I was able to get an eye exam for glasses as well as an exam by an opthalmologist on my first visit, which was without an appointment. The process of actually getting the glasses took about 15 days, because my health insurance in an unpleasant surprise would pay for the exam and lenses but Not for discount frames, which at this center cost a bit more than 90$. The manager correctly pointed this out at the beginning, although the clarity of her explanation was not great. I found later that a discount frame at a different eye center was much less expensive. However, i got help from the Arlington, MA Senior Center in paying for the frame, so i did stick with Bennett and got glasses that corrected my vision very well. The opthalmologist confirmed that i had cataracts, which a different doctor had informed me of earlier. I felt she answered my questions in a clear and complete manner.

I was very disappointed by their customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone. If you need a new pair of glasses I would recommend going somewhere else.

We've been going to Bennett Eye Care since my eldest developed myopia. They have a decent selection of kids glasses (regular and sports) and make it easy for my kid to pick one out. They seem to be progressive in their treatment on childcare myopia, using methods that are different from what I was offered as a kid (basically none). I hope my son will benefit from it, long term! As an adult patient, I've found the doctors patient, and willing to listen. I like that they don't have to dilate my pupils during the exam. I find them to be a little pricey without insurance, but well worth it.

Walked in with my daughter and was looking around for frames. Salesperson handed me a form to fill out (PII with insurance info). I continued browsing and she told me I’d have to fill out the form if I was to continue looking at frames. Um, no, not providing my info until I’ve found something I want to purchase. We left. I wish this place could be turned back into the ice cream shop it replaced.

I hadn't seen an eye doctor in several years. I decided to go to Bennett because the office was right down the street from me, and I'm glad I did! Everyone was so nice and helpful, from the woman who checked me in, to Dr. Barr and her helper Johanna, and Kelsey who helped me select my glasses. As a former non-glasses wearer, it can be a little overwhelming to enter the world of glasses, but I felt like everyone at Bennett was happy to help guide me through the process. I was also impressed by all of the technology they have, it was very cool seeing images of my retina.

For the past 15+ years I have gotten 2 year contact prescriptions from providers. I had my yearly exam at Bennett and did not do my contact exam at the same time, not knowing Bennett’s prescriptions are only good for one year. I almost ran out of contacts because of this and scheduled an appointment as soon as I could. I got a call the day before my appointment asking if I could move it and after confirming I could not as I had a mother appointment, later in the afternoon received a voice mail saying my appointment was canceled. I received this after work and by that time Bennett was closed. I was able to work magic and rearrange my other appointment so I could come at the only other time I was offered. The next day Dr. Maida mentioned a different contact that I might want to try and I said sure. There was no mention at this time that I would be charged more later. If I had known I may have elected to stick with the same contacts I have been wearing for several years. I got to the front desk and was I told I was being charged a higher rate because the contact appointment was not done at the same time as my exam (I was not happy about coming back a second time either) and I was trying a different contact in one eye per the doctor’s suggestion. Even after explaining all of the above, the only response from the staff was to tell me they would not give me my prescription if I did not pay. There was no apology for any of the above or willingness to see what could be done given the lack of transparency or inconvenience that was caused for me.

Went to this place for eye examination. The customer service is terrible. they mistakenly sent the bill to my medical insurance and not vision and that left me with $100 deductable. I have been fighting over the last month to change it back to vision and have not yet succeeded.
