Overall great experience, from the initial consult to the day of surgery and follow ups after. Very informative, explain the process , how it can work for you, etc. I would recommend them highly to anyone thinking of having lasik done!

Matthew Nordberg

I needed fast as I only had a limited amount of time to get my operation and recovery done in. I had my consultation and was having my surgery the next Friday (probably would have been sooner if the cornea scanner was working). I was in and out within an hour and a half on Friday. The doctors and nurses were friendly, virtually everybody I talked to gave me their contact information in case I had questions or issues. My only real critique would be that during the actual surgery they give you a stuffed animal to squeeze and I started worrying that I would tear it (which I guess is good because I wasn't worrying about my eyes) so maybe something firmer to squeeze? Would recommend

Boston Eye Group provided me with a awesome experience. Everything was detailed and professional from start to finish. I had been to a few different lasik consults and Boston Eye definitely had the most extensive testing to make sure I was a proper candidate for lasik. I even had a pre-op appt so I could meet with the surgeon and he could do his own exam prior to surgery. They made me feel comfortable even when I was extremely nervous on surgery day. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants lasik. Best of all, no more glasses!

I just had my Lasik surgery performed 2 weeks ago. I had a consult on Tuesday and then the surgery was performed on Friday. My appointment was just after lunch, and I was so busy at work trying to get everything done that I forgot to eat! But when I got there, they had food set out! It was a total life saver. The flap cutting procedure was a little less pleasant than anticipated, but overall it all went well. And I got to hug a stuffed sloth... I had a follow up the next day and was already seeing 20/20.

I had PRK 6 days ago. The day of the procedure went well. Everything went smoothly and was relatively quick and painless. However, with that meant that I never actually saw my surgeon on that day. You're brought into the surgery room and immediately laid down on the bed and one eye covered, there isn't even time to look around and see who is there or take in where you are. Then after they immediately move you out to get the next patient in. It would have been nice to have some time to take in the room and maybe even have a quick word with the surgeon. Also, I had a lot of problems with the prescriptions they sent in. The instructions sent to the pharmacy didn't match the instructions given to me the day of the surgery, so I ran out before my pharmacy was approved to dispense more from my insurance. However, more importantly, the original prescription wasn't even enough to last for the entire duration of how long I am supposed to take the drops so I ended up having to pay two extra co-pays that, had they written the prescription differently I wouldn't have had to pay. They ask you to bring your drops with you to the day of the surgery, but the tech never checked to make sure the quantities were appropriate. Overall, I would recommend this place to others, however, it wasn't perfect.

My Brother and I got LASIK here together. The entire process was extremely fast and professional. Healing is quick and in office appointments were always faster than expected. I went in for a free consultation on a Wednesday, and the following Friday was getting LASIK. My prescription for glasses was -200, and by the morning after surgery I was seeing 20/15, better than I ever expected. I cannot recommend this place enough, the change in vision is life changing.

Diep Huynh

Staff is professional and friendly. They will guide you through every step carefully. I had a great experience there.

Eric Robbie

I had the PRK surgery, I am now two weeks removed from surgery with no complications and amazing vision. Boston Laser, and in particular Dr. Melki, were an excellent team, answered all my questions and concerns, were efficient in responding to me, and made the process as simple as possible. Highly recommended.

Everyone is nice and friendly. The whole experience seemed to be routine for them, which brought me comfort. Knowing they do these procedures often made me less worried. I was in and out and not sitting around. I definitely would reccomend them.

Steve Mathieu

Good place to get LASIK. After the first surgery left me still having a prescription, the enhancement surgery they performed was able to correct it only three months later. During that time they gave me free contacts and glasses to wear while I awaited the "touch-up" surgery.

Kevin Liu

Amazing staff and an incredible experience. Been wearing glasses for 24 years, and now I'm finally glasses free. A truly life changing event. Thank you!

