I've been seeing Dr. Cyford for years (since it was Parris/Castoro). It is not like it was back then, Dr. Cyford is still great but the wait times are BAD... All they want to do is move you around, since i go by myself for routine exams walking around is not really possible when your dialiated and can't see.. They could really do better..
was very satisfied with the treatment that I received from all of the staff. Dr Prescott carefully examined my eyes, listened attentively to my questions, and provided successful lens exchanges in both of my eyes. The surgical teams were attentive and thoughtful. I recommend Dr Prescott and the Wilmer Eye Institute.

If you are going for a regular eye exam or you need contacts DO NOT GO HERE.
The receptionist I had to sign in was very rude and had very sly remarks to myself and other patients there. Not a "hello" or a "good morning" when I went to sign in at the desk. It was my first time there so I had no idea what I was supposed to do and she just automatically assumed I should know what to do. Thankfully the doctor made up for her rude comments. I love the doctors there!

Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Doctor Scott one of finest doctors I have ever met. Appointments take a long time, but that is due medication used to dilate eyes and dye used during examinations.
Having had prior experience with Wilmer (and the reason I switched to Parris Castoro) I knew what to expect. The wait times to both get an appointment and to sit in the waiting room are horrid. I've seen people get up and leave many times after sitting for two hours past their appointment time. That goes over so well when they demand you get there early. The optical shop has always been the most expensive in town. Their frame selection and lens quality remains mediocre and if lenses need to be redone, you're in for a battle. Johns Hopkins is the best teaching and research organization on the planet. They have always been horrible at patient services. You can't have a doctor seeing patients and giving lectures and writing papers at the same time. If you have a sight threatening problem, there is no better place to go. If it's just normal eye care and examinations, there's no worse place. Finally, after being the most expensive eye care facility in the state, they will continually hound you for donations so they may continue their research and training efforts.
Everyone that I have dealt with at this facility has been amazing. I would like to specifically commend Dr. Berkenstock and the entire team in the surgery center.
It has been years since I went to the eye doctor. I have recently moved, and needed to find someone closer to where I live. I called Wilmer to schedule an appointment. The gentleman I spoke to was awesome. He was courteous, and worked with me to find an appointment that works with my crazy schedule. I arrived at Wilmer Bel Air and signed in. The lady at the front desk wasn't overly enthusiastic, but that's okay I understand (I have days like that too). I waited about twenty minutes before being called back. Dr. Lee came to get me himself. He apologized for the delay (to be honest, I didn't even notice there was a delay). He was so sweet! He put me at ease. I barely even flinched during the eye exam-- that includes the part where they put drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils! He even made funny little jokes too. The gentleman I spoke to when checking out was nice too! He was professional and walked me through the things my insurance covered. I decided to purchase my glasses from Wilmer (super convenient). The man showed me all of the glasses I could get for free through my insurance, and then went back to his desk. Of course I had my own little fashion show, trying on almost every pair of free glasses. I narrowed it down to two pairs. I awkwardly asked one of the ladies how I would go about purchasing them. She asked which pair I wanted. I told her that's where I needed her opinion. She helped me pick out the best pair for me and walked me through the whole process. I think I found my new eye doctor! Wilmer is great! Everyone was awesome. I'm happy I went. tl;dr-- I had a wonderful experience at Wilmer Bel Air. Everyone rocks, even the receptionist who seemed to be having a rough day.
TERRIBLE! THE LET MY 5 YEAR OLD WALK OUT OF THERE WITH GLASSES WHICH ARE 2-3 SIZES TOO BIG!! THEY FALL OFF HIS FACE AND HAVE EVEN CAUSED BRUISING FROM CONSTANTLY PUSHING THEM UP. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

I had my 94 YO father in for an appointment. he was moved to and fro three times to waiting rooms and different rooms. His mobility is very limited and it wasn't senior friendly. In that vein, the bathrooms had no grab bars for the elderly, which term describes about 90% of the patients.
Worthless I’ll go elseware.
THEY CANT SEEM TO GET MY GLASS PRESCRIPTION RIGHT FOR ME TO SEE OUT OF AFTER SPENDING 300.00. I'M STILL WEARING DOLLAR STORE GLASSES AND CAN SEE, WHATS WITH THAT

