My Daughter had gone to D'ambrosio Eye Care and it was time for me to go for a check-up because of my diabetes. I went June 2014 and the Female Dr. I saw was excellent and everything seemed OK. I had wanted a new prescription because I got headaches, but they said what I had was good enough, and they'd check again in a year.
Fast Forward to Feb 2015. I was having trouble with my vision. Things were going blurry randomly and I was becoming afraid to drive. Plus, I felt sensitive to light and thought something wasn't right, so I made an appointment.
They took me in on a Saturday. I mentioned my issues and that I'd also like to get a prescription for bifocals as I felt that was the cause of some of my constant headaches. Well, the staff was light and the people there seemed a bit arrogant and didn't even listen to what I was saying.
I was given a cursory eye exam, nothing in-depth that would be used for filling a prescription and another test. In the end I was told I had dry eyes and was given a prescription for Restasis? $370.00?? I didn't have the insurance to cover that, and I did not feel I had dry eyes.
I walked out without a prescription for glasses and was never given a reason for my blurred vision.
A week after my visit I temporarily lost partial vision in my left eye. What ever I had was progressing, but these people THOUGHT they new what they were doing and didn't even listen to me, or look for a related issue. Never gave me any ideas, or how I should follow-up if it re-occurred. To me, the staff I dealt with that day were arrogant and clueless.
I ended up going to my GP who sent me for some other tests and referred me to a DIFFERENT optometrist. Maybe if I had gotten the same Dr. I had the first time, who seemed very competent, things would have gone better. But I won't ever go back there with a chance of seeing the arrogant, incompetent ones again.