Meisang Hong

The staff are very polite and professional. The time and the procedure are very quick and easy. The doctors are skilled at what they do. Most importantly, the information that they provided are very easy to understand. The paperwork is very quick and easy. Everything at Boston Laser was very quick and easy for me. I'm glad that my friend told me about this place.

I had my lasik surgery in Feb. and I am very happy w/ the results and the experience at Boston Laser. My only complaint was the parking! (haha) But if you are having lasik surgery, I would recommend them. Great experience

Background info: combat athlete with horrendous nearsightedness (contact prescription was -5.50 in one eye and -5.25 in the other) and an astigmatism in one eye. Didn't qualify for Lasik because Lasik weakens the cornea and physical contact can rip it off, but wanted PRK to begin with, since PRK also doesn't have any risk of corneal infections. I got PRK over a year ago—while the appointment itself where I was talking with Dr. Melki seemed a bit uninformed and short, as well as not terribly welcoming (I had done a ton of research beforehand and I ended up not being told very much about the procedure or otherwise; luckily I already knew the answers to most questions I had), the surgery itself was very quick, incredibly easy, and surprisingly painless. The surgical assistants and nurses were wonderful; all staff other than the Dr was wonderful. I *would* recommend that Dr. Melki be a bit more engaged and informative with his patients, since, had I gone in there not knowing anything, I would have come out of there not being given a lot of valuable information. While i was confident in my decision from my own research, HE did not make me feel more confident about it, which wasn't great. Overall, I'd rather a very good surgeon over someone with a great bedside manner, and he absolutely knows what he's doing, but I do think he may not have as many patients feeling very confident in his abilities if he doesn't offer more verbally thorough exams. I think other doctors might be better for people who are unsure or uncomfortable about going in for surgery. Follow-up exams with the assistants were easy, instructions on post-surgery care were accurate, and overall, great experience. FANTASTIC investment. I would absolutely go back if I needed to have any revision work done in the future (though let's cross our fingers my eyeballs say 20/20, though!).

Boston Laser was extremely professional and thoughtful during my lasik procedure. I highly recommend them

Diana Rossoni

Very responsive to my questions, calls, emails. Very efficient with time during visits and thorough with explanations! I felt comfortable getting my LASIK/PRK surgery here and am going through a smooth recovery.

Doug Landry

After 3 surgeries and about a dozen follow up appointments, I am now seeing 20/20! I had a -7.00 Rx, plus bad astigmatism and thin cornea, and so I needed to get Visian ICL and then wait 3 months for the eyes to fully heal before for a LASIK touch up to correct the astigmatism. It was well worth it. I had a million questions along the way, but the staff was always able to help provide timely answers. Well worth the time and effort, highly recommended eye surgeon!

susan feinstein Boston

The quality of the care and the support staff is poor. I brought my son for a visit for headaches and eye pain and they charged me for an uncovered yearly exam because it was a higher billing rate. Despite my complaints and the fact giving my son a new prescription did not reduce his headaches or change his eye problems the staff would not correct the billing problem. The ophthalmologist he saw was Macie Finkelstein, MD. I would not recommend her or the practice.

I know a lot of people have a hard time deciding on where to do Lasik. I was in the same boat. We all want the "best" place to do a procedure this important. Objectively I can't say if this is the "best" place or not, but I can say that I am glad with my decision to go here. They did extensive, free testing of my eyes before the surgery and clearly outlined the risks and potential complications. I felt well-informed throughout the process. The surgery took 10 minutes and I could see well by the end of the day, and was enjoying an art museum a day after that. I'm currently four days after surgery and back at work on a normal schedule. My eyesight is crisp and I feel like I'm seeing better than with my glasses, even! I got the waveform Lasik (completely bladeless) to correct severe myopia, and I would recommend it if you're eligible. If you were referred by someone else be sure to mention their name... the pricematch offer might save you a lot of money on your procedure.

