This place is awesome! I found it online by googling: "Best eye doctor in rockville" and they were the first hit that accepted my insurance. I loved their ease of making an appointment online. I requested on on Monday and got one for Wednesday of the same week. Their customer service was the best I've EVER seen in a eye doctor's office. And I've been to quite a few. I was seen by Dr. Hernandez and she's really nice, helpful and explains everything to you. They have the latest and greatest technology and I was really impressed! After several bad experiences with getting new glasses (bad prescription, lense falling out, misaligned lense) I really appreciated their willingness to help me find what I liked, not just what I needed. I also want to mention that I got a dilation test at around 10:45am and I can see clearly again now at 1:00pm. That's SO fast! Overall, Google is right these are the best eye doctors in Rockville. Grade = A+

Although I’m happy with the eye exams themselves, I find their glasses to be way overpriced even with my “great” vision insurance. I need to repeatedly ask for my prescription which is frustrating since it should automatically be given to me. Let customers decide for themselves if they want to buy your glasses.

Dr. Glazier's Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care office is an excellent optometry practice. I've only seen Dr. Glazier (not any of the other optometrists) and have been completely satisfied. He diagnosed and corrected a medical issue with my eye. Also, he gets my glasses prescriptions right. He has a staff of highly competent opticians to help you pick out and adjust your glasses. They will take their time with you. The rest of the office staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, my experiences with Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care have been excellent.

I recently stopped by (I had no appointment) to have my left eye checked out (it had been irritated for about a week) to see if I had scratched it or something. I was seen immediately by one of the techs, and then by one of the doctors. Both of them were very friendly and thorough in their examinations. I left with a clean bill of health and a sample bottle of artificial tears to deal with the discomfort due to dry eyes. I even got the optician to adjust my glasses while I was there! Great staff, great service, and great office environment!

I was a patient of Dr. Glazier's Father since I was pre-teen. When Dr. Glazier took over the practice he not only became my eye doctor but also my wife's, and both Daughters since they were small. I am now 65+ ! The new renovations to the office make it feel very spacious and confortable, and the entire staff cannot be more friendly and efficient, from receptionist to techs, to fitting frames and buying lenses. Since allowing Dr. Summerfield to see patients at this office he has expanded the services provided to patients to include cataract and other eye surgeries They receive my highest recommendations. In July 2011, I purchased my first pair of progressives and was somewhat disappointed that I was having trouble adjusting to them. I mentioned it to Stu, who works there, and with one slight adjustment to my frames, I was not having trouble and now extremely pleased. They have taken the time I needed to make sure I'm happy. Our whole family goes to Dr. Vaziri; she and the staff are great! My kids actually look forward to going to the eye doctor. The staff gets us in, sees us one after the other, is patient with all the little hiccups that come with kids, and generally keeps everything moving. The kids love the eyewear choices and each of us has a 30 min. appointment (and it really takes only 30 min, or less). Love the wonderful customer service, and I got a great referral for my glaucoma as well. You will not be disappointed.

I went here on the recommendation of two co-workers. I was able to request an appointment online and received a confirmation within 48 hours. I had some issues with filling out the paperwork online, but filled them out in the 15 minutes before my appointment time, which started as scheduled. The assistant did the usual pre-exam tests with all the fancy machines and then sat me in the exam room, where I barely read a page from my novel before the optometrist came in. Dr. Mahtab Vaziri got me set with a fresh pair of contact lenses and 4 sample/travel boxes of lens solution. The optician helped me figure out the best way to use my insurance benefits towards glasses or contacts. We determined glasses were the way to go this visit, so she helped me pick a frame I'm really excited about and said they'd be ready in a week. My appointment was Monday and my new glasses were ready Friday. I live in DC and wasn't able to get there before they closed, but since they're open until 7PM early in the week, I'll pick them up this afternoon.

The doc at the eye center was very thorough and did a good contact evaluation. BUT the late policy at the center is hypocritical. I had an appointment at the shady grove office, only to arrive late. The would not see me. On a Previous appointment, I waited 37 minutes in the waiting room when the doctor was late to see me. How is this any different? Solution: I should have been given the opportunity to wait in the lobby in case there was an available time to squeeze me in. I was there for a contact follow up and simply needed a prescription for contacts. Very disappointed. This policy over shadows the doctor’s ability.

With my eye condition, she actually recommended that I not undergo lasik because of the higher possibility of increased blindness. She does great eye examinations for glasses and contacts as well as recommend special care for unique eye conditions. When I moved, she recommended another great optometrist in my area and her office is very helpful in transferring my medical information to the new doctor! I'll miss her, but if you are lucky enough to live in the area, definitely see if she's in your medical insurance network!

****UPDATE**** Today I went for a follow-up appointment with Doctor Glazier after being prescribed eye-drops for which I stopped taking because it didn't work and also made my symptoms worse. Instead of him listening to me, he became defensive, ARROGANT, and combative. If you are looking to have a partnership with your doctor that’s willing to work through problems together - this guy is not the one you'd want looking out for you... he is arrogant, doesn’t think he can be wrong and does like to listen.

I've been going to Shady Grove EVC for almost 15 years. I have always had extremely bad vision (both myopia and astigmatism). Because of this, the contact lenses that I use are generally on the bleeding edge of technology.. Dr. Glazier is always well educated in the latest and greatest lens technology. Moreover, because of my vision issues, fitting contacts to my eyes is not a "cut and dry process." It can take several lens trials to obtain the lens that best matches my vision. Dr. Glazier is very patient optimizing and retesting/reordering my lenses until they provide me with the best vision quality. Sometimes this may take four or five visits to accomplish this. I think sometimes people think that ordering contacts and glasses is like ordering fast food. For many with better vision, that may be the case, but for me and my vision challenges, I'm very grateful to have someone like Dr. Glazier and his staff available.
