My cat had his second eye removal at Eye Care for Animals in Akron and I’ve never felt more comfortable handing my fur child over to the staff at this facility. They all are incredibly thorough and Dr. Bobofchak answered all of the questions I had about pre- and post-operation. We are looking forward to having this office check out our year old blind dog as well. Thank you for putting pet parents at ease!

Dr. Hyman is super nice. She did surgery 2 years ago to restore my dog's vision when he went blind overnight due to undiagnosed diabetes. He is doing great now. The staff is friendly, too.

Dr. Hyman is one of the most caring vets I've ever met. She tells it like it is and powers thru even the most difficult diagnoses. My cat recently came down with lymphoma and after spending around $2,000 between multiple clinics, we could no longer afford treatment. Telling her we could no longer continue was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire life. I felt lost and completely helpless with such a terrible prognosis. Dr. Hyman could tell and she did something no other vet has ever done for me or any of my pets: she called the very next day to offer an alternative route. She could have easily just moved on to the next animal, but instead she kept me and my cat in mind. While there may be no cure for lymphoma, her alternative gave my cat her comfort, dignity and life back. My cat is no longer in pain, eating on her own again and cuddling more than ever. I can't thank her enough for her quick thinking. I have my cat back, even if only for a little while longer. It's the best gift I could have ever asked for and it's all thanks to Dr. Hyman and her obvious care for the animals she treats. Thank you again Dr. Hyman and Eye Care for Animals. You are real life angels.

Their care has assisted in narrowing down the issue with our beagle. That said, we struggled to be seen in an emergent situation. Though the website outlines emergency situations, which our dog met, we were turned away multiple times over the phone despite explaining the situation. We ended up at the veterinary hospital in the same building which then resulted in her being seen by the opthamologist. While I absolutely understand being swamped as he is the ONLY opthamologist veterinarian in NE Ohio, perhaps adjusting the website or referring emergencies to MedVet to screen first would be best. As panicked dog owners, in an emergency, we had a very hard time not being upset. The care provided, once we were able access it, was excellent and much appreciated.

Dr Jennifer Hyman has constantly gone above and beyond for my pets. She is top notch in her field and gives her all to make sure she has done everything possible to ensure your pet is diagnosed and treated correctly. Our server was great, A+ there. I ordered the ribeye med rare and the first one came out well done...probably because it was only about 3/8 of an inch thick. I usually dont send steaks back but in this case I did, and was served another cut of meat promptly. It was also thin, but at least cooked correctly. The pasta, salad, my wifes dish were all very tasty and well-prepared. The moz sticks could have been hotter coming out, but passable. They really get dinged for the value though. My steak was MAYBE 5 oz. It was $20. I dont mind paying $20 or even $25+ for a steak in a mid-tier restaurant if it's a generous cut. This was not what I would consider a cut fit to be served for $20. We have eaten here several times since they opened and the quality is fairly consistent and the service is usually good, it's worth checking out and their bar food especially the burgers is very good.

My husband and I were just in here today with our basset-beagle mix Penny, who had lost one eye already to glaucoma before we adopted her and her remaining eye had a sudden onset last night. The staff were super friendly and very understanding, after a horrible morning of running between clinic to hospital to get clinic and getting bounced around, it was a tremendous relief to have just that small kindness. The staff and the specialists we saw were all super knowledgeable in their field and were able to break down the explanation and treatment plan in an easy way for us to understand and memorize. They didn't look down on us or treat us differently. They were amazingly helpful. I wish I could give a higher rating and thank you so much to Dr. Bobofchak, Betsy, and staff. You made us feel so much better about what's going on and now that we have a game plan I feel much better equipped to help make Penny the happiest she can be.

Staff was so rude called to figure out what to do for my 9 week old puppy. A cats claw had went into her eye. At the time we didn't know the extent of the damage. Had rushed her the night before to the vet. They told us to call this place in the morning. So I call and the girl who answered said they couldn't get us in until the end of March and I explained how this was a emergency. (I work for a eye doctor myself and know things cant go UN treated) So she huffed and said well you could just bring the dog in after hours for an emergency visit and the Doctor should be able to see her then. So I hung up and called the emergency number there. Which just so happened to be the same exact place and this woman was sitting next to the last rude woman I talked to. So while I'm trying to talk to her the girl I just talked to is in the back ground saying " I just told her what to do, I don't know why shes calling again. She can come in after hours like I just said" So neither was helpful or made me feel like they even cared. Instead I called around and found an amazing place in New Castle Delaware. They were about an hour away but said that even though I had no appointment they would fit me. Since this was an emergency visit and since I have a 9 week old puppy. I sat in the waiting room only a few minutes. Then I saw the Doctor turns out my puppy has a 50/50 chance of loosing her eye. The cat claw actually went into her lens. She is on 5 different medications. So gist of the story is when you work in health care there will be people calling terrified of what is wrong or could be wrong with their pet. In our case our pets are just like our children, we love them just the same. I have spent over $1,500 dollars so far and I don't regret a penny of it. I will do what ever it takes to take care of my fur baby. Next time you should be more sympathetic to the person on the other end of the phone. You have no idea what they have going on and what the circumstances are. I hope in the future you will treat everyone the way you would want to be treated if it were your baby.

The entire staff is intelligent, kind, thoughtful, informative and helpful. My fur baby LOVED going there to see them. Not to mention the flawless cataract removal / lens replacement surgery, in both eyes, on a dog with many rare issues. They were with me every step of the way and promptly responded to all of my questions as we navigated through the healing process at home. They completely restored his sight, which has changed both of our lives for the better. Worth the drive from Cleveland. Worth every single penny.