Kris David

Awesome Dr. Melki and his staff were very efficient and thorough. They put you through a group of exams to make sure you qualify for Lasik and after that you can decide on when /if you want to schedule the procedure. They will provide you with a packet of reading materials that will answer most of your questions. I had a question the week prior to my procedure and Dr. Melki called me on my cell phone to answer my question on Mono-Vision. The actual procedure was quicker than i thought and there was no pain at all and quick recovery. I had no gritty or dry eyes the day after. My distance vision is the way it was , but now I don't need glasses. I can read and see my phone, but for close up or extended reading, I am using readers ( anyone over the age of 40 can understand this). Parking at the Brookline location can be a challenge with only on street meter parking available, but worth it for the outcome and using Boston Laser.

Sofia Lingos

I just wish I had done it sooner! This is not a cosmetic surgery. It is a life changing procedure that completely improves quality of life. I was a little apprehensive in theory as I thought maybe contacts and glasses were not that bad ... From the moment you walk in to Boston Laser their welcoming atmosphere and staff put you at ease, and upon meeting Dr. Melki I was quickly reassured by the statistical success, his level of professionalism, bedside manner and experience. He took time to answer all of my questions until I felt comfortable proceeding (or declining - he made it clear the choice was mine). The actual procedure itself is unbelievably fast. There is a little prep time the morning of but you are in and out of the surgical suite in less than 5 minutes. It is completely painless. As soon as he was done I could see. I was shocked. I went home and took a rest and when I awoke I had 20/15 vision. Recovery entails protecting your eyes for a few more days while sleeping so you don't rub them unconsciously. Now a few months out, I almost take it for granted , but the reality is I can't remember ever seeing the world so clearly. Sometimes its' just the little things like being able to read the TV Guide from bed, seeing more distinct colors in a flower, or not running out of contacts on vacation, but being able to wake up every day, open my eyes and really see in invaluable. Thank you Dr. Melki and Boston Laser!

Emma Rallis

My vision has gotten just a little worse every year for the past 15 years. It finally stabilized over the last two years but I still needed to wear either contacts or glasses to see anything further than my hand. I was sick of having to touch my eyes everyday with contacts and I didn't like bringing my glasses with me everywhere. I was really nervous about the procedure - like I said I was sick of my eyes being touched but I figured that if I could let Dr. Melki perform this 12 minute procedure, then I would never have to touch my eyes again. It was well worth it. I entered the procedure room and the staff gave my constant direction. They told me exactly what to expect while everything was happening. Just as the procedure began and my vision became blurry, I was told to expect my vision to go blurry, but that it will come back shortly. This happened exactly the way they said it would, which was very comforting. I knew that I was in good hands and that I could trust the staff. The procedure felt like it was completed in well under 12 minutes. Dr. Melki had told me exactly what to expect with recovery. I did experience pain similar to that of headache for the first hour or two. When I got home, I slept until the evening. When I woke up, I could see with perfect vision and the pain was gone. I stuck to the regime of eye drops in the following days and had no issues. I will say that my eyes were bloodshot for about 5 days, but there was no pain, it just looked painful. The staff made me feel like they knew what they were doing and they were able to quickly gain my trust. They respected my time and never left me waiting during any appointments. I would highly recommend Boston Laser for vision correction surgery.

The best decision I’ve made! I had my lasik surgery with Dr. Brenner about a month ago and my vision now is perfect. From the initial lasik consultation, procedure and post lasik visits I always have a good experiences with Dr. and staffs, everyone is always so friendly and helpful. The procedure is quick and no pain at all, after surgery I went home and took about 4hours nap and I woke up with crystal clear vision! I totally recommend Boston Laser-Boston Eye Group for your experience and a better vision.

