THIS SHOULD BE 5 STARS!!!!! I just wanna make it clear Fowle Eye Care Staff and Building is 5 Stars all the time. It's the place they get there lenses from that have me so mad!!! On this round of glasses I am waiting on my third lense for replacement!!! I understand this has nothing to do with the immediate staff at Fowle Eye Care. But I need my new glasses. I suffer from migraines and it sucks not having the right glasses. The sunglasses I ordered previously ended up cracking in the corner about 2 months after I got them. I tried to get them replaced and was told I couldn't. In starting to think the place that make the lenses for Fowle Eye Care sucks. I have been a Very very loyal customer to Fowle Eye Care and don't wanna leave but I can't keep waiting for lenses. Please what can be done???? I love Fowle Eye Care!!!

What an incredible experience from start to finish. Had an initial eye exam that determined I was in need of a prescription lens. The Dr and staff were awesome. They explained the process, helped me select frame and spent time going over options that you don't receive at corporate owned stores. I’ve been a patient here for a few years now. Everyone at the practice has been wonderful! Now I bring my 7 year old son here and they are just as fantastic with him. They are also extremely patient with him which is huge for a child! Highly recommend!

Nice Enough - Fine Print Issue; that is, my wife went in for a completely covered (insurance) visit for a standard exam (Fowle due to listed on current insurance). My wife has congenital cataracts; not a big deal, compensated for with prescription contacts for years. Exam is finished--not by Dr. Dr. comes in, talks to her about cataracts; nothing new here of course. We get an invoice. Why? Because, unknown to us, as soon as the Dr. comes in and says "cataract" and discusses them, they invoice it as a medical consultation (one that lasts 3 minutes for $200 or so). An invoice we will now pay out of pocket. Hmmmm...nice work if you can get it. So we go to InFocus Eye Care in Rockford and have a consult for a second opinion (we'll pay, we know). He spends 30 minutes with my wife, does a full eye exam and GIVES her a set of contacts to test some theories...$78. Seriously? The kicker is that when we questioned this situation at Fowle, all they did was literally argue; basically...tough luck...too bad...sorry about that. "We should have told you beforehand." No kidding. No resolution. Interesting is all...I'm sure they are nice people and do good things...we just didn't get that side of it. It happens. If you are going in for anything that won't be perfectly standard, you might want to ask a few extra questions is all I'm suggesting here.

Both Dr Gary and Andy Fowle and their staff are great. They are always friendly and make you feel comfortable. I've gone to Fowle Eye Care since I was a kid and still go to them today.