Had Cataract surgery done by Doctor Prescott. She and her assistants were excellent. They were able to get me to relax so I was not so anxious about the surgery. The whole experience from the receptionists on was a very good experience . I had this surgery Done a few months ago and am doing very well today.
I had to wait for 50 minutes to see Dr. Seifert on Monday , June 6th at 3:45. While his exam was fine, I was insulted that I could not try on new frames unassisted because each pair was separately locked up! I do not like doing business in a place that punishes me for someone else's shoplifting. The assistant was less than friendly. Really insulting. I will not be returning.
Made an appointment months ago with the same doctor I see every year (same insurance every year). Showed up to appointment and was informed the doctor no longer accepts my insurance. This was not my first negative experience with Wilmer. Eye found myself a new practice and will not be returning.
Couldn't fathom a better experience or outcome. Not only would I use them again and recommend them, but I would not use anyone else.

The place is run like a storage ware house. I sat 3 1/2 hours waiting to see the doctor. My Italian came out and left. Never saw such poor service. In the waiting room there are about twenty doctors pictures shown on the wall. I saw two in the back taking care of about twenty people. Had it with these people. Since Dr. Castoro turned the practice over to Hopkins, it has gone totally down hill. Never did think much of the Hopkins patience care. Moving on to someone that is interested in my care, not the number on my account.
First time visit went very smooth - was very pleased that they were able to fit me in the next day when I called for an appointment. Upon arrival, I had minimal wait time, Dr. Chapman was very personable & knowledgeable, and office staff was very friendly and helpful with all new patient paperwork, insurance, and the completion of my MVA Eye exam. Would highly recommend.
Best eye doc.l used really used.
Dr Prescott was excellent. A great doctor.
Dr. Lee is the best! He is so wonderful & nice.

I had an eye problem that needed quick attention, I called and was given an eye appt. for the next day. The experience was outstanding! The intake receptionist remembered me because she had made my appointment. She was delightful. I was seen by a competent and personable technician. I was then seen by Dr. Berkenstock. She did a thorough exam and needed to order additional testing. She personally took me to the receptionist and made sure I had the first available appointment. After my return test, I was sitting in the reception area, waiting for my husband, when the phone rang. It was Dr. Berkenstock calling because she needed to discuss the findings (it had only been 10 minutes). I told her that I was still in the office and she came out immediately, took me back to her office. She discussed the findings suggesting that I have an MRI soon. I said I wasn't certain how soon I could get one so she picked up her phone and got an appointment for me for the next evening. I had the MRI done and at 8:30 the following morning she phoned to give me the results. Oh, I forgot that the day before the MRI I told the receptionist that I wasn't sure how to get to the MRI facility and before I knew it she had printed out a Google map with directions from my house to the facility. Every person that I saw coming and going from the office was treated with the same level of care and concern. As an aside, my husband had delicate eye surgery at the same office last year and he received the same excellent treatment. I would, without hesitation, recommend this practice to anyone in need of outstanding eye care.
Dr Prescott was excellent. A great doctor.
Can’t even see there own schedule they had me for 320pm when the ofice person said 4 pm and still waited 20 min and still no results !!!
Good experience. Front desk staff, Technicians, Dr. Chatman, and Dr. Bonsak were very nice and thorough.
Dr. Lee is the best! He is so wonderful & nice.
I made an appointment with a "pediatric" opthamologist at Wilmer. When I called I specifically asked for a "pediatric" doctor, explained the situation and told them that her pediatrician told me to get her to a "pediatric" opthamologist. The appointment time was 1:15. At 1:45, she was seen by a technician. We finally get in to see the doctor - she was examined and then she dilated her eyes. We were told to wait in another waiting room while her eyes dilated? Really? After the doctor saw 2 more patients, my granddaughter was examined again. Everything looked great (that's the good news). However, the doctor told me that if my granddaughter had any further problems, I might want her to be seen by a "pediatric" opthamologist! What? So, 2 hours later, I find out the doctor wasn't a pediatric doctor!!! She said the pediatric opthamologist's aren't available 'til March or April. NONE of this was explained or mentioned to me when I made the appointment. Not happy at all!
Visit went very well. Minimal wait time. Dr. Prescott was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this office and Dr. Prescott.