I was recommended to go to Boston Laser from a friend who happens to be an Eye Doctor. He told me all about Dr Melki and how he was so happy with his whole Lasik experience. Well he was absolutely right.!!! I went for my consultation in November and had my treatment done on Feb 14, 2014. The staff at Boston Laser are great: they make you feel so comfortable. Any question I had before, during, and after my treatment was always answered promptly. Dr Melki, Rick Young, Rachel, Dr V, and the rest of the staff are very professional. I'm so glad I did my treatment there. I love having my distance vision back !!! Thanks Dr Melki and Boston Laser.

Matt Ingel

I had a great experience here. Everything was explained very thoroughly and the procedure was a great success. Can't ask for anything more!

I got PRK on Friday. Today is Tuesday, so it's been four days. My vision is still blurry as expected, but it's getting better everyday. The assistants and doctor (Brenner) I interacted with were all great. The fellow has had a tired energy the two times I've interacted with her, but I think she's doing a fine job. It's easy to reach out to them if you have a question (they give you your doctor's cell as well as Dr. Melki's, though I didn't use them). There's an online patient portal that you can use to e-mail your questions; I used this once after my evaluation to ask Dr. Brenner a question, and he responded the next day. It's not like they provide a very personal service; it feels like a place where they try to do as many procedures as they can since it brings in money, but not to the point that they will be careless with your care. I think they did a good job with my eyes; I'm not fully healed, but I'm healing more and progressing everyday. My PRK procedure ended up costing $4900 ($1000-off promotion for the start of the year) with an optional $495 lifetime insurance, which I was told that 70% of people opt to get. Only 3% of people need touch-ups, which is included in the initial cost. Their website has a good Q&A section where Dr. Melki has answered lots of questions. They also give you some reading material at your free evaluation. I appreciate that they try to educate their patients. On the day of my procedure, they gave me written instructions for my eye drops (which I couldn't read too well for two days afterward - just a heads-up to plan ahead), some ill-fitting sunglasses, and a Boston Laser t-shirt. During the procedure, I was given a choice of holding an elephant or a sloth stuffed animal (I chose both!). The procedure lasted about 12 minutes. It's not cheap, but paying a lot of money makes me feel like I'm using a quality service?? They're also affiliated with MEEI and have fellows working there, so it's in their interest to provide good service and protect their reputation. I've had a good (albeit short) experience with them so far! Disclosure: I have an extra incentive to leave a review because when you write a review, you get entered into a drawing to win $150 toward a pair of sunglasses (which I don't have because I've always worn eyeglasses, so I didn't really wear sunglasses over them). But that didn't affect the kind of rating/review I gave.

Matthew Conlon

Extremely professional from start to finish and could not be happier with my results. I had wanted to get this done for the past 10 years but waited until I found a place that I felt very comfortable with their reputation and quality of service. Would definitely recommend this practice.

I’m so happy I got LASIK! It’s a great feeling to see without corrective lenses! The staff is amazing and very professional! I wish I got this done years ago but so happy to finally get it done! Get it done, you’ll be so happy you did!

Just had the procedure yesterday and my follow up today. Already seeing better and everyone at the Brookline location has been been friendly and easy to talk with. UPDATE: on my second follow up a few days after the procedure and every day the vision comes a little clearer into focus. Everybody’s been professional and all of the steps explained. The first hour or so following lasik is the toughest and after that it’s been all downhill. The simplest tasks, like seeing your alarm clock when you wake up or not having the extra step of taking out contacts right before been has already been a little bonus to start and end my days and I’m sure it only gets better from here!

Boston Laser has exceeded all my expectations, prescreened on a Wednesday, both eyes done the following Friday. The prescreening was extremely thorough. Every question I had about the prescreening, procedure and scheduling was answered. They made sure I knew exactly what I should expect of my vision after surgery and any lifestyle changes I needed to make. Doctor Melki was clear and consise about the procedure and my prescreen results. Everyone in the office treated me with respect and professionally. I have been recommending my family and friends to Boston Laser. My twin brother is even flying up from Miami to be prescreened and scheduled with Boston Laser, he wants the same experience I've had.

