some people have email addresses. I had an eye exam in October ’18 and I couldn’t get a CL fitting done until early January due to scheduling. I was worried about my insurance credit expiring. I asked if my insurance would still cover the contacts before the CL fitting appointment was made and someone there said it would since the authorization was made in the year of coverage. Sounded good to me! Especially since the authorization for medically necessary scleral contacts is no small trivial amount financially. I think it’s close to a thousand dollars! Unfortunately, the doctor couldn’t fit me with scleral lenses as he had hoped so he prescribed me different lenses. I didn’t mind, the new lenses were much easier to get in. They returned the money to the insurance for the scleral lenses and I ended up not being able to get contacts. I’m sure the expiry of end-of-year insurance credits is a more widespread problem, but I feel like HF OptimEyes could do a better job at customer-care. I felt unimportant and kind of trivial in their process.

We just visited Dr. Tuchowski over the weekend, who specializes in pediatric optometry, and was super impressed with the time and patience she took with our girls (2 and 4). Even though it was a drive for us, it was worth it! Would recommend :-)
