A great doctor that takes the time to get it right. I have keratoconus and have looked high and low for a specialist that could properly fit me for rigid contacts. MT. Airy medical center had the tools, experience and friendly staff that got the job done. If you have keratoconus, even if you live far away from Mt Airy medical eye center, (like I do) it is worth your time to go there.

My experience with this center has been nothing but excellent, a routine eye exam led to the discovery a retina hole that had not been discovered by any other eye doctor. The specialist that treated it was quite surprised that it was ever discover because it was almost invisible. Next up is the excellent life changing recommendation and treatment given to us by Dr Schwartz regarding my daughters ever deterioration myopia.. The eye doctor she had been seeing since infant just kept prescribing new glasses as her myopia got worse year after year. She got treatment and care for Ortho-K from Mt Airy Medical eye center and she went from wearing -5 pair of glasses to NOT wearing glasses at all!! The staff are very courteous and take their time to make sure you are getting the best treatment and care, no rush service. I have certainly recommended this center to everyone I know. Do yourself a favor if you need eye care.. go there you won't regret you did.

Very friendly staff but also very pricey. It is $150 to be fitted for contacts and that amount doesn't include your eye exam fee or the actual contacts. I just made an appointment elsewhere for a 50 dollar contact fitting fee. If you have the extra money to spend on good customer service, it might be worth it. In my life, I could use that extra 100 dollars for something other than medical fees.

I received a great eye exam. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, kind and absolutely made it clear to come back for adjustments if needed. I went back as I was having difficulty seeing with the new progressive computer glasses and they were very willing to adjust them until I could see clearly with them. It was a great experience so I brought my 83 year old Mom their for eye exam and new glasses and she couldn't be happier. I highly recommend the Mt. I highly highly recommend if you have or suspect you have keriticonus or any stigmatism you make an appointment now!! I was searching for a solution that did not involve surgery as I’ve had keriticonus diagnosed years ago but could’t get contacts or glasses that worked well. All staff were great and the Dr. listened to all my concerns and even let me try several contacts to get a perfect custom fit. I am very pleased and his expertise and knowledge is impressive. They also have a great selection of frames and lenses!!

I don't live or work in Mt. Airy, heard great things about its Medical Eye Center, wasn't happy with my current Baltimore eye doctor, and needed new glasses, so I scheduled an appointment. The Center was beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped, and its staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen by Dr. Schwartz, who was extremely personable, took extra time to explain and show me details on his computer about a very unusual eye condition that I possess, listened carefully to my concerns, and offered effective solutions and recommendations. He was much more helpful than the Baltimore cornea specialist, who treats my rare condition. I purchased prescription bi-focal sunglasses and computer bi-focal glasses, which were ordered and arrived quickly. I also purchased an eye mask and eye drops to treat my condition. The Center's staff were very knowledgeable about the hundreds of different styles and lense options and accurately measured, fitted, and computed costs after accepting my vision insurance. It was truly a very pleasant experience, and I look forward to returning in the future

They gouge you for everything your worth. I got an exam, they quoted me $750 for glasses and $690 for contacts. I got the glasses and asked for my contact prescription and they said they would just hold onto it for me in case I changed my mind and they would special order my contacts for me in case I wanted to get them. I reluctantly agreed but a few months later I decided I just wanted the prescription to take somewhere else and they told me I have to pay $180 for a fitting otherwise legally they can’t give me the prescription. I’ve never had that happen anywhere else I always went to get my eyes checked, ordered the contacts and got them in the mail. Never had to pay for a fitting! They just want me to get my contacts through them and pay a super high freaking amount of money. They know what they are doing with eyes but they are rip offs. Go somewhere else where they actually care about their customers!!!!!!