The staff was very open and honest during my free consultation. They were not at all pushy with their salesmanship which I very much appreciated. My biggest concern as far as side effects was dry eyes and discomfort. I couldn’t believe how smoothly the procedure went and how comfortable my eyes felt after my 4 hour nap post surgery. Such an amazing feeling to walk around without glasses and have crystal clear vision. Incredible happy with the results and to have experienced no side effects so far. So glad I went through with the procedure. Major thank you to Dr. Brenner and the staff for doing an excellent job.

I continue to have the best experiences at Boston Laser, Dr. Finkelstein is my doctor and she is wonderful. I just had an emergency eye infection, they were wonderful to immediately schedule me in and took care of me right away. Really good people, I trust them implicitly with my eye care and am very grateful to have found them.

I had a great experience with doctors and nurses at Boston Laser. My friend refered this place to me. I was so nervous about getting my lasik surgery. I went to a free consultation and I decided to do it. I was able to see clearly right after my surgery. Thank you to everyone! The follow up appointments went very well. They took care of me. I refered my friend here and he did it too. He also had great experience!

I have a complicated prescription for vision correction. The optometrists At Boston eye group have always worked hard to get me the best possible vision. They are always willing to tweak the prescription without complaints. Other eye specialists have not wanted to deal with such a complicated prescription . I recommend them highly .

This truly is a life-changing surgery I’ve worn glasses since i was in the 8th grade (12 yrs old) now 26 and I couldn’t be any happier. I see 20/20 now. No more glasses! Dr. Brenner and the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you

I had the PRK surgery, I am now one week from surgery with no complications and amazing vision. Boston Laser are an excellent team, answered all my questions and concerns, were efficient in responding to me, and made the process as simple as possible. I recently got LASIK done at the Andover location and it was amazing. The staff was warm and welcoming and the process was smooth and simple. They did an amazing job handling my anxiety and making me feel comfortable. This is the best decision I have ever made!

Ingrid Rosa Ramirez

AMAZING! Almost a year has gone by since my surgery with Dr. Melki and I couldn't be more pleased. Let me start by saying that I am very happy to have found Boston Laser as I had already been evaluated at another Lasik center in NY. I knew that I should get a second opinion and I followed my "gut". As it turns out, I made the right choice. It is always important to find out what your options are and Lasik may be just one of them, this was my case. I had a significant prescription and after being evaluated by Dr.Melki I was told that Lasik was not the best option and that in fact, he would not perform it as my results would not be as successful as someone with a lower prescription. There is no use in getting your vision corrected if the results aren't going to be 100%. I respect that Dr. Melki was honest and also surprised that I still had the option to get another procedure; I was a good candidate for Visian ICL; an implantable contact lens. Dr. Melki explained the procedure and risks. (At the other Lasik center in NY I was never given any other option to correct my eyesight) I had my surgery April 2012 (right eye) and May 2012 (left eye) and it's been great. I was able to see immediately after the procedure. Dr. Melki, Dr.Felix and the rest of the team were amazing. Everyone's experience is different and there are always side effects that should be taken into consideration, however, I always felt I was in safe hands and I am extremely happy with the results! :-)

I have been blind in my left eye for 2 years due to Dr. Frank Sutula's negligence. I suffer nightmares and constant anxiety. Please do your homework when choosing any doctor.

Getting Lasik at Boston Laser is an impersonal but professional experience. They do tons of surgeries and keep things moving along quickly, so it felt a bit like being in a Lasik factory - they whisk you in and out of various rooms - but everyone I interacted with was perfectly pleasant, and I trusted them to do a good job with the surgery.

Dr. Samir Melki and staff were professional and courteous during my LASIK consultation visit. The office is clean and organized. My experience was overall positive.

I have been living with glasses since i was 7years old, to finally be free of that restriction has been wonderful, it has only been a few weeks but already the best decision i have ever made. The staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend this business to anyone looking to stop their dependency on glasses and contacts.

