DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see all the reviews of real people who purchased the services and products of University of Maryland Eye Associates (Ophthalmologist) near to the state of Maryland.

As of day this firm has a score of 2.3 out of 5 and that score has been based on 20 reviews.

You may have noticed that the average score it has is quite insufficient, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the assessment is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to place tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

This Ophthalmologist corresponds to the category of Ophthalmologist.

I second that comment about giving them a negative 5. The doctors are great, thorough and very knowledgeable. But beware of the optical shop. DO NOT GET YOUR GLASSES DONE THERE! That place is a mess, they lose your glasses, no one EVER answers the phone, no one will EVER call you back.

If I could give this place a negative 5, I so would. I ordered glasses from this place, which btw there isn't much of a selection so don't waste your time. Unfortunately I was limited to going here for insurance purposes. Anyway, I needed to add scratch resistant lenses to my eyeglasses I just ordered so I called about 7 times literally, I stopped in about 3 times only to find nobody there. But don't worry because their voicemail claims they will call you back but nobody ever does and even when you go in and try to at least speak to the front desk staff, they too make claims about how they will deliver the message and the person will call back. Nobody ever did. Then when my glasses are ready TWO weeks later n I pick up my glasses nobody is there either. Front desk staff hands me the glasses and when asked about the scratch resistant lens i tried to add 10 times, they had no idea but again guaranteed someone would call me back. Uffff. So sick of this place. I would never recommend this place, perhaps to my worst enemy but not to an ordinary person.

The first visit was a long wait ,had an appointment for 2:15 left at 4:30 . I received my contacts “trail” which was incorrect because of a Wrong written number by the doctors .. I thought because it was stronger, but I found myself squinting to see with the lens...went back to the place ordered my glasses still haven’t received them yet going on 4 weeks now .. always sent to voicemail or saying that their close ..moral of the story if you have basic insurance expect to get treated as such !!

Last year I became a new patient of Dr. Saleha Munir. She is absolutely WONDERFUL. She spends plenty of time with her patients to make sure they understand everything and that all of their questions are answered. She is a very kind lady. The low rating is due to the front office staff. They refuse to listen to the patient and use the appropriate insurance for my visits. The insist on billing to an old insurance every single time I go and I end up with a balance for non-coverage. Getting them to re-submit the bill to the correct insurance is a nightmare and I wish Dr. Munir worked for another practice so I could see her elsewhere. Please be extremely attentive when it comes to your insurance and their billing practices.

If I could i would give no stars the service is horrible and I got my glasses from them and I see better without my glasses so I had to go to another eye Dr and get another pair of glasses and get the right prescription so that I could see

Terrible customer service! I called for 4 days trying to get an appointment. Their call-back system does not call you back when indicated, if they call you back at all. Some days I kept trying to get through and kept leaving call back numbers that were never returned. The last call I made said my wait time was 13 minutes (at 2:30pm). They called me back after 5:00pm. I answered on the first ring and they immediately hung up. Guess customer service hours were over. Under no circumstances would I recommend this practice. I don't understand how they stay in business. Maybe the doctors are better...

If I can give negative stars I would. I called to make a new patient appointment to have my annual eye exam. Arrived 30 minutes early to my appointment on a Wednesday. The front desk made copies of my insurance card and I filled out the paperwork. A few minutes pass by and front desk calls me up and says the opthalmologist actually left this morning to to deliver her baby. I say oh? ok, I understand, but why did nobody call me? Front desk apologized, and recommend rescheduling my appointment for Saturday at 9:15 am. I agree and confirm. Saturday morning I arrived and the front desk did not see my name on the schedule. I was scheduled for the next month at 9:00 am. I said that is the wrong time and date. She explains to me that the doctor had 6 patients in the back at the time and she had to leave at 12:00 pm. Front desk said the doctor told her that she can see me but can't give me a time frame and is not sure if she will get to me before 12 since she has 6 patients already, but is willing to see me if I wait. At first I said, sure that's fine but this is unbelievable.... A few minutes go by, I decide to leave because I think it is inconsiderate of them to have you wait for an appointment that might not happen. Patients time are just as important as any one else's. In all the years I have been getting my annual eye exams this has NEVER happened to me. I am new to the area and decided to give them a try as they are close by to me. Just Unreal!!! Disorganized!

I just had surgery yesterday and my discharge papers directs me to call with any concerns. I've been calling since this morning regarding a prescription that can't be filled and some bruising that I wasn't informed would occur. The call back system doesn't pick up when I answer and no one has been available using three different phone numbers. Lesson learned, don't have surgery on a Thursday because no one works on Friday. I'll be without my post op medication for at leazt 4 days if not 5. Sooooo disappointed!

I have been avoiding going to the eye doctor for too long because of previous bad experiences. I found the University of Maryland Eye Associates online and am so happy I went there. I had an appointment with Dr. Shafi and she was incredible. She gave me tons of helpful information (including information for me about wearing contacts that I've never been told, even though I've been wearing them for 20 years). The office optician helped me figure out exactly what was covered by my insurance plan, and helped me pick out and order glasses that will fit my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Shafi and the folks at the University of Maryland.

The only reason they received two stars is because we had a wonderful experience with our previous optometrist. She recently left UMMC, and we did not receive notification (red flag #1). Called to re-schedule with a new optometrist, was easy get in. However, less than one week from the appointment I receive a call from the office that Dr. Munir, had cancelled all appointments that day and the next available is OCTOBER (OVER TWO months away). Not acceptable. If you cancel a day for whatever reason, it is common courtesy that you have a sooner make up day or open additional slots to accommodate this (red flag #2). I will take my healthcare needs elsewhere.

Waited 2.5 hours for a basic eye check up for my wife. Appointment was at 2:30pm, she did not get called back until 3:20pm and the check up wasn't completed until 4:45. This is unacceptable and ridiculous.

It was a Saturday appointment and got it confirmed with address txted to my phone. I showed up on time, the office was closed. I called on following Monday demanding for an explanation, they say the person was new...

Had the worst experience with them. The doctor Dr. Kiani made mistake in coding for my exam. she charged me for 2 visits instead of one. I called the center so many times and talked to the Manager several times. Each time she said she will get back to me, I waited a month and called back and she said oh I sent it to the billing. They didn't call you? Took 6 months, and several calls and headaches, people called me but did not know what was going on. I had to start all over each time and explain every thing. It was a nightmare. The most dysfunctional and disorganised medical practice. The worst thing was the manager was even mean and nasty everytime I called her. Not saying that at the time of visit the receptionist told me my insurance was covering it and it was supposed to be a free exam. Then kept sending me bills for $275 and even sent it to the collection agency. The doctor was also not good and did not check me for my dry eyes as I asked her to do. Very bad experience and do not go there.