I’m a huge fan of Dr Schwartz, he’s a very intelligent, thorough doctor. When I worked with him, I thought I had found my family’s eye doctor for years to come. Unfortunately after the exam, everything went downhill fast. Firstly, they have exorbitant prices on glasses. I’ve worn glasses for 30 years and lived in upscale neighborhoods in Connecticut and New York and never seen prices this high. After reluctantly agreeing to purchase a pair of glasses that was highly recommended by the elderly man in the office, the doctors father, he took my measurements. Sadly, as he took the measurements, his hands were badly shaking and unsurprisingly, the measurements were off. When I received the expensive glasses, I couldn’t even see out of them. First, they told me my eyes needed to get used to them and wear them for a few days. I did. No change. Then, they told me they needed to be adjusted. I came in three more times as these glasses were manipulated, sometimes comically in how much they bent them so they were elevated off of my nose, trying to compensate for the poor measurements. After now 5 trips to this office, I requested a refund. Then, they became very irate. The doctors father was nearly yelling at us in the office while the mother was trying to calm him down, all in the middle of the small store. It was very unprofessional. They gave us a very small refund, only for the frames, not for the overpriced lenses, which was their fault for measuring incorrectly. To make matters worse, 6 months later I try to go somewhere else for glasses, and it turns out they never filed the refund with my insurance company so the claim could be revered. So, I have to now interact with them and wait AGAIN, just to get a pair of glasses. To say I’m frustrated with this office is an understatement. Hopefully, Dr Schwartz can make the necessary changes to get the front office processes to reflect the same level of quality and care he offers in the exam.

I am absolutely beside myself after my experience at Mount Airy Medical Eye Center. I have worn RGP lenses for 20 years now and had NO idea the discomfort and issues I was having with them could be remedied! It was purely coincidence that I happened to land right into the hands of an RGP lens specialist... Dr. Schwartz is hands down, the most professional and knowledgeable optometrist I have encountered in my life. I have had my share of good and bad experiences at many eye care facilities but nothing comes close to how wonderful my experience was here. I honestly thought I was in great hands with previous doctors but Dr. Schwartz has truly opened my eyes (pun-intended). I almost broke down into tears when I tried on my new lenses because 20 years of issues flashed before my eyes and disappeared in an instant. He had me reading 20/15 before I left! I have never come close to this clarity ever before. Also, everyone up front (especially Casey) were super nice and helpful :) As long as this business is running, I will be a returning customer.

I received the most thorough eye exam I have ever experienced in over 60 years of wearing lenses. I have keratoconus (cone shaped eyes) plus I've had a partial cornea transplant (DALK) in one eye. Doctor Schwartz fitted me with a custom gas permeable lens for one eye and a soft lens for the other. My old contacts and glasses corrected me to about 20/40. With my new contacts, I see at 20/25, the best I've been in decades. In addition, the staff are very courteous and helpful. I give this practice 5 stars out of 5.

I am reviewing my eye exam only. Dr Boaz Schwartz gave me the most accurate eye exam I have ever had in my life. I have worn glasses since I was very young, and I have constantly had to be content with an "almost" prescription. I could read the 20/20 line, but it was never crystal clear. That had always been enough before, even though I said the line was fuzzy. How excited I was to see the line as crisply as possible! After fifty years of glasses, I can recommend his eye exam very highly.

The professionals here will take care of you like family. They are top notch, I wouldn't trust my eyes with anyone else. I needed contacts quick and they said they could beat 1800 contacts. They said it would be a few days until they would come in. They took it upon themselves to ask if I needed a set now and gave me a brand new set of trial lenses. Dr. Boaz came on the phone and kindly said he would be able to give me a set from there trail lens stock to hold me over until my lenses came in. Dr. Schwartz is the most awesome doctor I have ever met. I am a Keratoconus patient and it is extremely hard for me to get the right prescription. Glassesand regular lenses don't work. Only special-fit lenses can do the job. I had previously been to 5 other doctors, all with mixed results (neither of them prescribed the right prescription) I had also tried multiple kinds of lenses...again none worked. One day a friend of the family recommended Dr. Schwartz and I went to him. He knew exactly what I needed, we went through 2 sessions of custom-fitted lenses and after the 2nd try I received the lenses that saved me from eye surgery! I finally have 20/20 vision. On top of that, his staff made sure to call my insurance and have them approve the special lenses because of my medical condition with 100% coverage from the insurance company(I guess it depends on your insurance, Dr. Schwartz's staff makes sure contact them on your behalf). I have moved out of Maryland now. I live in California but I am still using Dr. Schwartz as my main Vision Dr. I fly over to the east coast 1-2 times a year to visit family and I go for a checkup at Dr. Schwartz. Also, his staff and he personally calls me in order to make sure everything is going ok. If I need anything I call them and they will ship it over.

Mount Airy Medical eye Center is the place to go for your eye exams. I couldn't believe how much time that Dr.Schwartz took by helping me. There is a big difference between all of the eye places advertised and Dr.Schwartz. These are the only eyes we will get and. it is important to go to the best..