Professional, successful LASIK procedure. Likely the best practice in Boston. Edit: Returned for a 1-year follow-up. Very disappointing experience. Waited 25 minutes to see a tech, who was quite annoyed/terse with me. I still have nighttime starbursts due to the LASIK procedure, but no suggestions were given for treating this during my follow-up. There is no benefit for LASIK patients to visit this practice for a routine eye exam, despite what this practice seems to suggest in their LASIK handouts.

Samy Belhadj

Care provided were good, which is normal and what I expected. Then start the troubles. They tried to charge me twice for the same care. It took me 4 months, dozens of call to have them admit this was a mistake. When you call billing department they have no idea of the care provided, and when you call an office nobody agree to listen to you. I have spent more then 3 hours in total on the phone to have them admit that having two annual visits in the same week is not normal ! Did they apologize for their mistake and the time lost ? ...mmmm....nope...

Got a PRK procedure done on 6/28 by Dr. Brenner. Highly recommended! The actual procedure did not take long--the part with the laser took seconds. The challenging portion is the recovery, although it has to be said that every person's experience and timeline is different. During the first week I could feel the surface of the eye is healing as expected. However, during weeks 3 and 4 I was dealing with haziness in my vision caused by excessive dry eye that proved challenging for work and eye drops barely had any impact. I went back into Boston Laser right away and the doctor assessed the eyes, assured that everything was normal, and inserted something to block the tear ducts to help the eyes retain moisture which definitely improved the situation somewhat. From week 5 onward my vision has steadily improved. After 1 month I was at 20/20 and still recovering. My suggestion would be to definitely do research beforehand (especially for PRK), and expect there to be moments when the road to recovery gets a bit rocky, but it will smooth out sooner than you think!

George T

I would just like to say that I had a great experience at Boston Laser. The process was all smooth with no unexpected surprises. I had some concerns going in especially since this would be my first ever surgery; however, all those concerns were pointless. It's a miracle that I wake up now and have flawless vision. I hopefully never have to deal with all the annoyances of glasses for a very long time. I would totally recommend getting LASIK with Boston Laser. Some background about me is that I am 22 and have been wearing glasses for almost 10 years. My prescription has been study for the past 2 years meaning I make for a better candidate. After getting my free consult I booked surgery and they ran through the entire procedure from start to finish. Dr. Melki and his fellow performed the surgery and I was in and out in 15min for both eyes. Sat in a dark room with eyes closed for 30min, got my vision checked, slept for 4 hours, put the assigned amount of drops then went to bed. Next day I continued drop regiment and no complaints. Went for the f/u check and no issues. I am on day four of recovery and I feel great. Also, I think I am lucky because al the issues like halos and sandy eyes which may occur after surgery never happened to me. So bottom line is don't be afraid, don't wait, go and get LASIK! Your eyes are worth every dollar, so try not to make finance an issue. Good luck!

Phill M156

Great place for your vision enhancements. I did the PRK lasik because in my profession I cannot chance having a cornea detachment from an impact & I can have readjustment years later(not with lasik flap). Once the laser cuts a flap, part of the cornea does not heal over, leading to passibillity of a detachment from an impact. Not so with PRK. Only draw back was the extended recovery time (1 week). 1st 3 days was very uncomfortable with very sensitive eyes even when closed. I cannot over emphasize the importance of artificial tears. Only thing is that they did not emphasize the importance of heated eye compress has on recovery. First 3 days I heat treated my eyes 4 times a day, 30 min each time. Helped immensely with releaving raw achy feeling. Took an entire week for 80% vision, and 1 month for 100%.

