excellent medical support. the staff were very thorough and careful and there wasn't any of the typical US hard sell. I had both eyes PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) and a lens implant in one eye.

My experience with Dr Melki has been really outstanding. He took the time to answer my questions on several occasions. I was very anxious about the procedure since I have very thin corneas. He explained the method and details of the procedure with me and the reasons why I should not worry. The procedure was so fast and painless. Much simpler than I expected. I took a few days off to really rest my eyes and was extremely careful with the drops regimen. It served me well because one week later I have 20/20 vision. I was glad i took the time off because my vision fluctuated during the week, at times blurry or sensitive to light. I did not experiment pain and was thankful for that.

Be ready to wait! I went for a routine follow up visit and spent 90 minutes waiting before I had to leave to get back to work. I was told repeatedly that the doctor would be right with me, but he never showed. This is the longest I’ve had to wait, but puntucality not a strong suit for this office.

Wow, so disappointed in the billing department at Boston Eye Group. I called prior to my visit to make sure that they took my insurance. I had my appointment and then I ordered contact lenses. I paid $152 for my lenses. About a month later, I get a bill in the mail for $302? I called Boston Eye Group and the person in the billing department told me it was an insurance issue. I called my insurance company and they told me that Boston Eye Group never submitted a claim! Instead, Boston Eye Group just sent me a bill. They did not acknowledge that I had already paid $152. Turns out my insurance covered $150 and then I paid the $152. How lazy!! I spent over an hour dealing with this issue. I called to speak with the office manager but all you get is the prompt run around. I really do not recommend this business. I can only imagine with others with more major problems have to deal with when having to work with a billing department that does not do their job.

I had a great Lasik experience with the Boston Eye Group. From the date I called to get my consultation appointment to the date that I actually got my surgery was under two weeks which was a huge draw for me. Their process for going through all of the tests during the consultation was very efficient. They answered all my questions and I never felt rushed but the appointment only needed to take about 90 minutes. On the day of the surgery everyone I interacted with was very nice and were all familiar faces from my consultation. After going home and sleeping for a few hours I woke up with nearly perfect vision. Street signs and other things far away (50 ft +) were still blurry on the first day, but after a night of sleep I felt like I had a better prescription than I ever had with glasses or contacts. The drops and the after care has been super easy and the only minor inconvenience is having to sleep with the plastic guards over your eyes.

This process of getting LASIK was very nerve wracking for me. I was very nervous and unsure about the pain, the discomfort, or how I would adjust not doing simple movements with my eyes. I wanted to do this procedure because contacts were too much of a nuisance. Especially because I am going to college next year, contacts and glasses would be two extra things that I would need to bring and continue to keep up with to make sure I would never run out. Before my procedure one of the woman led me through everything they were going todo and explained what each eye drop did/when I should use them, while also providing a schedule for each drop. Each person in the office was very helpful diligently answering my questions. During the procedure, Boston Laser's doctors and nurses there in the room were very comforting and encouraging. Dr. Brenner was encouraging by helping me through the process and comforting me when necessary. He lead me through what was happening during the procedure, which was very soothing. Often telling me that "we were almost done" or "we got through the hard part." Phrases like that calmed me and forced myself to think that it would be over within minutes. And in fact I was in the laser suite for about 10 minutes, quick and easy. The procedure itself was only slightly painful, but the nurses kept reapply numbing drops to make sure I did not feel anything. After my procedure it was hazy and quite blurry. Another doctor checked my eyes and let me go. The first hours were very painful for me and the sunlight on the way home did not help. I got home and attempted to sleep, but the pain in one of my eyes was too much. I took an ibuprofen and fell asleep for 4.5 hours after. This nap relieved my pain as well as relaxed my eyes. After that I took an ibuprofen every 4 hours to help with the pain and continued with the prescribed eyedrops as well as the natural eye drops you can get over the counter. The next day I woke up with very little pain (And I could see clearly!!!), but my eyes were slightly itchy. At my follow up appointment, the doctor told me to religiously use the natural eye drops because they will help with the itch. I went through a pack of 32 in one day, but my eyes felt very little discomfort. So far, so good even though it is hard to keep away from rubbing my eyes or squinting. Also, wear sunglasses outside, the light can be painful.

Everyone was so nice and explained everything that would happen! Nothing hurt and the procedure was so quick. I walked out and was able to see perfectly after my 4 hour nap!!