Once I knew I wanted LASIK, I actually went to 3 different clinics to do some research and actually chose Boston Laser based on their reviews, their financing options and how comfortable I felt in their office. Naturally all consultations take time, each place does different tests, but at a separate LASIK clinic location I was in their office for 3.5-4 hours and when I decided to leave without paying a guaranteed surgery day deposit because I wanted to discuss the finances with my husband, they were pushy. Boston Laser is the exact opposite. My consultation was quick, comfortable and informative. The staff at the Wellesley office, where my consultation was, is also very nice and not pushy at all. On the day of my LASIK, I had to go to their Brookline location. There is only street parking so leave time to find a spot and walk. The waiting room had food and coffee and was BUSY. I did end up waiting longer than I expected, but it was a Friday (surgery day) in December and it's right before year end so I'm sure lots of patients were using their HSAs. The procedure was surprisingly quick (less than 15 mins), almost completely painless and yes ODD. You can "see" it all happening. Dr. Brenner was great, comforting and kept me informed about what was going on the entire time. After going home, my eyes started burning and watering like crazy as the numbing drops wear off, but I still managed to squeeze in a 4 hour required nap. Woke up, had some dinner with my family, then went back to bed with my trusty plastic goggles taped on. The next day I woke up with really blood shot eyes but with perfect vision!! I followed the rules (avoid getting water or soaps in the eye) and actually avoided eye makeup for a whole week (recommended is only 2 days, but I didn't want to chance fudging up my new eyes!). I haven't had any issues with dry eye or halos or floaters. Now when I'm driving at night, headlights do have a starburst look to them, but nothing worse than my night blindness with an astigmatism before and nothing horribly distracting. All in all I'm incredibly happy with my results! I'm so glad I went through with LASIK and so happy with Boston Laser!

Boston Eye Group/ Boston Laser is a large, highly structured practice, with a fairly consistent turnover of medical professionals. Because the group is so large and well organized, it sometimes can feel impersonal, as you're being shuttled from one station to another. But, rest assured that these people have your best interest at heart and provide top-notch care. It is actually a very friendly--though often very busy--office. The founder and chief medical officer, Dr. Samir Melki, recently performed my cataract surgery with adjunct vision correction. He is a very skilled surgeon, with a delicate sensibility, and a highly regarded academician and researcher in his field. I trust him implicitly. I have been a patient at Boston Eye Group/ Boston Laser for more than 15 years.

The quality of care from the doctors was great. They are very knowledgeable and experienced. However, the supporting staff there are very unprofessional (ie: speaking loudly about other patients in the waiting room, having loud personal conversations rather than attending to patients waiting in line, etc.) My worst experience was when I was charged for a Lasik follow-up appointment that should have been covered by the initial bill. Apparently my 1-year follow up was out of window, at no fault of my own, because I had been rescheduled multiple times by the office because of doctors quitting, and going on vacation. I called 3 times, e-mailed, left 2 messages, and nothing. I kept getting bills in the mail. I called back and eventually spoke to someone who noted my claim. I didn't hear back for a couple weeks and assumed everything was resolved. But I continued to receive bills that were becoming increasingly aggressive, so I called back AGAIN. I finally spoke to someone after waiting on hold for 40 minutes, who told me my claim was denied, BUT NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW. I was then referred to someone else at the office, who continued to deny my claim, despite my valid argument, until someone from the Lasik office kindly took charge and fixed it. The care at Boston Laser is great, but I wouldn't bother going there because you will just be jumping through hoops trying to get things done. Lasik is becoming increasingly popular, and there are far more places you could take your business to.

Procedure was quick and painless. I was definitely nervous and I got through it with flying colors (so I was told). The procedure (I got mono-vision) took all of 8 minutes maybe. Give or take a few minutes. Recommend them. Just don't drive there for your followup, there isn't much parking I don't believe.

Any fear of pain should just go out the window. You feel nothing, almost not notice anything going on until you realize that it’s over. Excellent job, seeing 20/15 now and i cant be happier

Had PRK surgery 1 month ago, 1st week was difficult as was explained by the explained by the doctor. But this is the best thing I have ever done in my life and probably the only thing I will ever leave a review for. Thank you for fixing my eyes.

Dr. Melki and his entire staff were 100% professional, courteous, clearly experts in the matters of Laser vIsion correction. From my first call all the way through my latest follow up they were absolutely attentive to anything I needed, answered my questions promptly and expertly and made me feel that I was in the best hands in regards to my Vision. The procedure was exactly as Dr. Melki described, incredibly quick and completely painless. The recovery process has been routine and very simple with no complications. I would recommend them 10 times out of 10 to anyone interested in Laser Vision correction. Dr. Melki and his team have been a complete delight and it's been a pleasure working with them.

I don't often write reviews for products or services, but I feel this event warrants a review as it deals with an elective surgery which may change your quality of life forever. I have considered Lasik surgery for a couple of years now, but I have been hesitant to go in for a consultation. I spend most of my days behind computer screen. I consider my eyesight my most valuable sense and for that reason I have been extremely careful in my evaluation of potential laser eye surgeons. I have informed myself quite a bit on the available technologies, the surgeries, the pros/cons, risks, side-effects. Also to select an eye surgeon, I looked at experience, number of surgeries performed, teaching and research experience, academic training, publications, and expertise beyond Lasik. Among the several laser eye surgeons I evaluated, Dr. Samir Melki and his practice (Boston Laser) ranked highly: Dr. Melki has several thousand surgeries under his belt, has trained under globally known eye surgeons, currently teaches at Harvard Medical School, wrote several books, and is also specialized in cataract and corneal surgery. Again, it is vital to stress that you are essentially making a conscious decision to put your eyesight in the hands of a surgeon: as with any surgery, Lasik/PRK/Lasek present risks to your eyes, no matter how small, risks that may adversely affect your eyesight forever! That is why you should be very wary of surgeons who will tell you that this is a zero-risk surgery, or who will use price discounts as the primary means of getting you into the door. Your eyesight is far too precious for that! I traveled all the way from NYC to Boston in order to meet with Dr.Melki for an initial consultation. Dr. Melki's manners were impeccable, his knowledge, honesty, and patience impressive. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and then some. He also presented the surgery options, as well as their benefits, risks and potential side-effects. He was able to put things in perspective in a way that made me feel comfortable making a decision. In the end, it is all about trust. And dr. Melki earned my trust. The Boston Laser clinic seems to have invested in the latest technologies for laser eye correction procedures, including wavefront lasik. Keep in mind, this was the only clinic I found that had their own outcomes independently reviewed every year. Once there, the clinic design made me feel comfortable, and the staff was not only friendly, but also knowledgeable. I came in the day of my surgery, and after a bit of prepping I was ready for the procedure. The whole thing took only a few minutes, and Dr. Melki described to me each step as he was operating (which made me feel comfortable). Dr. Melki peformed the Lasek (PRK) procedure on my eyes, which corrected for both myopia (short-sightedness) and astigmatism. In additional to using wavefront technology, he also performed the 'monovision' procedure, to delay even more the need for wearing reading glasses in the future. You need to keep in mind that no matter how good your eyesight is today, one day in the future, when you grow older, you will need to wear glasses for reading up-close. Dr. Melki's technique pushes back by several years the date at which you may need reading glasses. Finally Dr. Melki and his team followed-up with me for several weeks after the procedure, to insure I was doing ok. I have today 20/20 eyesight, I can see distant objects (and actually read small characters better than when I was wearing glasses), and can read books up close with no prolem, and most importantly I can stare at my computer screen for hours on end without getting tired! If you are considering laser eye surgery, I can only highly recommend Dr. Samir Melki and the Boston Laser Clinic. His procedure significantly improved I evaluated, Dr. Melki & his team are IT. But don't take my quality of life forever, and I don't have to worry about glasses anymore. Among all the laser eye surgeons my word for it, do your homework, set up an initial consultation, and see for yourself !

Recently went for a consultation- staff are friendly and helpful. The consult took about 90 minutes and I am hoping to have the surgery this year.
